#BLOGTOBER Day 6- Witchy Reboots…

It seems like every where you turn, there is another 90’s tv show reboot. To be honest, I’m here for it ALL! I was born in the 90’s and I remember watching these shows and loving them, so these shows are basically my childhood. Nostalgia is so good, sometimes.

As I mentioned in a previous post, Charmed is coming back to The CW (formerly known as The WB) with three new young witches with many new adventures to face and evil to conquer. Looks kind of good, I’m going to see if it holds up to the original. Because I used to love the original. My best friend and I used to “Play Charmed.” Where we would each  pick one of the witches to be and create spells and cast them. We often fought over who would be Prue or Phoebe, but let’s be real eventually we loved Piper because she’d get candle lit dinners with White Lighter Leo. 😉 #BESTFRIENDINSIDEJOKES

Combs, Milano, McGowan

The original premiered in 1998 and starred Shannen Doherty as Prue, Alyssa Milano as Phoebe, Holly Marie Combs as Piper, and Rose McGowen as Paige. Doherty’s character dies in Season 3, which is why they had McGowen show up to take the place of the third witch in the Halliwell family trio. The Series aired for 8 seasons on The WB.

Check out the Reboot Trailer below:

The synopsis reads:

Mel and Maggie Vera suffer a shock when their mother dies suddenly, but before they have time to heal from their loss, another surprise shows up on their doorstep in the shape of an older sister — brilliant geneticist Macy — whom their mother never told them existed. The emotional stress takes its toll and the girls begin to exhibit impossible new abilities. An explanation comes from an unexpected place: the new chair of the women’s studies department. Harry Greenwood reveals that the three are powerful witches, and he is their white lighter, there to advise and guide them as they battle dark forces.–[Via Wikipedia]

The idea of this reboot seems relatively similar to the original so I’m interested to see how this plays out. I want the key components of the original, but not an instant copy, and they’ve already changed things up by casting three Latina actresses. Cheers from a fellow Latina! I think this could be really cool. However, the reboot did get backlash from the original actresses, when the reboot proclaimed itself as “Fierce, Funny and Feminist.” OG fans seem to be in agreeance and are skeptical to watch. Alyssa Milano also spoke to Entertainment Tonight saying, “I wish that they would have come to us and we would have been involved since the beginning…But having said that, I do hope that it reaches the newer generation and impacts that generation the way ours was able to do for its generation.” As an OG fan, I feel that the original witches were 4 badass FEMINIST women, but that doesn’t mean we can’t leave room for these new actresses to claim their own feminist badassery. At least they aren’t stepping into the same exact character roles, trying to be something they aren’t. So hey, let’s just give it a chance, shall we? No matter what- Milano, Doherty, Combs and McGowan will always be our original Charmed ones.

The Reboot airs Sunday, October 14th @ 9 PM on The CW

NEXT UP...

The latest 90’s sitcom to be revived is- Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Well sort of…let’s dive in.

The original live action TV series premiered in 1996, and starred Melissa Joan Hart as Sabrina Spellman. The show follows Sabrina Spellman – a teenager with magical powers who comes from a long line of witches. Until going away to college, she lived with her wacky aunts, who would teach her to use her witchcraft wisely, and Salem, the talking black cat, who always has a scheme up his paw. As a high-school student, Sabrina is less judicious about using her powers than when she enters adulthood. The series is  said to be based on a 1960s Sabrina, a spinoff of the Archie comic franchise, and an animated TV series that originally aired in the 1970s. –[Via Wikipedia.]

The original live action tv sitcom (1996) was funny, and light hearted, even the scariest of adventures had some humor attached, very kid friendly. I remember some of my favorite episodes were the ones where Britney Spears, and *NSYNC guest starred/made musical appearances. Another would be when Brian Austin Green played Sabrina’s Boyfriend for the night-yes they created a dough boy and basically baked her a boyfriend! Seriously I wish I was able to point my finger and be dressed and ready, or to zap myself to work, without the travel. Witches man! LOL.

The sitcom aired for 7 seasons on ABC and The WB and included two television movies and one soundtrack release. The series is also said to be outside the Archie comics.

Thanks to my free Hulu trial I get to 90’s it up! Hey remember that time DJ Tanner (Full House/Fuller House) played a psycho cult witch and then Sabrina visited Philly in Boy Meets World…SO good! I’ll be watching that episode on Hulu asap. Been on a bit of a Boy Meets World/Sabrina the Teenage Witch throwback kick.

This Sabrina Witch storyline has been revived/readapted several times, across several mediums. Comic book, Animation, Live Action TV sitcom, cartoon/animated series, films, and now it’s being given a darker, Netflix twist.

Sabrina: The Animated Series

In 1999, Hart provided the voice of Sabrina’s two aunts for Sabrina: The Animated Series, while Emily Hart (Melissa’s younger sister) voiced the character of Sabrina. This series lasted one season and produced 65 episodes, the television/direct-to-video movie Sabrina: Friends Forever, and the continuation-spinoff series Sabrina’s Secret Life. –[Via Wikipedia]

In 2011, Archie Comics announced plans to produce a new animated series based on Sabrina the Teenage Witch to be released in late 2012. The show featured CGI animation that was produced by MoonScoop, and a brand new look for the Sabrina characters. As of October 2012, The Hub has picked up the series, and it finally debuted on air on October 12, 2013. –[Via Wikipedia]

Not to mention the many Sabrina books!

NEW SABRINA NEWS!!!

Riverdale (2017 TV series-The CW)
On July 23, 2016, at San Diego Comic-Con, K.J. Apa, who portrays Archie Andrews in the darker, subversive live action take on Archie, confirmed that Sabrina will eventually appear in the CW series. Sabrina was originally slated to debut in the show’s season one finale, but this was eventually decided against, as showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa said it would’ve distracted from the rest of the episode, though she is still being considered for a later season.–[Via Wikipedia]

This could be really cool.
I wonder who will play her?

sabrina-caprenter-eyes-wide-open-music-video-dress-06_1-800x800[1]

Sabrina Carpenter??? I could totally see her on Riverdale and her name fits the role! Or they may opt to do a crossover with Kiernan Shipka, who knows!

*Read the FULL Sabrina history HERE

Check out the trailer for the latest Sabrina journey-

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, where Kiernan Shipka (will be taking on the role of Sabrina Spellman.)

The synopsis reads:

Her name is Sabrina Spellman.

Half witch. Half mortal. On her 16th birthday, Sabrina (Kiernan Shipka) has to make a choice between the witch world of her family and the human world of her friends. With her aunties (Miranda Otto, Lucy Davis), her cat Salem, and her boyfriend Harvey Kinkle (Ross Lynch), Sabrina will face horrors and new adventures in the mysterious town of Greendale. From the executive producers of Riverdale comes a haunting new tale. –[Via Released by Netflix]

From the trailer I can definitely see the Riverdale esque influence. To be honest I didn’t even know the character Sabrina was based on an Archie comic. I was never a comics kid, but I loved TV, (clearly still do!) Being a kid in the 90’s, Melissa Joan Hart was my Sabrina. Although all Hart’s Sabrina related content (Live Action TV series, Animated Series, Films) was considered “outside the Archie comics,” it does still say she was based off the original Archie comic character. So I’m guessing it’s a loose adaption. Hart was the Sabrina I know and love, as she is for many. So now I can understand the difference in direction for this Netflix reboot, it isn’t based on the 90’s sitcom. However, wasn’t Archie more humorous and silly? Where is this darkness coming from? But then again I wasn’t an Archie comic reader.

WAIT!!!!

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is an American comic book series published by Archie Horror, an imprint of Archie Comics, beginning in 2014. The series focuses on Sabrina Spellman during her teenage years in the 1960s. The series is a darker take on the characters and setting of Sabrina the Teenage Witch.— [Via Wikipedia]

NOW I GET IT….DUH???

I know I’m intrigued just to see the same few characters pop back up. Looks really cool!

The Reboot Premieres Friday, October 26th. Only on Netflix.

#BLOGTOBER Day 3- My Fall 2018 TV Schedule

tv

Fall is the time where all the returning shows start their season premieres, or when the new shows have their series premieres. And it is seriously like Christmas morning to me.  This year there are a few newbies and some good oldies that I’ve invested a few seasons in already. It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Warning…I watch ALOT of tv, it’s my favorite form of storytelling. I love getting to know characters and having them be there every week with new adventures. Hey it’s research! One day I’m going to have my own TV show, that’s the dream!

day 2 sneak peek

I try to watch live as much as I can, because I hate spoilers and I like the sense of community. #Livetweeting for the win! But sometimes I just can’t, because life and well sometimes I have to actually #Adult. But I usually catch up when I can, thanks to free on demand, and the internet. Here’s a peek at what I’m watching this fall season…

MONDAYS

The Resident @ 8 PM FOX *New for me [On it’s 2nd Season]

Dk17DB7U0AA4nrI.jpg-large [www.imagesplitter.net][1]

Oh man oh man, so this show just started it’s second season and I had seen a bunch of promos for it. Of course it peeked my interest because Matt Czuchry (Logan from Gilmore Girls) and Emily VanCamp (Amy from Everwood & Emily/Amanda from Revenge) are in it! But I figured it was a hospital drama and it would break my heart just like Grey’s Anatomy did. So I kind of strayed away. And then one day YouTube happened, and I started to watch a few clips and I quickly realized that I was going to be in LOVE with Czuchry’s character, Conrad Hawkins. He’s basically a younger/sexy version of Dr. House. He uses unconventional methods to save his patients lives, and he’s lovably arrogant. He’s a third year resident supervising new first years, and he has one rule “He is always right.”  Very rough around the edges because he had a rough go at childhood and served in the marine corps as a medic. I love how he doesn’t even wear full scrubs he just wears the shirt and black jeans and combat boots, with his beaded and leather bracelets and chains and bolt like rings, and tattoos. He’s just so damn cool, I can’t take it.

However he really cares about his patients and will break any hospital rule (especially when it involves billing and insurance) to help save them. Just the way he walks is amazing. It’s like a strut.

I LOVE him, and even more so, I love his relationship with VanCamp’s character Nurse Nicolette “Nic” Nevin. You know if there’s a love story, complexities and all…I am ALL IN!

Thanks to hulu I just finished Season 1 and caught up on the first two episodes of Season 2. I will admit it’s my current obsession. This happens when I find a new tv show, I just can’t stop thinking about it. LOL. Season 1 was really strong and I am so happy I gave in and watched it.

The show takes place in Chastain Park Memorial Hospital in Atlanta Georgia, and it drops us in the middle of these character’s lives, so there is a lot of backstory still left to uncover. Especially when it comes to Conrad and Nic’s relationship. It’s really interesting because I’m used to seeing these relationship stables play out- when did they meet? Who asked who out? What’d they do on their first date? When did they first say I love you? When did they have their first love scene? SO MANY QUESTIONS!!!! But I kind of like how they are showing their relationship unfold. It’s very cool.

In college I had a college writing professor who used to always tell us to “tell it later,” I would always get so frustrated, because I felt like I wanted to tell it now, from the beginning. But as I grow older and watch tv shows and see how they differ in their storytelling, I totally see the appeal of dropping your audience smack dab in the middle of a couple’s complex relationship. For instance in the pilot, the first scene we see between Nic and Conrad is him pulling her into a room and kissing her, telling her he’ll do “whatever it takes to get her back.”

original[1]

SWOON! It leaves us wanting more. Nicely played FOX. I’m hooked.

I don’t mean to go off on a tangent on this one show, but it’s a new one for me, so I have to get the obsession feels out! I also really like the way the show is shot. Very  hand held, snory cam- at times first person shots. The music they use is pretty dope too. For instance in Season 2, they used these two songs and I am obsessed!

I think I may need to do a full on review of this show so I will just stop rambling here and move on…

TUESDAYS

New Amsterdam @ 10 PM NBC *NEW Series [1st Season]

All these doctor shows coming in and taking over…another doctor who is not a fan of billing or the medical system and is trying the fight for patients, you may think it’s the same as every other doctor show but…there is a mega twist at the end of the pilot…watch and wait for it…

This Is Us @ 9 PM NBC [3rd Season]

You guys…come on now, do I even have to explain how good this show is. I would just like to meet these writers and directors and creators and just give them a standing ovation because, the way they let these stories unfold is just brilliant. I cry almost every week, but it’s still just such moving television.

WEDNESDAYS

Riverdale @ 8 PM The CW [3rd Season]

Chicago PD @ 10 PM NBC [6th Season]

THURSDAYS

Will & Grace @ 9 PM NBC [2nd Season Reboot]

How To Get Away With Murder @ 10 PM ABC [5th Season]

FRIDAYS

Dynasty @ 8 PM The CW [2nd Season]

SATURDAYS

FREE DAY! (Catch up day?) haha

SUNDAYS

Supergirl @ 8 PM The CW [4th Season]

Charmed @ 9 PM The CW [*New Series Reboot]

We shall see how this holds up to the original…I loved the original!

YOU @ 10 PM Lifetime [*New Series]

This show is so good, and is so creepy you just can’t help but be intrigued by what’s going to happen next. It takes stalker to a whole new level.

Happy Watching…what are you guys watching this fall?

Hallmark’s When Calls The Heart

I think I’ve made my love for Hallmark love stories pretty clear over the past few years here on this blog. Recently, I just got hooked on Hallmark’s Sunday night series-

600x600bb-851

I remember seeing commercials for it here and there and always wondering about it. It wasn’t until my Titi Patricia told me she watched it on Netflix and loved it, that I was like- uh oh time to binge. And binge I did. Just in time for the 4th season premiere this February 19th!

Funny thing is Netflix only has 2 seasons available so I had to search my but off and watch the third season on YouTube- audio edited and small screen. But hey when your obsession grows, you do what you gotta do. Hats off YouTube. #InternetLoopHoles

Let me hit you with a little Wiki info to catch you up to speed:

When Calls the Heart is a Canadian-American television drama series, inspired by Janette Oke’s book When Calls the Heart from her Canadian West Series.

It tells the story of Elizabeth Thatcher (Erin Krakow), a young teacher accustomed to her high-society life. She receives her first classroom assignment in Coal Valley, a small coal-mining town in Western Canada which is located just south of Robb, Alberta. There, life is simple—but often fraught with challenges. Elizabeth charms mostly everyone in Coal Valley, except Royal North West Mounted Police Constable Jack Thornton (Daniel Lissing). He believes Thatcher’s wealthy father has doomed the lawman’s career by insisting he be assigned in town to protect the shipping magnate’s daughter. The town of Coal Valley was renamed Hope Valley in Season 2 after the coal mine was closed.

cpb6yn8vuaa4jjj1

Living in this 1910 coal town, Elizabeth must learn the ways of the Canadian frontier movement if she wishes to thrive in the rural west on her own. Lori Loughlin portrays Abigail Stanton, a wife and mother whose husband, the foreman of the mine, and her only son—along with 44 other miners—have recently been killed in an explosion. The newly widowed women find their faith tested when they must go to work in the mine to keep a roof over their heads, food on the table, and compile a wage for the town’s teacher. -Wikipedia.

Needless to say I watched the first episode and fell in love with it’s heart. No pun intended. It’s a show about a small town, so immediately  I was invested. It’s set in 1910 and you know my love for older generations is strong. Aunt Becky…is in it…and she is a total badass, so um there’s that!

7c80f88662a19f44abbbb30ef3b495721

And don’t even get me started on the clothing….I am three seconds away from hosting a corset wearing party! I am obsessed!

when-calls-the-heart-elizabeth1

However, my favorite part of this show…as you know, has to be… the love story between Elizabeth and Jack. It starts off as a rocky relationship, there is clearly an attraction but they have a love/hate thing going on for a bit. This is when I realize that I may have been born in the wrong decade. Although I am a proud 90’s baby forever and always, the old ways of courtship is something that just warms my heart.

jack-quote1

The days of waiting and taking time to get to know someone’s heart. Not rushing. Simple dates. Simple glances. Simple touches. Oh the moments. The small looks and sayings make me swoon.

My sister in law always makes fun of me, “what do you expect a guy to do, come up to you and ask for your hand?”

Yes. Yes I do. When did that go out of style? 😉

Jack Thornton doesn’t always get it perfect, he stumbles like every guy, but there are times he shines brighter than the sun.

Let me count the ways:

Can we talk about how cute she is fanning herself after watching him chop wood?

“Elizabeth please do consider this a sign of courtship.” And he kisses her hand. OMG *swooning all over the place*

“That was just a guess.” #SLICKRICK

He painted a hidden message within the backdrop he painted for her class play, he also never told her he was the one who painted it.

“And I’ve been told no one messes with Ms. Thatcher.”-Pastor Frank talks to townsfolk about sharing the church with the school children. Everyone knows how protective Jack is over her.

The I love you exchange.

The little arm rub @3:00 mark of the season 2 video. I’m obsessed!

The Mountie Christmas Ball he put together for her after they had to cancel their plans to go to the real one.

3388362517001_5257531665001_5257403403001-vs1

He built her a church/school.

“May I…”- he is always so polite.

He’s also made a few subtle innuendos to a more “physical” relationship.

After she gets trapped under some beams in the coal mine, Jack asks to take a look at her knee and later says something like- “Well now that I’ve seen your knees…” Sooo scandalous!  I love it! haha 😉

He also makes mention to having  to sleep in the barn, and Elizabeth apologizes for the uncomfortable conditions, while he asks “Was there another option?” and she just looks at him stunned and says “No.” It cracks me up how cute he is, he’s not disrespectful, he never tries to push the issue, but it’s clear he loves her and is interested in being with her. She flusters easily which makes it all the more sweeter. Their playfulness is adorable.

He gets jealous of any other man who is in her life-Billy Hamilton, or Charles, her “friendly” neighbor. If looks could kill.

“Keep your man busy, so he won’t be in a tizzy, I read Rosemary’s column too!” -Jack basically wants to help Elizabeth repair her new road house and she wants to be able to do it all herself, so she seeks some advice from Rosemary, who tells her to keep Jack busy with menial tasks this way he won’t bother her to help. YOUR MAN. I love it!

He bought land for them to build a house on as a surprise. He was a bit thrown when she bought her own road house, and wanted to come help her every chance he got.

Troubled Hearts

“Are you going to marry Constable Thornton?” Oh that smirk he has when he hears her answer! SO CUTE!

“You are going to make a terrific mother one day.”

They have many conversations about convincing/encouraging each other through kissing or keeping each other warm. –

I think you have enough fire wood for two years.”

“Well at least we’ll be nice and warm.”

“You know there are other ways to stay warm.”

Troubled Hearts

He is HER Mounty.

let-us-ride1

My favorite episode is when Elizabeth agrees to watch a neighbor’s kids while he is away and they get a chance to experience what life would be like if they got married and had children. There’s scene where he teaches her how to pump water which is adorable and there’s a scene where he watches her help the little boy go to sleep, and this scene below where he mentions starting a family one day and curling up by the fire with someone he loves.

jack-and-elizabeth-by-fire1

They are very close to getting engaged I think. He has a ring already, and I think he is just waiting for the right time. She certainly expects it. And I love how he kind of has this sweet joking charm. He likes to mess with her. But I have every hope that when he does propose it will be very special and a dream come true for Elizabeth. I just hope her high society snooty family will get on board.

I wonder if they will let them have a proper love scene. We have seen their courtship grow and blossom into a love that’s pure, safe and true. And I know that the show is very family friendly, but I for one believe that the fans deserve to see their love reach a new level. I can’t wait to see how they handle the proposal, the wedding and their new love life together.

no-finale-poll1

Someone caught the bouquet, we know what that means!

Another thing I adore is the comradery between the people of this little town, especially the women. They are so strong and really rally in times of joy and in times of need and tragedy. All the women have lost so much and have really  risen above and shown such grace and strength and hope in the face of such pain. Each woman is a force to be reckoned with. Abigail is truly the source of the town hope. She is such a total badass. She even leads them into the coal mine to help the women keep to help pay off their homes.

whencallstheheart28_thumb1

Elizabeth is taking on that nature as well, as she is proving to herself that she can step outside her comfort zone of wealthy privileged city life and do for herself. She is constantly telling Jack not to “check in on her.” But he does anyway, which I kind of love anyway, because he knows she’s capable but he just loves her so much that he needs to check in on her anyway.

When Calls The Heart

Elizabeth is such a beautiful spirit. She is a teacher and a writer, which I relate to and find a comfort in. And she believes women can do anything, which I am all for. She cares and loves deeply and is a character I truly admire. She teaches that girls can do anything!

whencallstheheart-s3-41906dcbi5bp1

I also love how female empowerment is being implemented throughout the show. Girls in the city life are taught to be wed by a certain age and take on a certain lifestyle of “taking care of their man.” Studying and becoming lawyers or holding their own titles are heard of seldom. There’s a woman lawyer who kicks ass!

When Calls the Heart 2001 Final Photo Assets

And Rosemary a theater Mongol serves as an advice columnist in town who really throws the women for a loop when she urges them to expect things from their men instead of allowing their men to expect from them. One of her quotes were “There are so many things in this world that are taboo, a love between a woman and her husband, should not be one of them.” Yea girl. Preach.

f24bd6c7b89e0f020cda8ff893dc69571

In a nutshell. I love this show. Season 4, I’m ready for ya! I am officially a fan. Can I join the #hearties? I can #partylikeaheartie

Fall Premiere Highlights

Last week I shared with you my Fall TV show schedule. This week a few of those shows premiered and there was some seriously good stuff! Here are a few highlights.

Chicago PD- Highlights

*Jay asks Erin to move in with him

“Cases come and go, Bosses come and go, Jobs come and go. I don’t want you to come and go.” *Kiss

First of all Erin wakes up from a bad dream in Jay’s bed, so yea there’s that. #TheyBasicallyLiveTogetherAlready and then Jay comes to her and drops this emotional bomb on her, kisses her and walks away. #LoveDrop I mean every single girl swooned. Second of all his concern for her is overwhelmingly beautiful. Jesse Lee Soffer, does protective boyfriend really well. I love how he doesn’t sugar coat his feelings, his eyes water, his voice lowers, their eye exchange after the “move in with me,” is fire! And her head is spinning! And then he kisses her AT WORK! (unheard of)  If you know their characters you know they are partners and Erin is dealing with a serious issue involving Voight the sergeant of the intelligence unit. Voight’s son was killed last season and he went after the guy and killed him and buried his body hiding it from the rest of the police department. Erin knows this but has kept to herself because Voight got her off the streets when she was a teen and took her in, giving her a better life. He’s basically the dad she never had. While the commander is looking for Voight’s head on a platter, Erin is the first person they go to for the real story, and her job is on the line. Jay is trying to be there for her in these scenes and trying to make sure she doesn’t go down with him. Mind you, these two haven’t said I love you yet, but I mean come on. It’s pretty obvious Jay is all there. I just hope Erin doesn’t let him slip away.

How To Get Away With Murder- Highlight

*Oliver breaks up with Connor

“We’re the best relationship that I know.”

“Well then that’s really sad.”

“How is that sad, I love you Oliver.”

“I love you. I love you so much.”

“Ok now you’re scaring me.”

“Just hey let me say this…”

This is a highlight not because I am happy about it, because quite frankly I adore this couple and this scene broke my heart. But it was so well written and so beautifully portrayed that you can feel the emotion between these two men and how deep of a love they have for each other. There is this strange role reversal (which you will gather if you know the characters), in which Connor (who should be upset over Oliver’s actions) is calm, collected and forgiving while Oliver is the one who is upset at Connor for not being upset at him. There’s no fight really, there’s a deep deep discussion about their relationship and about the weight it has over the two of them. There is simple, yet heavy heartbreaking emotion, in both of their reactions to each other. You can tell that Connor feels something life changing coming but he’s trying to sway it away. While, Oliver is pained to speak his truth. They aren’t screaming at each other, yet somehow the message is crystal clear. Oliver is in a state of identity crisis. Sometimes even though you may love someone, being with them may not be the best thing for you at that moment.

Blah Blah Blah. Cue the michelle leigh writes way…

Ah screw that, I’m a hopeless romantic, and I don’t buy that shit for real. Figure it out together, side by side, hand in hand. OLLIE WHAT ARE YOU DOING???? Seriously it’s amazing how Connor’s character has evolved from this big bad player to a man who is so in love and committed he’d do anything for Oliver. Jack Falahee, Bravo! These two are too good, not to last. Never mind the fact that Oliver is now going to be working with Connor everyday, yea we’ll see how long their break up lasts. #MakeupsAreTheBest

This Is Us

I saw the commercial and wanted to give it a shot. Mandy Moore & Milo Ventimiglia…I mean duh? I’m in! And it was BEAUTIFUL. What an amazing way to tell a story. I can’t even tell you anything because it will just ruin it. I want you to experience the beauty first hand. All I can do is tell you that I had this strong feeling that this show was going to be good, and it is really something special. A lot of great talent, a lot of familiar faces and just pure, brilliant storytelling and writing. I adored the premiere and I can’t wait to see what’s next.

Dissect A Scene: The “Burzek” Break Continues #ChicagoPD

Ok so I’m going to level with you here…this is more of a dissect an episode…based on all Burzek moments post engagement break up. This past Wednesday’s 3×13 episode of Chicago PD entitled “Hit Me,” was the first episode after Kim Burgess gave back the engagement ring Adam Ruzek proposed to her with. The break up scene was just that…breaking…heart breaking. And you can read my scene dissection on that particular moment HEREI think this break-up is seriously crushing my soul, tumblr_nvikeoUUHL1sp3bh6o1_1280[1]because I’ve been with this couple from the very beginning- from the awkward moments, to the flirtation, to the first “I Love You’s.” It’s been a joy to watch. So now that the two have broken up my Chicago PD is missing it’s Romance factor. And you know how I love my love stories! Sure, we still have Linstead (Detectives Erin Lindsay & Jay Halstead) and I love them, but they are a different kind of couple. They are in the very early stages of their relationship, and they aren’t as out with the PDA as Burzek was. Oh how it hurts to use the past tense. I have watched these scenes over and over. I have even rewatched the episode in it’s entirety. It doesn’t get any easier seeing these two apart.

Anyway… Here are the scenes:

In the first scene we see Burgess coming in and talking to Sergeant Platt about the agenda for the day. Burgess asks to talk to Platt in private once Platt busts out the obvious (that she and Ruzek broke up.) Now it’s been known that Platt and Burgess have had their weird bittersweet friendship since Season 1. Platt called the fact that Burgess and Ruzek wouldn’t make it to the altar, and she’s not really letting Burgess forget that. And now that Platt is engaged to Chicago fireman Mouch, she’s one upping Burgess as she plans her own wedding. But when Burgess asks Platt to sign off on a transfer out of the station, Platt throws her hands up and protests the decision. She surprisingly becomes a confident as she notices this whole situation is tearing Burgess apart. “Are you okay?” Platt asks followed by Burgess’ tearful “No.”

“You just sit here, and you feel what you need to feel,” Platt returns as she offers Burgess a chair. Marina shines in this vulnerable moment, and you can tell that underneath all the bluster and the hard times Platt gives Burgess, she actually deep down cares about her well-being and wants her to stick around. Burgess looks the part of a girl who just had her heart broken. Sure, she got up and managed to get dressed in her uniform, but her hair is in a laid back, messy, thrown up pony tail, her face and eyes are puffy and red, like she’s been crying all night. Yup sounds about right. All the while she strives to remain professional and do her job.

The second clip in this video, shows Ruzek and Atwater on an assignment for a case involving a casino. As they walk through they talk about the break up. Ruzek’s response to Atwater’s “Wait so it’s over…like over over?” is “I don’t know, you’re gonna have to ask her that. I mean she gave the ring back.” Ruzek’s later comment of “Anyway, moving on, right?” could be a red flag for our Burzek hearts, because it’s either let’s move on from this painful subject. OR I’m moving on from Kim Burgess. Judging by further scenes in this episode I’d say the first makes most sense. Adam Ruzek is clearly still very much in love with Kim Burgess.

This collection of scenes are the only interaction the two have since Burgess called things off. In the beginning we see Ruzek checking his phone, hoping for a call from her. Then we see him jump and turn at the sound of Burgess’ partner Roman’s voice, signaling he knew Burgess was in the room too. Burgess looks over at him awkwardly as he stares at her with puppy dog eyes and the saddest face ever. OH MY HEART! Seriously though Paddy is killing the puppy dog eyes this whole episode, I was just freaking out! (Legitimately kicking and screaming like a toddler.) Burgess looks away quicker than Ruzek, Ruzek’s stare lingers…which let’s be honest is WHAT WE LOVE about these break up story lines.

The following clip comes after Burgess and Roman just suffered a car crash while patrolling. Burgess is talking to a fellow cop, reporting what happened as we see a very determined Ruzek making his way toward her in a rather quick hasty fashion. He walks straight up to her, touching her face to check out the cut on her head. There’s really no hesitation on his part, as he asks her “Kim, are you okay?” Ruzek has always been very concerned about Burgess on the job since she got shot in Season 2. He always checks in on her, and he’s very protective, it’s the cutest freaking thing. You can tell that by the numerous times Ruzek’s made the same gesture when they were together.[See scenes 1, 2, & 3] The fact that he didn’t even think to do it again, shows he still loves her and still cares for her safety. Burgess on the other hand pulls back, making light of the accident and signifying she can’t take being this close to him. Ruzek grabs her shoulders and asks her how she’s doing with everything else- meaning the fact that they just called off their engagement- oh I don’t know- a day ago. Burgess again says she’s fine and asks how he is. In which Ruzek’s next response breaks Burzek hearts EVERYWHERE when he says “You’re fine. Really? Cause I’m terrible.” Let it be known that Ruzek looks kind of a wreck too, puffy face, full messy beard. Burgess responds to his honesty awkwardly by saying she’s sorry to hear that and then makes an excuse to walk away. Ruzek looks broken. Burgess looks flustered and equally broken. Though she hides it well.

This last scene is a scene between the two powerhouse women of the show; Kim Burgess and Erin Lindsay. I knew these two would be magic once they got a scene together. It’s about damn time! Look at Lindsay trying to play like she’s not also dating a fellow cop #Linstead. 😉 But seriously she did have a good point. Gender stereotypes and stigmas unfortunately do exist in many professions. Anyway what I love about this scene is how open Lindsay is. How she’s trying to be a friend to Burgess. And I love when she asks “Cause it’s that hard to see him at work every day?” And you can tell the hesitation in Burgess’ voice as she says “Cause I feel really guilty for calling it off, but it needed to be called off.” Which I think pretty much sums up the whole entire Burzek break.

I think that Burgess’ feelings are completely authentic. Her knee jerk reaction to transfer out is what anyone who just broke off their engagement would do. In fact if you watched this show since Season 1, you know that in Season 2 Burgess asks Ruzek-what if they ever broke up, and ended up hating each other, she mentions she’d probably transfer out. Of course Ruzek uses his charm to console her, as he just kisses her and tells her they aren’t breaking up. Looking back at that, AH, I JUST CAN’T. I want to cry. Poor Burzek! Oh the irony! Are you writers laughing in the writer’s room? 😉 She obviously still loves him, which is why this is so hard for her. In her mind she thinks there’s a reason behind Ruzek having such a relaxed approach to planning their wedding and their life together. And now seeing him and still having feelings for him makes it nearly impossible to try and move on (DON’T MOVE ON….PLEASE DON’T MOVE ON!) or just simply do her job. A job that basically puts your life on the line enough, she doesn’t need to be emotionally distracted and get hurt because as Voight likes to say “her heads not on straight.”

There were also a few other scenes not featured online.

Voight checks in with Ruzek-

12628081_1498097337164240_576597288_n[1]

During the case they are working on in Intelligence, Ruzek seems preoccupied the whole day. Voight calls on him for an update and Ruzek is so busy checking his phone yet again, that he doesn’t here Voight. After Voight gets his attention Ruzek supplies the update and as the others begin to clear the room, Voight asks Ruzek if he’s got “his head on straight.” Ruzek replies “Yea. I just didn’t see this coming. I feel like I let her down.” Voight responds “That’s not what I asked you.” While Ruzek answers “Yes. My heads on straight.” Voight responds “Okay.” With a pat on Ruzek’s back in understanding. THESE POOR COPS. It’s like they have to check their emotions at the door when they come to work. My god, I can only imagine the pressure. I mean people have to do things like that every day; separate their personal life from their professional. But when dealing with heart break and when you WORK WITH THE PERSON. I CAN’T. I have to admit though, from a writer’s stand point, this angsty stuff is GOLD. I just hate that sometimes the action and drama of the cases get in the way of the relationship stuff. I’m just hoping we don’t lose out on what this storyline can be, because they are too worried about delivering crazy cases and action packed scenes. It’s like okay we get it’s a cop show, but you just put our Burzek hearts through the mud, you better deliver that story FIRST. I don’t care about criminals doing stupid things. Not after you dumped this heartache on me. SHOW ME MY BURZEK LONGING STARES. SHOW ME THE TENSION!

Roman and Burgess chat on patrol-

roman and burgess

Roman and Burgess have a very buddy type friendship. (Let’s hope it stays that way!) And so when they were on a drive to check out a suspicious situation, Roman says “Hey if you don’t wanna talk about it, that’s cool. But my cousin Matty thinks you’re hot. I told him I didn’t see it. But he wants your number.” Burgess kind of just laughs it off. (THANK YOU BURGESS!)

Mouse tries taking Ruzek’s mind off of Burgess-

12545486_786086204869047_178748979_n[1]

Mouse (the tech guy) sees Ruzek having a few drinks at Molly’s. Ruzek looks down in the dumps, to say the least. Mouse saunters over with two girls by his side. He says something stupid like “Hey Adam I told Brynn here that you’re licking your wounds, turns out she is too.” Brynn sits down next to Ruzek (and instantly we hate Brynn) “So you’re a cop huh? You, must have a few crazy stories.” Adam says “Yea I got a few stories.” He then looks at her and asks “Brynn is it? I’m sorry I’m just not…” And he gets up to leave. Brynn looks unphased and says “No problem.” Adam walks out of the bar. Let’s put a new spin on “Bye Felicia”…”Bye Brynn.”  I LOVE THIS SCENE and I hate it at the same time. SERIOUSLY WHAT IS UP with all the forces trying to get these two to move on from each other. They JUST broke up. Give them a minute to breathe, and you know come to the conclusion that they love each other like crazy and can’t live without each other, and have to get back together. I love the scene because ordinarily Ruzek has a pretty flirty nature. But when he and Burgess got together, it was like she become his world. He really only focused on her. Seriously you have to see how he acted with her, always kissing her, always wanting to be with her, always complimenting her. Homeboy even COOKED for her. If that’s not love, I don’t know what is! And even now that she broke things off, he still can’t fathom flirting with some other girl. Like I said before I think we may be seeing a new side to Adam Ruzek. I just hope the writers don’t pull another irony boost and let Ruzek get drunk and sleep with some rando (same goes for Burgess!) WE DON’T WANT TO SEE THAT!

In a nutshell, I think Adam is completely unaware of what is really going on with Kim. I think he’s been too caught up in the engagement bubble, that he hasn’t been noticing the signs of her growing frustration. Or at least he wasn’t taking them as seriously as he should have. While Kim feels that she needs to let him go, because this isn’t what he wants. But both are heart broken by not being together. My advice is for Burgess to play the hard to get card a little bit, I think it’s working for her for right now. I think it’s making Ruzek think. But I also give Adam so much credit for confronting Kim. I love that he was so honest about his feelings. How he feels terrible that they aren’t together. Most guys would just pretend they were cool, and just remain stoic. I think there needs to be more of that honesty (on both of their parts.) I think Adam needs to fight for Kim, get her to talk to him. I think they need a little distance, but not so much that it makes one of them do something stupid, or makes one of them start to move on. I think Kim needs to let Adam in on why she did what she did, because guys aren’t prone to realizing what they do wrong. Or at least Adam isn’t, he honestly just seems completely lost in confusion. She also needs to hear him out and there definitely needs to be more communication. They need to talk, like really talk about what went wrong and why. And I am just dying for Ruzek to just be like “But I love you…” followed by a big emotional speech. YES. PLEASE.

Anyway I know that this was a lot of emotional rambling and kind of long winded. And a less than eloquent dissection. But I just needed to vent. This Burzek break is messing with my feelings guys. I feel so bad for both of them. “But Michelle, it’s just a TV show, it’s not real,” you may say. UM, I’m sorry do you know me? I love TV! I love storytelling. I love the arcs of a love story! I am a writer! This is my bread and butter. Taking this stuff seriously is part of my love for television and my passion for creating stories myself. Like I always say watching TV is my research for when I can one day write for my own. And yes it’ll be a drama, because duh? 😉

So writers please don’t let me down here. Give me something I can work with.

I have a feeling I’ll be back here analyzing more Burzek scenes, because this is what is going to get me through this Burzek Break. When in doubt, blog about it!

Until next time, friends.

Shonda Rhimes Gives New Meaning to Plot Twist.

So…am I the only one still freaking out over the How To Get Away With Murder season finale?

334732_1280x720[1]

So many twists and turns. And just when you thought you could breathe, something insane happens to make your mind reel in confusion, fear, and well…sadness.

*******SPOILER ALERT….. I’m about to discuss specifics so if you still haven’t seen it… (It’s Monday people, I waited to post this until Monday…so if you really haven’t seen it and plan to, either stop reading or GET ON THAT!)*******

"Bitch, you better watch it."

“Bitch, you better watch it.”

Watch the Trailer below it doesn’t even hold a candle to the actual epic episodes!

The How To Get Away With Murder season finale was not only one hour but TWO, so you can imagine we have much to discuss. This is going to be categorized very loosely as a review, but it’s basically me spilling my frazzled emotions. Join me won’t you?

If you want the abridged version of my initial thoughts on the finale read the following tweets…

If you want the longer more emotional version keep reading!

Lila’s true killer was revealed.

Someone else was murdered.

And well there’s some sexual tension and Viola Davis well, being the incredibly badass Annalise Keating.

"I said, watch it."

“I said, watch it.”

This episode was a complete and total mind f*ck. Excuse my French. But I truly don’t know how else to explain it. I must have shouted HOLY SHIT! And OH MY GOD! At least 50 times, all while crawling up on my couch. I’m a very animated TV watcher. How else should you watch TV? I mean really.

Ok so let’s get down to business.

Throughout the episode we flash between several cases. The first case is who actually killed Lila? What actually happened? Has Rebecca been lying this entire time? Or did Sam really kill Lila and put her in that water tank? And it isn’t until the very ending that we actually find out the truth. Cliffhanger, bitches. 😉

Rebecca has her obnoxious lie game on point. As she twists and turns her stories inside and out, and the Keating law students begin to lose their minds. Wes begins to realize the girl he’s been putting his future, his heart, his life on the line for may have just been using him all along. Cue the term “sleeping with the enemy.” Wes starts to question Rebecca’s story (uh it’s a little too late there buddy, you already threw Sam under conviction for killing Lila and killed him in the process…so um…there’s that.) Laurel reminds him of Rebecca’s short temper and urges him to “act normal.” Because I am sure it’s the easiest thing in the world for Wes to have sex and whisper I Love You’s to someone he thinks is a killer. But then again….Wes is a killer too (he clobbered Sam who was nearly choking Rebecca to death). So um match made in heaven? or psycho girlfriend and a boyfriend who just so happened to save her life? You decide.
In the mist of this ongoing who killed who case. Who killed Lila? Sam or Rebecca? Wes killed Sam. (We knew this) But now we have to deal with poor Nate going to jail for Sam’s murder. Damn Annalise you are one crazy biatch! Setting up your lover to save your students asses. And did we mention Sam is Annalise’s husband, yes we know this. But let it be known Annalise always has a plan; a hidden agenda if you will. Not only does she surprise us with every crazy new illegal action, she manages to fix things and get shit done. And in the process help the people she cares about. Example 1, in an attempt to get Nate out of jail she has her right hand man; Frank order a beating on him in prison. But it fails when she finds out Nate was put into solitary confinement instead of being relocated. Example 2, Annalise has Bonnie and Frank call in one of the law students; Golden Boy Asher to schmooze the female judge on the case. Causing her to be thrown off the case, due to a conflict of interest. What a harmless conversation with a friend’s son met by the production of a few sneaky photos will do to a judge’s reputation. This in turn got Nate a new judge who let him out on bail. Annalise you get us every time. Annalise then tries to right her wrongs by going to see Nate to explain what she has done and why she is now trying to help him. She gives him a number of a lawyer who will win his case.

800x533-2-624x415[1]

Now there’s current cases the Keating team is working on as well something about a pastor killing another pastor for molesting a young boy who ended up killing himself. So there’s that too. But in the grand scheme of things this case is really just the least of our problems. It’s a two hour finale, we know shit is going down, and it’s gonna be real. Shonda Rhimes doesn’t mess around.

Slowly but surely throughout the episode we get a true timeline of the events that led to Lila’s death. As true as the audience can believe them to be. Because this show will turn you out! They have lied to us, shocked the shit out of us, made us laugh, and made us cry…oh the rollercoaster of emotions! Seriously though what is behind the mind of one Shonda Rhimes, so depressing. You need a hug. Or a high five for being a damn good storyteller. Yea I’d high five you for sure. Never the less, in a rather shocking reveal, we see Rebecca’s story proven right; she didn’t kill Lila, but she did find her body and the evidence would have piled against her either way. But as Lila meets Sam on the roof (near the water tank) we see him confess his love for her, kiss her and then leave. Leaving us reeling with this new information that neither Sam nor Rebecca actually killed Lila. Instead we see Sam make a call to someone saying “I need you to do what we talked about, you owe me,” and a figure dressed in black choke Lila to death on the roof, reverse that angle and we see FRANK! What? Yes Frank, the same Frank that we’ve all secretly had a crush on, the same frank we think is both creepy yet hot for tumblr_ner6xvRiJO1sh0yuao1_500[1]getting his freak on with law student Laurel even though he’s done this with many other female students before her. But he seems to really like her. Frank, I actually liked you, and in a weird way I trusted you. I feel so betrayed! My money was on Bonnie as Lila’s killer or maybe even Annalise, just because I thought that would have been some crazy shit. Like what did Frank owe Sam? If anything Bonnie and Sam had some weird relationship that would have made more sense. But like everything in this show there are reasons we don’t even know exist. So it was Frank and now we know he’s a hit man. The very thing he got mad at Laurel for accusing him of. Laurel was right to dump his ass. What the even heck?

When all is revealed to the audience, Frank is still floating about all stealthy. As the Keating crew host their own trial for Rebecca. Wes struggles with whether or not to believe Rebecca. And they end up keeping Rebecca hostage in Annalise’s basement. In the end Annalise agrees no one has come up with a good enough testimony to convince her that Sam in deed did not kill Lila and that Rebecca did so she decides it’s time to let Rebecca go. The Keating gang begins to freak out worried she will go to the police. As they have all expressed their disdain for Rebecca and her web of lies. But as Annalise goes to free Rebecca we are welcomed by an empty basement and an open door. And Annalise wanting to know who freed her. All signs point to Wes. But I knew better, as it is later revealed that Annalise returned to the basement once again to find Frank. They discuss who did it? As the camera pans to a bloody and dead Rebecca in the corner hidden by some boxes. This I expected in a way. But I was still shocked too. I initially thought that it was Annalise who freed Rebecca and then I thought oh you know what maybe she’s hiding her and they’re gonna strike up a deal that will work for both of them. But no, boom Rebecca’s dead. Now Frank and Annalise do the whole I didn’t do it bit. Is that the kind of person you think I am? Yes Frank this actually is the person you are. We know this now. But Frank and Annalise were at the scene of the crime, so they would be a little obvious. So my money is on one of the kids. Wes already has Sam under his kill belt. Frank has Lila under his. And well Annalise may be the ringleader, but I just don’t think she has it in her to kill, at least not this early in the show…she is more of a fixer upper for the killers. And well all the kids (except for Asher) had a hand in helping Wes dispose of Sam’s body. My bet is on Michaela or Laurel for killing Rebecca. Laurel kept asking frank if he was going to “Take care of things” hence the whole hit man conversation. So maybe Laurel took it upon herself to take care of things. But she just doesn’t seem that diabolical. However, Michaela on the other hand has an evil streak. I can see it. Trying to be perfect for so long, in the mist of her trashy past is probably getting too much for her and she’s cracked. She even threated to “destroy” Rebecca. So hey maybe she did. All the kids are really just trying to cover their own asses so it could be anyone at this point. Or maybe Rebecca just overdosed on some Purple X. The same drug she gave her old dorm mate, that landed him in the mental hospital, poor Rudy. Yes Rebecca you may not be a killer, but you are a terrible person. R.I.P though.

working-together-how-to-get-away-with-murder-s1e2[1]While all the drama is going on in walks the beacon of light. The main reason I get so excited when I realize it’s Thursday night and How To Get Away With Murder is on. Yes, #coliver fans, I’m talking about the love story between our favorite men; Connor and Oliver. I don’t know what it is, but I just love these two. I blame Kurt and Blaine from Glee for making me obsessed with gay men in love. Haha. Hey, Love is love. The last time we saw Oliver and Connor, they were putting their “relationship” on hold. Why? Well let’s back track a bit… Connor met Oliver in a gay bar and hit on him only for the sole purpose of getting information for a case they were workingColiver-1-02-how-to-get-away-with-murder-37667329-245-170[1] on. When he found out Oliver was also a tech wiz and quite the hacker, he enlisted Oliver’s help with finding evidence for cases often. In exchange Connor was rather willing to repay Oliver in various scandalous ways. When we first meet Oliver you instantly have to like him. He is adorable, sweet, caring, and as time goes on you see how much he actually likes Connor. He’s kind of shy and slightly insecure but still has a really good grip on his self worth. Which silently kills us inside because we know Connor is a male slut, and hooks up with guy after guy, and we know Oliver is going to get hurt. And he does. All that being said Connor worms his

Asher being Asher.

Asher being Asher.

way back into Oliver’s on the night of Sam’s heinous death. The death and cover up all the Keating law students had a hand in (except poor insanely annoying Asher). Connor comes to see Oliver at 6 in the morning, a mess and clearly shaken; unable to breathe regularly. Oliver although upset with him for obvious reasons still lets him in, calms him down and lets him sleep it off. A few hours later Connor showers and feels slightly better, leaving a confused Oliver wanting some explanation. Connor lies and says he was high, and that he has a drug problem. This in turn leads to a supportive Oliver, who continues to hack for Annalise’s team on the side, and Connor begins to spend more time with him. It’s clear at this point how they both care for each other. But Oliver is still keeping Connor at arm’s length. He in some way suggests that Connor is hotter than him as a reason for Connor never introducing him to Annalise Keating and the other law students. Connor agrees to introduce him, but uses this as an in to let Oliver know he wants him back; “Fine I’ll introduce you, but what am I supposed to tell them, that you’re my maybe future boyfriend if you ever start trusting me again.” Boyfriend um, he said boyfriend, p.s. he also goes home to visit family during the holidays and tells his sister he has a boyfriend named Oliver. So um ahhhhhhh! But needless to say Oliver wasn’t having it just yet. Connor introduced Oliver to the kids at a bar later that night. Watch scene HERE. Drunk words are sober thoughts, Oliver. 😉 So back to the present, Connor and Oliver shine through the darkness and are essentially making out on Oliver’s couch. Only to have Oliver put the brakes on things and blurt out that they should get tested. A very reluctant but sexually frustrated Connor agrees. Throughout the episode we see a very nervous Connor, as he knows he has had many sexual partners in his past and isn’t always safe and smart about it. When Oliver finally calls him, Connor still doesn’t have his results as Oliver says he tested negative, Connor worries his doctor hasn’t left any messages for him because it’s bad news. However during his case work, Connor blurts out to Asher that his doctor called and he tested negative. When Connor comes home to a dark, silent apartment, Oliver is lying in bed crying. Connor finds out Oliver tested positive. And that my friends, out of all the big reveals was the one that affected me most, that really got to me. Everything seemed fine and then boom, heartbroken. I think for me this was the biggest shock, a quiet storm that snuck up on us just when we thought our love birds were in the clear to be happy and together again.

tumblr_static_tumblr_static_1s5fbwz6uzdwswgsssks0gss8_640[1]Yes I get Connor would have been obvious, but I honestly even as a writer, and an avid tv watcher, I did not see it being Oliver at all. I did not see this couple taking on this storyline at all. What a freaking twist. It’s heartbreaking, but it’s a story that needs to be told I guess. I’m interested to see how this will play out. I am eager to see how each of these big reveals will play out, but the Connor and Oliver reveal is what I’m most worried about. It was kind of vague as to what exactly Oliver tested positive for. They were tested for STDs and HIV. But during the guy’s conversation Oliver says “1 in 5 gay guys is HIV positive and half of them don’t even know about.” Watch scene HERE. So something tells me it’s HIV, but I’m hanging onto hope that maybe it’s just a curable STD. None of it is to be made light of though, regardless of Oliver’s diagnosis. What’s crazy to be is that Oliver is the

monogamous one. And he seems like the very reliable, responsible type. After all it was his idea to get tested to be safe, because of Connor’s extensively colorful sexual history. And yet Connor skates by clean and poor Oliver tests positive. I guess this is just another lesson that it can happen to anyone no matter how careful you are, there’s always a risk. All I know is they better not slack off on this story next season. If they are gonna smack us in the face and leave us crying for weeks, they better tell this story and tell it well. And Connor better man up and be there for Oliver. Oliver has been there for him. HIV is not a death sentence. With modern medicine, people are still able to live their lives. Granted I wouldn’t wish it on anyone, but I’m just saying it is possible for Oliver and Connor to have a future. They just have to be educated and responsible and look at their options.

??????????????

Watch Patrick’s speech @ 2:40 HERE

I’m a soap opera girl, and one of my favorites is General Hospital. Now I’m not exactly thrilled at the current storylines being told. But back in the day, there was a couple that lit up the screen; Dr. Patrick Drake and Dr. Robin Scorpio. A couple that was so in love, it would make your heart ache. Robin is HIV positive, she contracted it as a teenager, from her boyfriend who she was madly in love with. He later passed away from AIDS. But after Robin dealt with the terrible reality, she was able to see her options and get on the proper medication and in turn she was able to live her life, be a doctor, and have relationships. In walks Patrick, their relationship was rocky to say the least, but the way they handled her HIV story, between the two was amazing. He was so respectful and he was so in love with her. Watch a scene that gets the root of their storyline regarding Robin’s HIV medication. They even had a baby and got married, (in that order haha.) And yes their baby is happy and healthy and HIV negative. It’s proof that love conquers all. So I know Connor and Oliver have a long and tough road ahead of them. And they in a way seem like just kids. But they genuinely have a deep connection and I think that if Connor really loves Oliver, he’ll want to be there for him.

So I have rambled on for longer than I thought I would. Is that even a surprise to anyone here really? Michelle you need to learn how to get to the damn point. And if you don’t watch the show, all of this means absolutely nothing to you, and makes absolutely no sense. But if you’ve gotten this far, either way thanks for reading! 😉 Let’s go down the line. Sam is slime regardless. He still made the call to end a girl’s life, just so what- his wife wouldn’t find out, well she did, and he’s pathetic. Frank is hot as hell, but I’m scared of him now. Bonnie is still fishy, she’s definitely gonna kill someone sometime in this show’s future. Asher, poor Asher, just be glad you’re the only one not invited to the killer parties, although watch out for Bonnie and Frank, I feel like they both have secrets and you’re screwing one of them; Bonnie. Wes I thought we were friends, but I’m just not sure about you at all. Rebecca you pissed someone off, but I got to admit you were starting to annoy me too. Keating team, who dun it? And last but not least bow down to Viola Davis, a force to be reckoned with as she owns the role of Annalise Keating.

Shonda Rhimes, why must you do this to us? And now we have to wait all the way to the FALL for new episodes. This season only got 15 episodes…um why didn’t this show get a full 23 episode season? I mean ABC knows it’s a Shonda Rhimes show right? She basically owns their Thursday nights. There was no doubt this show was gonna be a hit! UGHHHHHH…… I cannot. I just can’t. Who else is with me? What was your biggest shock of the 2 hour season finale? I’m here for you, let’s talk about it.

The How To Get Away With Murder; episodes 1×14-1×15- “The Night Lila Died” & “It’s All My fault”

*the title of episode 15 is the same line Wes says when he is sitting in the staircase being consoled by Annalise. He admits everything; Sam’s death, and believing in Rebecca and taking her case to them was all his fault. But he also says he didn’t free Rebecca and that he doesn’t love her anymore. Annalise offers him her advice to believe the version of the truth that lets them all move on. Sam killed Lila. That’s the truth. And killing Sam was justified. It’s the truth they all need to believe. And in some distorted version of the truth, Sam did kill Lila. Full circle people, full circle.
