Hi there!
It’s been quite some time, friends.

To be honest I don’t know what the future fully holds for this blog. Part of me never wants to officially let it go. But part of me feels like I need to reinvent it and rebrand.

Needless to say, I at least want to post today in honor of mlw’s 12 year mark. These past few years, I’ve pretty much only posted once a year. My other musings as a writer are a bit more consistent over on my writer’s instagram @michelleleighwritesvibes

For a quick update, I feel like this past year, I found a way to use art as a form of therapy. I’ve been super interested in the idea of art therapy and even considered going back to school to become an art therapist. I’m still not sure it’s the correct path for me. But it definitely interests me.

I see how art can really heal, get you through hard times, help ease anxieties, bring out your creative side, bring lightness and joy to your day and just help you to relax. A way to slow down time.

Working with kids at my current job, I see how art can be beneficial to their mental health as well as the adults around them. Art can be a universal healer.

So this year I dove into creative elements: fashion art designs and models, coloring sheets, writing poetry, photoshoots, junk journaling, puzzles, redecorating my bedroom, pumpkin painting, latching, and surrealism collaging. I even snuck in a coffee shop writing day!

I’ve gotten to do some really cool, creative things in 2024 . And I’m excited to continue on doing so in 2025. I hope you’ll stay tuned for however long this little blog stays floating along!
