#Karamel #Feels

I fell in love with the relationship between Kara Danvers “Supergirl” who hailed from planet Krypton and Mon El Former Prince of Daxam rather quickly. From the minute they met,  you knew it was going to be interesting to watch it unfold. And so this love/hate banter began between them, as Kara tried to train Mon El in learning to control and utilize his strength for good. SPOIILER ALERT: it was just too cute too deny. His smile when he looks at her is EVERYTHING!

Their relationship started off rocky, Mon El came into the show in a FISH OUT WATER like state. His “pod” landed on earth and he was needless to say…confused and he met the girl of steel and her mighty fist quite a few times. Their story has a bit of a Romeo and Juliet feel to it, as their alien lands were once rivals.

However, they had their ups and downs, they fought, they got drunk together, they flirted, they dated other people (well party boy Mon El mostly did and Kara grew jealous). But it was soon evident that Mon El grew feelings for Kara and he became this witty, adorable man with a crush. Watching him learn the ways of earth and adapt to social cues is hysterical. However, as cute as they had become, Kara is a very independent woman, and Mon El often times would try to interfere with her decisions, they broke up for a brief period when Kara realized Mon El was lying about his past. Mon El was quick to work at winning her back.

At the end of season two, due to a device that was used during a fight with an evil alien (Mon El’s Mother), Mon El was expected to die, and Kara placed him in a pod and sent him off into space as a way to save him.

When we return this season, in season three- 7 months were spent in fear, wonder, worry for our beloved heroine. Not knowing where he was, or if he was alive. Kara became closed off, and through herself into being solely Supergirl. Kara Danvers was her human side, with a human heart that knew how to love, and she decided to leave that part of her behind. Until one day Mon El returns from living a life 7 years in the future with a wife-Imra a.k.a Saturn girl.

Kara never saw it coming. And neither did I. :/

Here’s a video explaining their full history a bit, better you watch it then read it! 😉 *Seasons available on Netflix!

My favorite Kara/Mon El “Karamel” moments are…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3IuwiCwdRWg

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oemT5tMREsU

Below @2:15- Mon El is suggesting they watch a Musical and Kara freaks out and gets all excited. This may be my absolute favorite scene of theirs. Because the way he looks at her is so perfect, he loves her so much! And he loves seeing her happy, and she’s clearly so happy with him. #RelationshipGoals #AlienLove 😉

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8THkaofridY

Although the next scene is heartbreaking, it really shows just how much Mon El really loves Kara. You can just tell by how badly he doesn’t want their relationship to end. This is the Mon El we are used to, the guy who tears up, the guy who expresses his feelings. The guy completely in love with Kara.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=um3HN9Ou4eY

This season has crushed many Karamel shipper hearts. Not only does he have a wife, but he isn’t who he used to be on the surface.

“Your different…” oh gosh she cries, I cry with her. So sad.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gs-vIrpYyqE

We see bits of the old Mon El come out from time to time, but Kara has quite the heartbreak over it all. Her boyfriend came back after months of not knowing, and he’s from the future with a whole new life. Not the mention his wife is also a superhero, beautiful and nice, constantly complimenting Kara. Ugh god, could you imagine wanting to hate someone who is always so nice. Torture!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cCK5vjj1kac

I really hate how they’ve written this storyline, and how Mon El is being portrayed. Granted Mon El was always a little self absorbed, he usually only thought about himself and his safety but when it came to Kara, he would protect her at any costs and he started becoming a better man for it, caring for others as Kara cares for National City. But the second half of season three, has me questioning Mon El’s character. There are signs that point to Mon El still having feelings for Kara, but there is still something up, something missing. It’s like he doesn’t care for her as genuinely as he used to. I understand it was 7 years for him and a lot can happen to a person in 7 years but to know how heartbroken Kara was when he was left away in that pod, all of us Karamel fans were holding out hope for the day he would return and they could just pick up where they left off. A couple of superheroes so in love. Like Kara says in the 3×09 video clip above…

“I see this very clearly for what it is, we’re just three good people stuck in a really crappy situation, but you know what at least two of us still get to be happy….I really am trying to be okay with this but…this is worse than the worst thing I could possibly imagine and that’s you looking at me with no love in your eyes.”

That scene was so amazing, although it was so heart breaking, I was so happy when she laid that all out in front of him, because although it’s been 7 years for him, [and Imra has said to Kara how Mon El loved her so much and didn’t look at another girl for years,] Mon El still needed to hear that it is NOT okay for him to be all chummy and kissing his wife right in front of Kara. 7 years, yes ok, but for Kara it’s still only been 7 months, her wounds are still fresh and he should respect her enough not to flaunt his new found relationship. NOT COOL Mon El, NOT COOL.

Last night I was watching the new episode- 3×10-The Legion of Superheroes- and I was just so angry at Mon El. There Supergirl is lying, nearly dead and there he is just chilling and not helping- throwing out some “I can’t risk dying the future needs us” bull crap. I was livid that he had to be encouraged by Imra of all people- to intervene. Granted, I know he had his brainiac friend from the future helping to coax Kara out of Acoma, but he was just standing around, waiting, the old Mon El would have been freaking out doing whatever he could to save the love of his life. So I ask myself, what gives?  Like in this scene where he tells her he still cares. And sure I believe him, but it’s not the same as it used to be. He’s distant, he’s holding back. And it breaks my heart.

I’m still holding out hope, the rumors I am hearing are that Imra (Mon El’s wife) is in fact manipulating his mind. And that is why Mon El is behaving the way he has been. That would make a lot of sense, So here’s hoping that’s true. Because I’m sorry I ship, my ships, and I take them seriously. I know I’m not the only one. I can’t accept a world without a Karamel reunion. P.S. 7 years and Mon El still doesn’t end up REALLY helping in battle. Lol. Dude you want to wear the suit, do the work! 😉 No but I love him, I do, I just need this weird version of him to be gone. I miss the old Mon El. Come back to us, come back to Kara.

Hey at least Chris Wood and Melissa Benoist are a couple in real life!

LOVE WHEN THAT HAPPENS! 😉

Riverdale Review

This Summer, I decided to test out the waters and watch The CW’s latest drama- Riverdale. I’m starting to brainstorm ideas for writing my own pilot episode and I was curious what a CW show looks like nowadays. Granted yes, I’ve watched Supergirl, but I feel like superhero shows are in a league of their own.

1485444235_915840_1485445098_noticia_fotograma[1]

Left to Right: Veronica, Betty, Josie, Jughead, Cheryl, and Archie.

I grew up watching One Tree Hill and Dawson’s Creek also hosted by the same network- The WB turned The CW. And then there’s also Fox’s The O.C. What do each of these have in common? They were all about young people navigating the ups and downs of love and friendship and just trying to find their way. I needed a new Netflix series so after giving Riverdale’s pilot a watch, it was nice to see that familiar drama still occupying the screen of my favorite network. I was hooked.

If you haven’t seen the first season of Riverdale – beware this post contains SPOILERS!

****SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!****

Riverdale is based on Archie Comics. Now I never read the comics, but I had some loose ideas about them being comedy based. And after asking around a bit, I was told that they are nothing like the dramatic, sexually charged Riverdale. The charcters are the same, but the show definitely sexed it up a lot and took some dramatic, cinematic liberties. The town of Riverdale reminds me of the 70’s. At first I honestly thought the show was set in the 70’s. The old styled cars, the fluorescent lighting in the old fashioned diner with milkshakes and fries, the drive in movie theater. The town is definitely small, but has so much character, in fact if you ask me it’s probably one of the show’s most important characters all on it’s own.

The show opens up with a narration…Jughead Jones narrating and explaining the mystery that floats on the rivers of Riverdale. The death of star football player/student/all around golden boy Jason Blossom looms over their heads as summer comes to a close and school is back in session. Was it an accident or was it murder? And if it was murder? Then who did it? And why? While, his twin sister Cheryl goes around destroying everything in her path in her grieving state. This narration is Jughead telling us the story- we later find out through his words what happened and it becomes clear that Jughead is in deed a writer. Yes, I am instantly invested.

Needless to say that Jughead is played by none other than Disney Channel veteran- Cole Sprouse from The Suit Life of Zack and Cody. And let’s just say… What a hunk! 😉

It’s a bit deceiving, because we think this story is all about Archie Andrews. And yet as we find out more about him, we realize just how unlikeable he actually is. Not only does he reject his best friend Betty Cooper’s love for him, but he starts a secret love affair with his music teacher (#DawsonsCreekVibesAnyone). Also throughout the course of the first season he “dated”, “slept with”, “hung out with” like 4 different girls. Just hopping from one girl to the next, never letting the dust settle. Kind of a man slut, if you ask me, as his best friend Betty got a front row seat. He annoyed me so many times!

Enter Betty Cooper. The perfect best friend, the girl next door. She gets straight A’s, is on the school newspaper, and has a hand in many other school functions. She has been Archie’s best friend since they were kids and has lived next door to him for just as long. We learn of Betty’s feelings for Archie in the very first episode as she sits in her room primping for her end of the summer meet-up with Archie. She hasn’t seen him all summer. Her gay best friend Kevin blurts it out- “We agreed Betty, it’s time,” as they watch Archie change his shirt across the way. “Archie got hot, he’s got abs now, 6 more reasons for you to take that ginger bull by the horns tonight,” Kevin says, as Betty rushes over to see. However, Betty’s excitement is squashed when a new girl named Veronica comes in and interrupts her time with Archie.

Enter Veronica Lodge- the rich girl-turned broke. She’s new to Riverdale and not exactly happy to be here. Her father is in jail for fraud and now she and her mother have relocated to Riverdale. It’s clear within this first season that Veronica’s mom grew up in Riverdale and has a past with the other parents there. In fact all the parents went to high school together and harbor secrets of their own. Everyone in this town is CRAZY! I swear there are some twists and turns that will just shock the hell out of you. The only sane parent is Archie’s dad- Fred Andrews.

Veronica shows interest in Archie early on and Betty gets jealous, claiming to trying to be a better person since losing everything, and wanting to be Betty’s friend. She appears to want to help Betty get with Archie, she helps her get on the cheerleading squad too, which is something Betty has always wanted. However along the road to friendship, Veronica breaks some serious girl code. Cue the love trial. Although there will be more than one this season.

You’ll see some familiar faces, that’s for sure- for instance, Jughead’s dad F.P. Jones is played by Scream’s Skeet Ulrich. While, Archie’s dad Fred is played by 90’s heartthrob Luke Perry (Dylan on 90210) and his mom Mary is played by 80’s movie queen Molly Ringwald. All kinds of YES!

fc911bc2a1437d837b2fe3024fcc139b[1]

There’s even a When Calls the Heart actor on board too- Martin Cummins plays Kevin’s dad- Sheriff Keller. I’m pretty sure you can place every actor form this cast from somewhere, so many familiar faces!

Season_1_Episode_12_Anatomy_of_a_Murder_Sheriff_Keller_at_the_station[1]

After Betty’s suffers the heartbreak that Archie just doesn’t feel the same way for her, she is thrust into a bit of a family whirl wind- her sister’s crazy…her parents are crazy. Is she crazy? When Betty begins to spiral and question herself, her identity (doing some questionable things throughout this time) it’s not Archie who helps her through it, but Jughead. It’s clear that everyone in this town is linked in some way. As the story unfolds, we learn that Jughead, Archie and Betty all grew up together. Archie being the best friend that linked them all. Although Jughead and Archie had parted ways they begin to be friends again.

As Archie and Veronica show interest in each other from the very beginning, Betty has some trouble being a friend to either of them, until Jughead kisses her that is.

Cue the second love triangle and my Riverdale Ship! #BUGHEAD

Second love triangle you ask? Why yes, because after Archie and Veronica get all hot and heavy- he begins to notice little things happening between his good friends Jughead and Betty. Jughead putting his arm round Betty, and comforting her. He also watches from afar as Betty hugs Jughead lovingly. Yea, we saw that coming from a mile away. Always wanting what he can’t have, that Archie. Well keep it moving ya man slut, your looks are no good here now. Peep that look at 1:03.

Jughead and Betty are ADORABLE! Jughead is a loner, his family is torn apart. Betty becomes his support and in turn he becomes her sanity. They have some of the sweetest moments, and you get to see a different side of him, a tender side. He’s always so sarcastic and keeps to himself but with Betty, he finds a safe place. And we get to see Betty soar, free from harboring feelings for Archie. Fly Betty, Fly! In fact the Archie/Betty/Jughead love triangle reminds me of Dawson’s Creek’s love triangle between Dawson/Joey/Pacey. And yes you guessed it, Jughead is Pacey. 😀

33ebf00a105eb36a103247e6dd45d303[1]

Here are some clips of the couple-

That first clip gets me every time, I love how he looks at her before he kisses her. Like he’s thinking about it, if you ask me, I think he’s liked her for a long time. That is definitely one of my favorite scenes. That last clip is also one of my favorites- they just had a pretty big fight and then this is their aftermath- she let’s down her walls and he just literally takes her darkness into his hands and kisses it, just being there for her. Brilliant and so so perfect. #Swooning

Season_1_Episode_7_Betty_Jughead_2[1]

Season 2 is sure to bring some serious drama and I won’t be surprised if they attempt to get Archie all fired up for Betty, but to contradict Kevin Keller, I believe Betty and Jughead are endgame. Bughead had some bumps in the road, and some trust issues, but they had some really great moments in the finale. Jughead confessed his love for Betty, while she did they same, taking them into their first sexual scene. I remember being like- *Gasp* Jughead! Betty! I didn’t know you had it in you. They seem so cute and reserved. Haha!

Anyway let’s just say their tryst was cut short, because something scandalous happens which of course throws a wrench in it all. Now that I breezed through Season 1 on Netflix, Welcome to me waiting for Season 2 like…

chandler[1]

Riverdale has it all…drama, teen angst, mystery, suspense, love (a great ship), friendship, writing, singing, and an interesting town!

Fun Fact: Kevin Keller ends up having a romance with this rough around the edges characters named Joaquin DeSantos. Haha that’s my last name, so crazy!

The Little Moments Count

As a self-proclaimed fangirl for television relationships. There is a certain frustration that we undergo. A frustration like no other. My fellow teen drama fangirls will feel me on this one… That moment when you feel like your “Ship” is sinking.

Ship:

Short for romantic relationship, popularized in fanfiction circles. To endorse a romantic relationship.

And in those dreadful moments of agony and pain and having to watch our favorite two characters be apart, we in turn look for those little moments. We live for those small glances, or the slightest touch of hands, or arm grazes. Moments when actions speak louder than words, and a simple glance or touch tells everything, tells the audience and these two characters that there’s still something there. Still a spark fizzing. As fangirls we love that crap.

In the spirit of love and loss and heartbreak, and my obsession with TV couples, let’s look at some of these beautifully places little moments between some of my favorite couples.

1.)

Couple: Dr. Robin Scorpio & Dr. Patrick Drake [General Hospital]

Ship Name: Scrubs (but my best friend and I call them Ratrick!)

Back story: In these compilation scenes Robin and Patrick are working at the hospital and Robin has just told Patrick she’s pregnant. The two broke up recently due to the fact that Robin wants to have a child and Patrick does not ever want to have a child. They are madly in love but want different things. Robin had a plan to go at it alone and find a sperm donor and have her own child, and raise it as a single mother. That was her plan. But plans change, and during an emotional night she and Patrick fall into old habits and Robin ends up pregnant. However, knowing his outlook of settling down and family life, Robin doesn’t want to tell Patrick the baby is his and lets him think she went along with her original plan. So in this scene he finds out she’s pregnant and he can’t help put stare at her in a new light.

Scene: Robin catches Patrick staring at her

Robin: “What now?”

Patrick: “I don’t know.”

Why I love it: This scene is so loaded and they barely speak. Just the idea that Patrick knows she’s pregnant and thinks it’s not his, but yet can’t put his finger on why he feels this pull to stare, it means he’s still invested. He even says “I just wonder what would be going through my head, if that child was mine.” In later episodes you get the feeling that he may have in fact had a feeling that maybe just maybe it actually was.

Couple Update: This scene was years ago like circa 2007/08 ish. And since then they have had a baby, gotten married, gone through infidelity, been nearly divorced, Robin “died”, then she came back, then she left again and then they really got divorced and then when both actors were leaving the show, they reunited them, they got remarried and exited as a family. So end result, the scrubs ship is still intact.

2.)

Couple: Detective Dante Falconeri & Lesley Lu Spencer “Lulu” [General Hospital]

Ship Name: Lante

Back story: In this scene Dante catches a glimpse of Lulu in a wedding dress, and you can tell it takes his breath away. The two have just recently broken up do to the fact that Dante continuously keeps crucial details from Lulu. Unfortunately the secret he was keeping wasn’t his to tell and involved Lulu’s brother and a case Dante was working on. His job often puts a weight on his relationship with Lulu and leaves her feeling like she isn’t a priority. She can’t trust him. But in this scene you realize they still do love each other. And even though they out right say the words, the simple fact that Lulu was trying on the wedding gown and the look on Dante’s face when he saw her was enough proof.

Scene: Dante “sees” Lulu in a wedding dress.

Dante: “It’s nice, it’s really nice, maybe it’s just cause it was in front of you.”

Why I love it: I love this scene so much because this is a girl who has had trust issues her whole life, but has fallen so in love and has felt the urge to venture into the idea of marriage with a man who even though they are broken up she still loves and feels pulled to looking at what she would seem like as a bride. The break up causes her anti-marriage talk when Dante stops by. But his thoughts of marriage challenge her sinicism as they both admit they still love each other. And later Lulu is scene looking at the dress again. There’s hope there.

Couple Update: Dante actually proposes a few days later, and Lulu is shocked and confused. She tells him she needs to think about it and when she decides she wants to say yes, Dante ends up getting shot, catapulting us into a long drawn out journey. Lulu wrestles with the fact of being a cop’s wife and the on and on that is Lante continues. Finally they get engaged, they get married, she thinks she’s pregnant, finds out she can’t have kids, have a baby boy through a surrogate (that’s a crazy story all on its own), Dante cheats, they divorce and now they are actually back together and thinking about a second child. *The original Lulu left the show and has been recast. My heart still hearts. End result ship is still intact.

3.)

Couple: Joey Potter and Pacey Witter [Dawson’s Creek]

Ship Name: Ship names weren’t a thing yet.

Back story: In this scene Pacey has developed an intense crush on Joey, they went from bitter banter, to really good friends. And here Pacey is laying the guilt trip on Joey about not coming to the opening night of the play he’s starring in. She’s been helping him rehearse and learn his lines and she can’t come because she’s got a date with a college guy. Pacey is clearly jealous, and it is a beautiful thing to watch. With his funny, witty, rapid fire dialogue. That “the first thing he’s going to do when he walks through that door is pay you some lame ass compliment about how incredible you look tonight” quote slays me. She’s slightly clueless, but soon enough she’ll catch the hint.

Scene: Jealous Pacey

Pacey: “You do suck for not being there don’t cha.”

Why I love it: I love how he’s so non-chalant and his typical witty, firecracker self but it’s obvious that there’s more and in this time we have seen him develop feelings for her and the audience knows that this is jealousy. Not just a friend needed his friend to support him. I just love love love Pacey. He cracks me up.

Couple Update: Soon after this seen Pacey finally kisses Joey which leads her to question her whole life existence and puts her in a position of choosing between Dawson and Pacey. The love triangle of all love triangles. End result she ends up picking Pacey and setting sail with him on his boat for a whole summer, the couples goes strong for quite some seasons and then they break up shortly after they become intimate. Joey heads off to college and soon ends up exploring a relationship with Dawson after all these years. Pacey and Joey soon find their way back to each other and it seems like things may start up again when they are older, but they don’t quite end up there, until Jen’s death leads them to evaluate their mistakes and as the gang reunites years and years later, Pacey and Joey have a serious conversation about Joey’s need to keep running from her real feelings. In the end of the series shows Joey and Pacey together in her New York apartment as they watch Dawson’s newest TV show’s finale together. End result ship intact and friendships mended.

 4.)

Couple: Ross Geller & Rachel Green

Ship Name: Ship names weren’t a thing yet and even so it gets tough when there’s two R’s!

Back story: In this scene Ross had just become a father (co-parenting with his ex-wife carol and her lesbian lover Susan…crazy…I know, haha) And he and the gang are looking at all these pictures of the baby, as Rachel leans over Ross’ shoulder, pressing against him, Ross can’t help but lean in and drift into Rachel land. And you know he was smelling her hair! It’s the cutest damn thing ever.

Scene: The Ross Look @2:09

Rachel: “Oh god is he just the sweetest thing, you must just want to kiss him all over.”

Ross: “That would be nice.”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6iwjehW58YM

Why I love it: The way Ross looks at Rachel for all of seasons 1 & 2 is how every girl dreams of being looked at. And she is mostly clueless. It’s a puppy dog, “I’ve been in love with you for 10 years notice me already” look that just completely melts your heart. And you instinctively start rooting for Ross to get the girl.

Couple Update: Ross and Rachel have more ups and downs than any other couple in the universe. They were rarely ever on the same page at the same time. Rachel for years is in the dark about Ross’ feelings and when she finally finds out, Ross has finally moved on. And it’s Rachel’s turn to pine over “this really great guy she can’t have.” When a drunken Rachel leaves a message on his machine about needing closure, Rachel is forced to confront her feelings and in turn Ross is faced with a choice. Rachel and Ross date on and off for years, they we were on a break storyline sends us into a difficult time as Ross sleeps with another woman during a breakup. Rachel finds out and the two have difficulties remaining friends. Throw in another marriage for Ross, another divorce for Ross and then a quicker drunken Vegas wedding for Ross and Rachel and an annulment too. Eventually Monica and Chandler’s wedding approaches and we find out Rachel is pregnant, through the longest game of Baby Daddy Who Dunnit, we finally find out it’s Ross’ months of baby moments and sweet insinuations go by, but again nothing concrete happens until Ross is faced with losing Rachel for good when she gets a job offer to work in Paris. Cue the airport scene. End result- ship still intact.

5.)

Couple: Nathan Scott & Haley James Scott [One Tree Hill]

Ship Name: Naley

Back story: In this scene Lucas and Lindsay (the soon to be married couple) orchestrate their bachelor and bachelorette parties on the same night at the same place, in order to their estranged maid of honor and best man in the same room to talk. At this point Nathan and Haley are fighting because the psycho Nanny Carrie kissed Nathan and let it happen along with some flirtations. Haley found Carrie in the shower with Nathan (who thought she was Haley) and she freaked out kicking Nathan out, she has asked for a divorce at this point.

Scene: My best friend and I call this the “Super Star” Glare, because of the song that’s playing, haha. @2:16

Haley: “Your hearts were in the right place, you picked the right person to spend the rest of your life with, Luke.”

Lucas: “So did you.”

Why I love it: This eye exchange lasts only about 3 seconds, and yet it is one of my favorite Naley moments. There’s a love there that runs deep, and they are in such a bad place that things could go either way. And yet in that moment Haley is forced to find Nathan’s eyes staring at her. There’s a sadness as you see Nathan look away, ashamed. He knows he has been wrong, and he knows it’s going to have to be up to him to prove himself and fight for Haley. Because at this point her distance is cold and he’s losing her.

Couple Update: Shortly after this scene, Nathan and Haley reunite and start to mend their relationship and after that their relationship does remain pretty solid, they get through Haley’s depression when she loses her mother and they even have another baby, a girl named Lydia after her mom. End result- ship still intact.

6.)

Couple: Hanna Marin & Caleb Rivers [Pretty Little Liars]

Ship Name: Haleb

Back story: This is the scene that sparked the idea for this blog post. Hanna and Caleb were one of Pretty Little Liars stable high school couples. But as we know teen dramas like to break people up when they time jump 5 years. Something about making things seem “realistic,” enough already give the people what they want. We know high school sweethearts don’t always stay together, but let us just pretend they do, would ya? Anyway within this scene, Caleb and Hanna are of course working on some big plan to expose the latest big bad A. And this is the first time Hanna and Caleb have been face to face since Hanna broke off her engagement to what was his name again-Jordan? No one cares. And Caleb broke up with Spencer (yea he dated Hanna’s best friend, classy right?) Cue the ultimate fan girl frustration-when the guy in your ship acts beyond stupid and all you want to do is strangle him. So moving on, in season 6 Haleb had an intense moment where Hanna confessed to still loving Caleb and he was so moved by her confession that he kissed her. So when this scene between them happened I kind of died. Hanna had been hiding the fact that she broke off her engagement, because she knew Caleb and Spencer were having problems since she and Caleb kissed, she felt bad and she didn’t want to hurt Spencer. You believe that HANNA didn’t want to hurt SPENCER. Um Spencer I’m sorry do you know what girl code is? At all. Do you have any idea what that is? You don’t under any circumstance ever date your best friend’s ex. Caleb and Hanna were the real deal, first love, true love, still in love and Spencer knew that and yet she has the balls to call Hanna out and get angry at her. “I asked you, you told me you were ok with it.” Bitch you shouldn’t have even asked, I don’t care. Spencer hunny, you were so wrong. Caleb isn’t yours, he never was, and never will be. And Caleb, homeboy shame on you. Can you tell I’m all #TeamHanna. Anyway, rant over- in this scene Hanna and Caleb are both single and Hanna gestures toward some papers Caleb has been studying and he instinctively checks her left ring finger noticing it’s very very naked. Hanna is forced to then offer the fact that she and Jordan broke up.

Scene: The Naked Ring Finger

Hanna: “I wasn’t talking about him, we’re still friends right?”

Caleb: “Always.”

Why I love it: I love Caleb’s face when he sees Hanna’s naked finger, he stops talking as if the wind has gotten knocked out of him, and then trying to quickly recover, by talking “A” business. While, Hanna mauls over whether or not to let Caleb know the truth, offering up an emotional speech about how having someone in your life and then having to cut them out completely is like losing a part of you. When she admits she’s talking about Caleb, the glance the exchange was 3 seconds away from becoming a kiss. Damn you, Marlene King you’re killing us here! Honestly Hanna is the Alpha is this game their playing, she’s always putting people before herself, always taking care of people and their feelings, and she’s the one showcases her feelings first, even when it’s awkward and difficult. Caleb you need to step up your game if you want to be deserving of Hanna; the PLL Queen. 😀

Couple Update: Remains to be seen. But I have high hopes, those glares and stares aren’t for nothing. Caleb feels it too, I can tell. Hanna, get it girl. #BYESPENCER
