Dissect A Scene(s): Haleb is FINALLY Endgame

In the season finale of the first half of Pretty Little Liars’  7th season, relationships were mended and Hanna Marin and Caleb Rivers otherwise known as #Haleb reunited in one of the most beautifully crafted love scenes, I’ve ever seen done on a teen drama television show.

Take a look:

The tension had been building between these two characters for quite some time. I’ve spoken about this couple’s recent storyline a little bit in my post- The Little Moments Count where I feature a scene that inspired the post. In it I voice my opinion on the whole Hanna, Caleb, Spencer triangle and I said- “Caleb you need to step up your game if you want to be deserving of Hanna; the PLL Queen.😀

Well friends, watch that scene and tell if you think he did!

Because OH MY GOD! He did!

The speech he hit her with was EPIC! The way he’s so adamant about staying with her; “So I hate to break it to you girl, but your stuck with me.” Ahhh #Sexy. The way he calls her out on her bullshit! YASSSS!!!!! Finally. Caleb Rivers there you are. Welcome to the party. #TheRealCalebRiversFinallyStoodUp The way he basically lists off all the sloppy habits Hanna has, because he knows her so well. And then the way he just throws in the big whopper “You won’t admit that we’re meant to spend the rest of our lives together,” admist all that. He just slides it on in, like it’s no big deal. And I died! So damn good, and then it’s followed by him sauntering up to Hanna with  “I never want to spend another day without you- ever. For the rest of my life.”Cue the kisses/love scene. #DYING #FANGIRLING #THATWASBASICALLYAPROPOSAL

The bickering nature of their fight was everything Haleb is known for. A couple who bickers at eachother over almost everything, but who also loves each other like crazy. It’s how Hanna is and Caleb knows that in order to get through to her stubborn exterior he has to lay it on thick. He has to fight with her, for her. And well, folks, it’s about damn time!

I knew all those cutesy cringeworthy scenes Caleb had with Spencer couldn’t even touch what he had with Hanna. Those scenes would kill me but if you see how he acts with Hanna, you know that it’s just not the same. There’s a way he looks at her, that will melt your heart like @ the 2:35 mark . Especially when it concerns her safety, he will freak the F out, to protect her.  And let’s be real Spencer told him, she loved him, and he basically diverted the conversation because well um yea he loves HANNA.

Anyway, I can rant all night long, because that was such a stupid storyline, I still can’t believe they even tried to pull that.

In other news, this collection of scenes really were just so amazing, their chemistry is so natural and so realistic that it pops onscreen. The lighting, the flickering fire, the shaggy white carpet…perfection. I also love love love how Caleb kisses her wound on her back. Hanna was kidnapped and abused by A or someone working for A and Caleb was a full on mess. When she got back, things were very weird between them, but they eventually found a way to be friends. But Hanna had been dealing with the post partum type of feelings after going through such a traumatic experience. She would get these scary flashbacks and instead of confiding in friends, she retreated. These scars were never seen by others. But in this moment Hanna is stripped down and vulnerable and let’s him see without hesitation and in return Caleb handles it beautifully, making sure to make her feel safe with him. Something Hanna previously admitted to him, that she always feels safe with him.

As someone who has been so sick of this show and the whole A-game, I can safely say I stuck around for them, for Haleb and for Ezria (Ezra & Aria). I have to see this show through, because Haleb is worth it, and now  with the new declarations and developments the last 10 episodes of the series premiering in April 2017 are sure to be interesting. Pretty Little Liars may be ending for good, but I am sure that Haleb has a bright future.

Negan’s Speech + Audio Analysis

So it’s been a week since The Walking Dead Season 6 finale,  and I already miss it.  Let’s just say I have been in a really weird state because of it, since. Add a bit of lady problems to the mix, and you’ve got yourself a girl on a rollercoaster. Can I get off already, please. Haha.

Anyway I’m sure you have noticed that I have been bombarding my blog with TWD #WhoIsIt theories in an attempt to cool my mind down. I feel like it’s me spilling my guts out and just getting all my thoughts out there so that I can move on, and remain sane until October. Will I continue to check in on new theories that will most certainly come out, of course I will. But I am hoping that with this next post, I can give my brain a much needed rest and move on, and save the rest until the Season 7 premiere. Besides my blog is getting a bit oversaturated in walker blood.

In this post I will be analyzing Negan’s speech and his character’s introduction into the show. And then I will also touch upon the audio you hear when Negan makes his kill at the end of the episode and how it could be a hint as to who dies. Let’s get into it.

The Walking Dead 6×16 “Last Day on Earth”

Negan’s Speech Notes-

The minute Negan is introduced you instantly feel like you’re watching a show. I hate to admit but he is actually kind of oddly sexy. That’s weird, I know. But I mean, you know it’s true. In fact he enters from Rick and Company’s RV. Already establishing that he owns their shit, and yet he hasn’t even spoken a word yet.

twd0616-4542[1]

His first words are thrown out in the form of few clever comments; “Pissing our pants yet? Oh boy do I have a feeling we’re getting close. Yea it’s gonna be pee pee pants city here real soon.”

What villain gets away with saying “pee pee pants city” in his introduction as a lethal villain?

Oh the kind that’s holding a bat covered in barbed wire. That’s who.

Negan is extremely calm, cool, collected, and funny. He’s actually humorous. So much so that it contradicts the severity of the situation. And it’s terrifying as hell. He’s charismatic for sure, and he draws you in. Physically, he’s a decent build, tall, he’s got a wicked cryptic smile and when he speaks you automatically have to listen, because there’s an instant fear that his threats are real. I mean it helps that he’s got an army the size of Texas too. Alone, yea I think Rick could take him, sure. But right now, in this moment, with this sudden power shift. Shit is dangerous.

As expected Negan’s long winded monologue is mostly directed toward Rick.

“You are so gonna regret crossing me in a few minutes. Yes you are.”

“Sucks don’t it? The moment when you realize, you don’t know shit.”

Rick’s face, says EVERYTHING.

“Today was career day. We invested a lot so you would know who I am and what I can do.”

Yea I imagine blocking every road with elaborate yet disturbing tricks takes time, resources and well man power.

“Alright listen. Don’t any of ya do that again. I will shut that shit down, no exceptions. The first one’s free, it’s an emotional moment. I get it.”- referring to Glenn’s outburst over Maggie.

You can see his humor here, yet you fear him, but you can almost feel he has humanity somewhere deep down inside to allow Glenn to be spared in that moment. However, the way he laughs Glenn’s fear off is terrifying which shows how lethal he is going to be as Rick’s new villain.

“You work for me now. You have shit, you give it to me. That’s your job.”

Oh this old speech. Haven’t we heard this before. Wait. It gets worse.

“You don’t mess with the new world order. The new world order is this-give me your shit or I will kill you.”

“Lighten up kid. At least cry a little.”-referring to Carl.

There was a definite interesting moment here. According to the comic, Negan develops a strange type or relationship with Carl. That’s definitely going to be interesting to watch, that is if Carl lives. #UhOh

“You thought you were safe. I get it. But the word is out. You are not safe.”

And now we are all shitting our pants. #shittypantscity

Negan’s backstory has yet to be written in full and for an introduction to this world, it had one hell of an impact, especially with his monologue leading to a punishment like no other. The whole sequence is basically about showing Rick that he is not safe, all the things he’s had to do to survive are just now catching up to him in this moment. Because Negan is a leader too, he has things he must do to survive, disturbing things. This is about tearing Rick Grimes down and making him realize that actions have consequences. The cocky “we can do anything” attitude has finally bit Rick in the ass this season.

***************************************************************

Audio Analyzing-

The music and score throughout this entire sequence is so incredible, you hear the sounds of the night, and the strange rattlesnake like rumbles, as the tension builds, your stomach knots because you know things are certainly going South. The scene is detrimental enough just by the actors’ delivery, Negan’s cold tone as he parades across his line of victims, the sheer fear and trembling evident in our favorite survivors, it is all elevated through this vivid soundtrack.

When I first watched the Season 6 finale, the audio of the actual hit from Lucille which was placed upon someone in the lineup, wasn’t really clear. I didn’t really hear many sounds.

Then I re-watched and re-watched numerous times and I began to pick up on some sounds.

The background noise consists of chants, screams; both high pitched female screams and deeper masculine yells. Then there is the piercing sound we usually here when Rick is about to lose it. But I think that could be because now we are in that victim’s POV and they would certainly be hearing some strange feedback from being bludgeoned in the head with a bat. The sound is muffled as you hear Negan say “Would you look at that? Taking it like a champ,” laughing it off he strikes the person with another blow. You can hear grunts too, which I could assume is the person themselves, suffering. The grunts sound slightly manly. You can hear the impact of the bat, you can hear the gushing and the blood. It’s all highly painful.

It’s so disturbing and slightly confusing, because I believe the actors were not on set for the kill shot, or it hasn’t been filmed yet, or the actors don’t know who it actually is. The rumors are swirling and I honestly don’t know who knows or who doesn’t, or if it’s been filmed or not. Each cast member has been quoted saying something different in recent interviews, so I am sure they were coached on what to say and its all meant to be one big mystery. But if those screams and grunts are real, then were the actors just told to react, or were these things just dug up from other episodes and added in to serve as background noise. Whatever the case I think the blurred muffled hearing really put you there with that person. Accompanied with the first person POV, it’s like you were in that lineup with that person. Which I heard was Scott Gimple and Co.’s wish. So all that stress, that anxiety, yea we felt it.

So I’m going to leave this here. I left it all on the blog and now I am going to move on and hopefully get some peace from this overbearing situation. I need to feel normal again. Until October, my friends. We’ll miss you TWD.

P.S. Next week we will return to our regularly scheduled programming. #OnTheRun Part5

#WhoIsIt? Alternate Theories

My Walking Dead Alternate #WhoIsIt Theories

1122011jpg[1]

Let’s go one by one- from the TV viewer’s POV left to right:

lineupp

Glenn-

Steven Yeun’s “Glenn Rhee” is on the receiving end of the bat in the comics. And so for some fans he appears to be the obvious choice. But I’m not too sure he’s that obvious anymore. It really could be anybody at this point. No one is safe. That is the whole point of Negan’s speech. That when you think you are safe, you aren’t. The Walking Dead has an intense history of spinning off from the comics and tricking you when you think you know where they’re going, they “take a sharp left.” Gimple has even been quoted saying in this specific comic arc, that they would be “taking a sharp left.” If it is Glenn, it allows fans to be satisfied with a comic book ending and will give them their huge epic scene they’ve been waiting for. *I don’t read the comics, but I’ve known about this death scene, and quite frankly I can live without it. I love Glenn too much, to rally for that death scene to play out the exact way it does in the comics. I could care less. Yea I get shock value, and I get the blood and gore quota has to be met on this show, inadvertently we as fans do want to be surprised and see the gore, but shock me with someone else’s death.

If it does end up being Glenn that mega death fake out showrunners put us through in the beginning half of this 6th season was a complete waste of time, energy and anxiety. Unless that is their plan, to make us think it won’t be Glenn and then it is. He’s had far too many near death experiences throughout the show, but especially this season. He’s lucked out a lot, so could it be that his luck has finally run out just as he is about to become a dad? SADDEST THOUGHT EVER!

won-t-you-all-be-shocked-when-the-walking-dead-kills-maggie-not-glenn-881535[1]

It’s safe to say I won’t be able to get over that one! Maggie and Glenn are the main love story, they drive that show in a very special way for me. And we all love them, I don’t think their story is done. I swear Scott Gimple’s going to be getting my bill for the therapy sessions I’m going to need, or at least supply me with a lifetime of chamomile tea to calm my nerves as I watch this show every week.

If it is Glenn the cliffhanger allows the series to get months in between the decision to mirror the events of the comic and keep people guessing. According to THR Gimple previously stated that he “would not be too proud” if he “chumped” the brutal scene. Yea sure but that could just mean the brutality is intact, but the character doesn’t have to be. Anyone who gets their head smashed in would warrant some kind of reaction.

I sincerely hope they wouldn’t keep Glenn alive just to end up killing him at the end of the season. It would break the show into pieces for us to have to mourn Glenn just as Maggie announced her pregnancy with their child. Not to mention that Glenn has had little screen time as of late and Maggie and Glenn have had little screen time as a couple. The constant separation between the two, and having to look for each other and fight for their family can’t end like this. I just don’t accept it. I can’t. The Walking Dead has a reputation of deviating from the comics and so I sincerely hope they keep that up when it comes to Glenn’s supposed death. However, the creators, writers and directors could have concluded that we’d think Glenn is safe because he’s neared death quite a few times this season, so they could shock us and really leave it Glenn. Quite honestly given the logic I used in my Michonne theory, I don’t see it being Glenn. I just don’t think Maggie and Glenn are in positions to allow that to go down without a fight considering when Negan raised the bat to Maggie offering to “take her out of her misery,” Glenn basically freaked the F out.

glenn's outburst-light source

Glenn and Maggie are a driving force as a whole. Their story still has a ways to go. And Glenn’s whole philosophy has been about maintaining who he is in this world, regardless of having to deal with walkers. He does know how to survive and he has more to offer to the story. He watched Nicholas take his own life, he cheated death several times, he’s becoming a father and he just recently made his first human kills this season. I as a viewer want to see Glenn attempt to deal with this. And I want my #1 TWD Romance to be kept intact.

glaggie baby

Rosita-

Just had her heartbroken and is healing it by  messing around with Spencer who’s back in Alexandria. She’s a firey, tough latina, and although everyone’s waiting to see if she and Sasha have a throw down over Abraham, while she makes her way over and into a love affair with Eugene, she’s certainly not a main character. Although according to Denise she’s alone. Although her death wouldn’t cause me too much grief, I am interested in seeing how the rest of her story plays out. But she was one of the 4 held so could her POV be the POV of the person who gets a bat to the head. I’d say she’s highly unlikely.

V6cLmLU[1]

Daryl-

Um, is he even an option? I mean really, Scott Gimple? Don’t mess with me. Are you trying to wage a war against the fans? Try us, we will RIOT! Yes, both Daryl and Glenn are in that van when we see the POV shots throughout the episode. However, if you again, look at my Michonne theory, Daryl is clearly the first to exit the van, as he was wounded and slumped down in the van, sitting on the floor. The POV shots include the top of what appears to be Daryl’s head. Besides I’d say Negan knows all about Daryl considering Dwight has come into contact with him many times, Negan knows what Daryl is capable of. After all he calls him a tiger…haha “catch “a tiger”- *points bat at Daryl* by the toe.” However, fans adore Daryl and so does the group, his death would have a lasting effect on EVERYONE and catapult us into an insane season of Revenge. But to be honest, any season that doesn’t have Daryl and his dirty ass, potty mouth, crossbow aiming, motorcycle riding, carol loving self in it, isn’t one I want to watch. :/ Although Norman Reedus was on Talking Dead after the episode with Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan. And you know that shit is not a good sign. #jinx #deathspot #TTDcouch

Michonne-* (is my main guess- Read my full analysis HERE)

michonne before negan passes her

She would be a shock…figures just as Rick and Michonne started Richonne-in it.

Abraham-

BITCH NUTS! Who’s Deanna? Bisquick. Mother Dick. Abraham is our comedy.

Screenshot_2016-04-09-13-40-03

And on a show like The Walking Dead, we need a little laughter. Not to mention that his delivery is so stone cold serious that it makes it even more hilarious when he spits out his nonsense phrases. There’s also the fact that he just left Rosita to fall in love with Sasha. Can you say #LOVETRIANGLE? Yea! Seriously though he and Sasha could be epic, if given the time, and we haven’t had that intense a jealous lover’s squarel within our central group since Rick, Lori and Shane.

Rosita throwing some serious shade…

But needless to say Abraham was definitely one of the first I thought of when the screen went black. I just saw so much pride and heroism in him this episode that it would be justified if he was the one who was killed. He’s a soldier, he protects. And he may be considered a B-list cast member, he’s the closest to a main character, he’s certainly beloved and his death would make an impact. Let’s look at the signs; he recently started a love affair with Sasha, and in this episode as he drives the RV (major role in the journey to save Maggie and baby) he basically tells her he could see himself having kids with her, now.

twd0616-1815[1]

He mentions how planning that type of thing, is really living. As the sun shines brightly on Abraham and his red headed mustache wearing self, it’s a sweet moment tainted by upcoming tragedy?

twd0616-1874[1]twd0616-1350[1]

There is also the moment he has with Eugene where they hug it out and rebuild their friendship. Abraham tells Eugene that he was wrong about him, he is a survivor.

zLze3Df[1]

All these moments, almost seem as though they are setting us up to say goodbye to Abraham. In the moments where the group is placed under the interrogation headlights Abraham is the first to protest the lead Savior, when he tells the other saviors to get Maggie down, Abraham says “Hold up. We got it.” Already protecting. He and Rick walk Maggie over to the lineup and when Negan threatens Maggie and Glenn has his freak out moment, Abraham reaches to hold Maggie as she cried out for them to stop hurting Glenn. When Negan comes face to face with Abraham, Abraham challenges him, he rises up and looks Negan square in the face.

In my opinion Negan’s “Take it like a champ” comment could fit Abraham’s soldier background. Also considering the blows of Lucille, there were about 3 major blows; the first one- caused a crack and the bleeding, the second caused blurry vision and a fall and the third was a black out. For the victim to withstand that type of blow and that many, they would have to be holding their head up high and “standing tall.” Their build would have to be solid. However, I do feel like the group could handle a lot, and even the most unlikely subject could “take it like a champ.” I just feel like someone who is wounded like Daryl, although strong, that kind of blow would knock him out on the first shot. Even Glenn who seems to be in a bit of a fit of hysterics might go down pretty easy too. Carl and Maggie’s smaller frames could also succumb to the blows quicker. But then again, as I said before it could be anyone. And that’s why I am obsessing. In fact something else to consider is Abraham’s death in the comics is actually how Denise died in the show- arrow through the eye.

tumblr_o4dbwaKrvx1qdk4doo3_250[1]

Could it be that Abraham was spared to be Glenn’s replacement? Also here’s another little tidbit-to think about-this fan is on point.

Screenshot_2016-04-06-21-33-39

 Maggie-

tumblr_o58plkYyhV1sdfcbco1_500[1]

All kinds of NO. Maggie is one of the few original women left. I just relate to her somehow. She is becoming such a leader and just a mama bear, and I just feel like she hasn’t had enough screen time lately, for this to be it. If The Walking Dead thinks they could bait and switch Glenn’s death for Maggie’s you have no idea the wrath you will feel. Not only would Negan be taking one life, but he’d be taking two. And I cannot see Glenn allowing that to go down. His non-death would be a waste of time, if they kill Maggie off. Because in the greater scheme of things, Glenn is living for his family. In the comics Negan is said not to kill women or kids. Well if they stick to that Maggie is safe. If they don’t, Maggie is in the line of fire, and that terrifies me. Something is clearly wrong with her baby and I just hope that we get to see the outcome of our Glaggie family.

GnCz3QK[1]

That shower scene where Glenn notices the bruises on Maggie’s body from the fight she had with the female saviors. That scene was so heartbreaking.

Rick-

Um if Rick dies, it would be the biggest shock in TV history. Granted I understand sometimes shows go for it and think that they can justify killing a series’ lead character but on the Walking Dead that just would not fly. I mean he’s the leader, he’s the center of the show, the whole story revolves around him and his experiences. I cannot see it being Rick, but like I said before, this show has proven time and time again that when you think someone is safe they’re not. #NoJustNo #Ricktatorship #NeganClearlyDidntGetTheMemo

ricck face

Sasha-

She’s a safe choice, I feel. She’s likeable. She’s family. She’s had some great moments and she and Abraham are in love and talking about building a future. What better way to squash that dream then to have her get the bat. Her death would affect the group and the viewers, but again not like a major character’s death would. Sasha is more of a B-list character.

Although I have to say her reaction to Negan’s bat always makes me laugh, because I could just see her saying something like…”mmm mm..nope.”

Aaron-

Aaron is very likeable. We’ve kind of accepted him pretty quickly. He was the person that Maggie confides her pregnancy in.

twdmaggieaaron-158019[1]

And he is also someone who has really taken the group on as family and has continuously tried to pull his weight. For example, telling Rick he would have to punch him in the face to stop him from coming along to help get Maggie to the hilltop. I think the friendship he’s formed with Maggie is sweet, however I don’t think it’s fully developed yet.

He was there for her when she was waiting for a sign from Glenn, he gave her hope. And he is also half of the first gay couple to grace the walking dead screen. Who’s his boyfriend again? Oh yea that dude that never gets screen time. Story isn’t done.

vlcsnap-2015-02-24-13h59m30s154[1]

His death wouldn’t be catastrophic, because he’s not a main character. However, it would be fitting since he is to the right side of Rick and he is near Carl, which if you notice Negan’s shadow on Rick’s face and as he gestures toward Carl when he delivers his cryptic “cut the boy’s other eye out” line. But again, I doubt it’s him. Could be, but I doubt it.

twd0616-5386[1]

Carl-

Was my initial choice. When Negan says “Anybody moves, anybody says anything, cut the kid’s other eye out and feed it to his father. And then we’ll start.” I sat there and was like WHAT? So it’s Carl. Now I know there has been some serious debate about that specific line. Some people think because he said that, both Rick and Carl are safe. But some people seem to think it was in fact Carl, and that he threatens that if anyone attempts to stop him he will first cut out Carl’s eye, force feed it to Rick and then continue to bludgeon Carl to death. Although others argue that Carl would already be dead then and Lucille will have no purpose, people seem to think he says that line as leverage. Or it could be a means to an end for our father/son pairing. The “and then we’ll start” can mean let me make you suffer and then bash your head in. Also this photo has been floating around and the shadow does match a certain sheriff hat wearing teen, could be just the lighting, but it could also be a sign.

carl

Raise your hand if you’ve said- God when is he gonna take that damn hat off? As per Season 1- Carl you should have stayed in the house. Although I have to say that Carl’s character evolution is definitely fun to watch. He’s a little G, and so was little Mika.

600px-TWDS4E14_02[1]

I was hoping to see them have a teenage romance. Haha. Aw RIP sweet Mika. Anyway I digress. If you watch back the scene where Negan begins his twisted version of our favorite child deciding factor game, you notice that his shadow seems to be on the right side of Rick’s face (from the viewer’s POV) just before he says “and you are it.” Which some may conclude that the victim is on the right side of the lineup, meaning; Sasha, Aaron, Carl or Eugene. Pair that fact with the idea that we see Carl’s shadow and Viola! Although would they really end Carl’s story like this? He just survived getting his eye shot out, and he’s definitely in line to be a leading contender if anything ever happens to Rick. #BiteYourTongue. Although there were a few things in the Season finale episode that I picked up on when I thought Carl may have received the barbed end of Lucille and her reign of terror. In the beginning of the episode when Rick and Company are packing up the RV getting ready to take Maggie to the OBGYN doctor at hilltop, Enid is very insistent on coming. Home-girl is fishy, something is up, she probably poisoned those pickles, and is actually working with the Saviors. Let’s not forget she was always running off out of Alexandria and into the woods. However, Carl forbids her to come and ends up purposely locking her in the closet to keep her safe. She utters through the door, “What if you don’t come back. What am I supposed to do? How am I supposed to live with that?” Carl responds calmly “Just Survive Somehow,” reiterating Enid’s personal slogan back to her. Keep in mind that at this moment we see Carl’s shadow cast upon the white closet door. I may be reaching, but could this be shadow play? Foreshadowing the shadow we see that might match Carl getting killed by Negan.

twd0616-0408[1]

There is also a conversation between Carl and Aaron in the RV, where Carl asks “What made you come?” To which Aaron answers “I owe her,” referring to Maggie, probably because kept Rick from killing him in the first place. When Aaron reciprocates and asks Carl the same question Carl responds; “I owe them,” which I can only assume he owes Rick, Maggie and the gang. They are his family. Could it be that The Walking Dead was foreshadowing Carl’s death with these signs? I mean it would send Rick into a spiral like no other, to watch his son get bludgeoned to death, and it would affect everyone, including all the main players; Carol (and her mommy complex), Daryl (who cannot take losing kids), Michonne (Carl’s new mommy), Glenn and Maggie (as they are about to embark on parenthood themselves.) Also could Enid’s plea be irony rearing its ugly head. If it happens to be Carl I will miss him, but sadly, I can say that I could handle it better than a Glenn, Daryl, Rick or Maggie death. To me those 4 are my untouchables. Although I will say that I’ve heard rumors that in the comics Negan kind of takes to Carl with a strange fascination which embarks on a greater storyline for the two characters. If Carl dies, I guess they would have to wipe out that entire part in the comics.

true

If we’re getting technical…. there’s this too.

Eugene-

Our sweet sweet mullet man. We all hated you back when you messed with our survivors. You know when you lied about being the scientist who knew how to fix the zombie outbreak. But boy have you been stepping up your game. That Abraham and Eugene moment was totally adorable and gave us all the feels. As we watch Eugene grow into more of a badass, his big courageous moment comes as he takes on the role of the RV decoy (that smile he made before starting the engine…priceless) which went just as we expected, sadly.

twd0616-3897[1]

And he got caught and put in the lineup like the rest of them. Sure we like Eugene, sure his death would impact the group, but I don’t think it would be as big as a main character death. But then again, The Walking Dead could turn shit around on us and hit us with something like a mediocre death #SorryEugene just to keep the main players going but still give Negan a kill. The irony of Eugene manning up just as he gets Lucilled would be a sad sad fate. Not to mention he has this badass insane plan to make bullets, a plan which he basically handed off to Rick “just in case.”

•-Bullet-Recipe2[1]

AFTER THOUGHTS:

If you ask me I think Negan should be smart about who he chose, he wants people to work for him. He needs soldiers, he needs strong people. Then again he also needs to send a message that will keep everyone in check. Keep people in the know of what power he holds. Killing someone weaker then him could send a message of weakness, or it also send a message that he has no time to deal with weak people. Killing someone strong like Abraham could send the message that he doesn’t take any threats or shit from anyone challenging him, but he also lost a good worker in hindsight. But then again Negan could have just killed whoever he killed, for whatever twisted reason, or no reason at all. Because let’s face it, he looks like one sick individual who doesn’t care or worry about who he kills. Fingers crossed that whoever it is, we can handle. But then again maybe all the hype and guessing is just a big old hoax and they kill off a B-list character. Who knows with this show, who knows???

Dissect A Scene: The “Burzek” Break Continues #ChicagoPD

Ok so I’m going to level with you here…this is more of a dissect an episode…based on all Burzek moments post engagement break up. This past Wednesday’s 3×13 episode of Chicago PD entitled “Hit Me,” was the first episode after Kim Burgess gave back the engagement ring Adam Ruzek proposed to her with. The break up scene was just that…breaking…heart breaking. And you can read my scene dissection on that particular moment HEREI think this break-up is seriously crushing my soul, tumblr_nvikeoUUHL1sp3bh6o1_1280[1]because I’ve been with this couple from the very beginning- from the awkward moments, to the flirtation, to the first “I Love You’s.” It’s been a joy to watch. So now that the two have broken up my Chicago PD is missing it’s Romance factor. And you know how I love my love stories! Sure, we still have Linstead (Detectives Erin Lindsay & Jay Halstead) and I love them, but they are a different kind of couple. They are in the very early stages of their relationship, and they aren’t as out with the PDA as Burzek was. Oh how it hurts to use the past tense. I have watched these scenes over and over. I have even rewatched the episode in it’s entirety. It doesn’t get any easier seeing these two apart.

Anyway… Here are the scenes:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTENdjQ0TIo

In the first scene we see Burgess coming in and talking to Sergeant Platt about the agenda for the day. Burgess asks to talk to Platt in private once Platt busts out the obvious (that she and Ruzek broke up.) Now it’s been known that Platt and Burgess have had their weird bittersweet friendship since Season 1. Platt called the fact that Burgess and Ruzek wouldn’t make it to the altar, and she’s not really letting Burgess forget that. And now that Platt is engaged to Chicago fireman Mouch, she’s one upping Burgess as she plans her own wedding. But when Burgess asks Platt to sign off on a transfer out of the station, Platt throws her hands up and protests the decision. She surprisingly becomes a confident as she notices this whole situation is tearing Burgess apart. “Are you okay?” Platt asks followed by Burgess’ tearful “No.”

“You just sit here, and you feel what you need to feel,” Platt returns as she offers Burgess a chair. Marina shines in this vulnerable moment, and you can tell that underneath all the bluster and the hard times Platt gives Burgess, she actually deep down cares about her well-being and wants her to stick around. Burgess looks the part of a girl who just had her heart broken. Sure, she got up and managed to get dressed in her uniform, but her hair is in a laid back, messy, thrown up pony tail, her face and eyes are puffy and red, like she’s been crying all night. Yup sounds about right. All the while she strives to remain professional and do her job.

The second clip in this video, shows Ruzek and Atwater on an assignment for a case involving a casino. As they walk through they talk about the break up. Ruzek’s response to Atwater’s “Wait so it’s over…like over over?” is “I don’t know, you’re gonna have to ask her that. I mean she gave the ring back.” Ruzek’s later comment of “Anyway, moving on, right?” could be a red flag for our Burzek hearts, because it’s either let’s move on from this painful subject. OR I’m moving on from Kim Burgess. Judging by further scenes in this episode I’d say the first makes most sense. Adam Ruzek is clearly still very much in love with Kim Burgess.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGCIn-PKtZc

This collection of scenes are the only interaction the two have since Burgess called things off. In the beginning we see Ruzek checking his phone, hoping for a call from her. Then we see him jump and turn at the sound of Burgess’ partner Roman’s voice, signaling he knew Burgess was in the room too. Burgess looks over at him awkwardly as he stares at her with puppy dog eyes and the saddest face ever. OH MY HEART! Seriously though Paddy is killing the puppy dog eyes this whole episode, I was just freaking out! (Legitimately kicking and screaming like a toddler.) Burgess looks away quicker than Ruzek, Ruzek’s stare lingers…which let’s be honest is WHAT WE LOVE about these break up story lines.

The following clip comes after Burgess and Roman just suffered a car crash while patrolling. Burgess is talking to a fellow cop, reporting what happened as we see a very determined Ruzek making his way toward her in a rather quick hasty fashion. He walks straight up to her, touching her face to check out the cut on her head. There’s really no hesitation on his part, as he asks her “Kim, are you okay?” Ruzek has always been very concerned about Burgess on the job since she got shot in Season 2. He always checks in on her, and he’s very protective, it’s the cutest freaking thing. You can tell that by the numerous times Ruzek’s made the same gesture when they were together.[See scenes 1, 2, & 3] The fact that he didn’t even think to do it again, shows he still loves her and still cares for her safety. Burgess on the other hand pulls back, making light of the accident and signifying she can’t take being this close to him. Ruzek grabs her shoulders and asks her how she’s doing with everything else- meaning the fact that they just called off their engagement- oh I don’t know- a day ago. Burgess again says she’s fine and asks how he is. In which Ruzek’s next response breaks Burzek hearts EVERYWHERE when he says “You’re fine. Really? Cause I’m terrible.” Let it be known that Ruzek looks kind of a wreck too, puffy face, full messy beard. Burgess responds to his honesty awkwardly by saying she’s sorry to hear that and then makes an excuse to walk away. Ruzek looks broken. Burgess looks flustered and equally broken. Though she hides it well.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bdO-30rF6BQ

This last scene is a scene between the two powerhouse women of the show; Kim Burgess and Erin Lindsay. I knew these two would be magic once they got a scene together. It’s about damn time! Look at Lindsay trying to play like she’s not also dating a fellow cop #Linstead. 😉 But seriously she did have a good point. Gender stereotypes and stigmas unfortunately do exist in many professions. Anyway what I love about this scene is how open Lindsay is. How she’s trying to be a friend to Burgess. And I love when she asks “Cause it’s that hard to see him at work every day?” And you can tell the hesitation in Burgess’ voice as she says “Cause I feel really guilty for calling it off, but it needed to be called off.” Which I think pretty much sums up the whole entire Burzek break.

I think that Burgess’ feelings are completely authentic. Her knee jerk reaction to transfer out is what anyone who just broke off their engagement would do. In fact if you watched this show since Season 1, you know that in Season 2 Burgess asks Ruzek-what if they ever broke up, and ended up hating each other, she mentions she’d probably transfer out. Of course Ruzek uses his charm to console her, as he just kisses her and tells her they aren’t breaking up. Looking back at that, AH, I JUST CAN’T. I want to cry. Poor Burzek! Oh the irony! Are you writers laughing in the writer’s room? 😉 She obviously still loves him, which is why this is so hard for her. In her mind she thinks there’s a reason behind Ruzek having such a relaxed approach to planning their wedding and their life together. And now seeing him and still having feelings for him makes it nearly impossible to try and move on (DON’T MOVE ON….PLEASE DON’T MOVE ON!) or just simply do her job. A job that basically puts your life on the line enough, she doesn’t need to be emotionally distracted and get hurt because as Voight likes to say “her heads not on straight.”

There were also a few other scenes not featured online.

Voight checks in with Ruzek-

12628081_1498097337164240_576597288_n[1]

During the case they are working on in Intelligence, Ruzek seems preoccupied the whole day. Voight calls on him for an update and Ruzek is so busy checking his phone yet again, that he doesn’t here Voight. After Voight gets his attention Ruzek supplies the update and as the others begin to clear the room, Voight asks Ruzek if he’s got “his head on straight.” Ruzek replies “Yea. I just didn’t see this coming. I feel like I let her down.” Voight responds “That’s not what I asked you.” While Ruzek answers “Yes. My heads on straight.” Voight responds “Okay.” With a pat on Ruzek’s back in understanding. THESE POOR COPS. It’s like they have to check their emotions at the door when they come to work. My god, I can only imagine the pressure. I mean people have to do things like that every day; separate their personal life from their professional. But when dealing with heart break and when you WORK WITH THE PERSON. I CAN’T. I have to admit though, from a writer’s stand point, this angsty stuff is GOLD. I just hate that sometimes the action and drama of the cases get in the way of the relationship stuff. I’m just hoping we don’t lose out on what this storyline can be, because they are too worried about delivering crazy cases and action packed scenes. It’s like okay we get it’s a cop show, but you just put our Burzek hearts through the mud, you better deliver that story FIRST. I don’t care about criminals doing stupid things. Not after you dumped this heartache on me. SHOW ME MY BURZEK LONGING STARES. SHOW ME THE TENSION!

Roman and Burgess chat on patrol-

roman and burgess

Roman and Burgess have a very buddy type friendship. (Let’s hope it stays that way!) And so when they were on a drive to check out a suspicious situation, Roman says “Hey if you don’t wanna talk about it, that’s cool. But my cousin Matty thinks you’re hot. I told him I didn’t see it. But he wants your number.” Burgess kind of just laughs it off. (THANK YOU BURGESS!)

Mouse tries taking Ruzek’s mind off of Burgess-

12545486_786086204869047_178748979_n[1]

Mouse (the tech guy) sees Ruzek having a few drinks at Molly’s. Ruzek looks down in the dumps, to say the least. Mouse saunters over with two girls by his side. He says something stupid like “Hey Adam I told Brynn here that you’re licking your wounds, turns out she is too.” Brynn sits down next to Ruzek (and instantly we hate Brynn) “So you’re a cop huh? You, must have a few crazy stories.” Adam says “Yea I got a few stories.” He then looks at her and asks “Brynn is it? I’m sorry I’m just not…” And he gets up to leave. Brynn looks unphased and says “No problem.” Adam walks out of the bar. Let’s put a new spin on “Bye Felicia”…”Bye Brynn.”  I LOVE THIS SCENE and I hate it at the same time. SERIOUSLY WHAT IS UP with all the forces trying to get these two to move on from each other. They JUST broke up. Give them a minute to breathe, and you know come to the conclusion that they love each other like crazy and can’t live without each other, and have to get back together. I love the scene because ordinarily Ruzek has a pretty flirty nature. But when he and Burgess got together, it was like she become his world. He really only focused on her. Seriously you have to see how he acted with her, always kissing her, always wanting to be with her, always complimenting her. Homeboy even COOKED for her. If that’s not love, I don’t know what is! And even now that she broke things off, he still can’t fathom flirting with some other girl. Like I said before I think we may be seeing a new side to Adam Ruzek. I just hope the writers don’t pull another irony boost and let Ruzek get drunk and sleep with some rando (same goes for Burgess!) WE DON’T WANT TO SEE THAT!

In a nutshell, I think Adam is completely unaware of what is really going on with Kim. I think he’s been too caught up in the engagement bubble, that he hasn’t been noticing the signs of her growing frustration. Or at least he wasn’t taking them as seriously as he should have. While Kim feels that she needs to let him go, because this isn’t what he wants. But both are heart broken by not being together. My advice is for Burgess to play the hard to get card a little bit, I think it’s working for her for right now. I think it’s making Ruzek think. But I also give Adam so much credit for confronting Kim. I love that he was so honest about his feelings. How he feels terrible that they aren’t together. Most guys would just pretend they were cool, and just remain stoic. I think there needs to be more of that honesty (on both of their parts.) I think Adam needs to fight for Kim, get her to talk to him. I think they need a little distance, but not so much that it makes one of them do something stupid, or makes one of them start to move on. I think Kim needs to let Adam in on why she did what she did, because guys aren’t prone to realizing what they do wrong. Or at least Adam isn’t, he honestly just seems completely lost in confusion. She also needs to hear him out and there definitely needs to be more communication. They need to talk, like really talk about what went wrong and why. And I am just dying for Ruzek to just be like “But I love you…” followed by a big emotional speech. YES. PLEASE.

Anyway I know that this was a lot of emotional rambling and kind of long winded. And a less than eloquent dissection. But I just needed to vent. This Burzek break is messing with my feelings guys. I feel so bad for both of them. “But Michelle, it’s just a TV show, it’s not real,” you may say. UM, I’m sorry do you know me? I love TV! I love storytelling. I love the arcs of a love story! I am a writer! This is my bread and butter. Taking this stuff seriously is part of my love for television and my passion for creating stories myself. Like I always say watching TV is my research for when I can one day write for my own. And yes it’ll be a drama, because duh? 😉

So writers please don’t let me down here. Give me something I can work with.

I have a feeling I’ll be back here analyzing more Burzek scenes, because this is what is going to get me through this Burzek Break. When in doubt, blog about it!

Until next time, friends.

Dissect A Scene: The “Burzek” Breakup #ChicagoPD

This past Wednesday’s episode 3×12 of Chicago PD entitled “Looking Out For Stateville” hit Burzek (Kim Burgess & Adam Ruzek) fans pretty hard with Kim making a surprisetumblr_nvikeoUUHL1sp3bh6o1_1280[1] ending to she and fiancé Adam’s recent engagement. I myself am a huge Burzek fan, I’ve lobbied for them since Season 1. And have really rallied behind their engagement, but this whole season has kept me weary. This scene was the last minute of the episode and it broke my heart, it has been on my mind all week and I have to speak on it!

Read this article [Spoilers involved!] to learn more about the growing frustration behind Burgess’ decision, along with Marina Squerciati’s commentary on her character’s choice.

As the engagement high seemed to fade, Burgess began wanting to make plans and move she and Adam’s life together forward. While, Adam began to play the avoidance game. This scene is the result of that hesitation.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fl2YGnzItGA

The Dissection:

This scene in it’s entirety is just over a minute long, and yet it will have a fierce impact on the dynamic of the show. It’s held in a simple location; the convenient location of the police station’s locker room. The same locker room they go about their daily work lives in, the same locker room Ruzek proposed to her in, the same locker room these two have shared many emotional yet comforting conversations in relation to heavy days on the job, the same locker room they’ve snuck away to share private kisses and sweet moments. It’s a scene all about dialogue and small looks and silences- it’s essentially nothing fancy. There are no guns, no car chases, no bad guys to take up our time. Just two people, getting their hearts broken.

The scene is basically a one sided dialogue as Kim gets to the realization that Adam is not ready to settle down.  Adam’s reactions are minor as he tries to make light of things and act like Kim’s words aren’t valid, wondering why she’s thinking this way. Although he doesn’t exactly tell her she’s wrong. He doesn’t fight for her in that moment, she tells him he’s off the hook and hands him back the engagement ring.

It isn’t until she does that and walks away, that we see how great of a loss this is for Adam, as he chokes out “Kim” after her retreating figure as his eyes stay glued to the ring in his hand. That right there broke my heart. I think the audience has been with Burgess this whole time, feeling her frustration with him. And although we support her decision, in that moment we all feel for Ruzek, because it’s evident that he does in fact love her, and he doesn’t want her to walk away from their relationship.

Marina Squerciati really shines in her vulnerability. You can tell it is taking all of Burgess’ strength to finally make this decision. And that is absolutely conveyed in Squerciati’s calm, rational, kind delivery. Kim Burgess loves Adam Ruzek, and her letting their relationship go is her understanding that maybe he’s just not in this, therefore preventing an even greater heartache in the future, if she waited it out. No woman wants to stay with a man who doesn’t actually put his plans for marriage into action. He did ask her. He knew it was soon, but he didn’t care. He wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.

Patrick John Flueger plays these tough emotional scenes like a boss. Ruzek’s character has this appeasing nature. He’s constantly bringing the nervous and over thinking Burgess down back to earth. Burgess can kind of become like a scatter brain and rattle on and he’s got a flirtation and charm that just works. Although in his small contributions to the dialogue in this scene and his ducking behind the locker, you notice that he’s realizing he’s been in a state of avoiding moving his relationship forward. His subtle looks tell all. Yet to him, he didn’t see this coming.

But I knew this break was coming. I didn’t know how it was going to happen, and I hoped that it wouldn’t but I felt something bad was bound to happen. I am however, happy that it was Burgess who ended it, because I think everyone (**cough**Platt**cough**) figured that because of Ruzek’s list of failed engagements, he’d be the one. I just hope these two can find their way back to each other, because they truly have a love that makes you root for them. And I truly hope they don’t try and have Sean Roman make a play for Burgess because he seemed to be very vocal about Ruzek’s resistance. I think Burgess and Roman are better off as partners. Besides Lindsay and Halstead are doing the whole partner/dating thing right now, and they’re doing it well. Let’s leave that to them.

I cannot wait for this week’s episode, it sounds pretty damn good!

I just hope that Ruzek fights for her!  Regardless this break up is going to cause major tension and it is going to be heart breaking but let’s face it, sexy. You know Ruzek is going to be throwing some longing stares, Burgess’ way. I have a feeling we are going to see a sign of Ruzek we haven’t really seen yet. Sure we see how much he loves her, but now we get to see him elevate that, because now he’s lost her. Now he has to grow up. And I’m also super eager to see how Burgess is going to handle working with him, should definitely be interesting.

10 Of My Favorite Seth Cohen Zingers

Recently I’ve been into watching The O.C. Seriously why that show never ran as long as One Tree Hill, I don’t know. They had some great storytellers writing for them. Seth Cohen is my favorite part of The O.C. He never failed to make me laugh with his need to fill awkward silence and need to use humor as a defense mechanism. The way I see it, he was the Jewish teenaged version of a Chandler Bing. He was always the sweetest, cutest, slightly geeky boy next door, that every girl could wish to fall in love with. Here are some of my favorite zingers from one of my favorite tv characters. Now The O.C. aired on FOX for 4 seasons. And 4 seasons of Seth Cohen makes for hundreds of funny, comedy kissed moments of perfection. But thinking at the moment, these come to mind.

Seth cohen

“I was Nemo and I just wanted to go home.”

“Shhh, we’re being stealth.”

“Maybe I don’t feel like shucking the corn, maybe you should shuck the corn yourself old man.”

“Yoohoo, maybe just you…” & “Don’t blame me for your sexual tension.”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ITgWC4CTGQ

“Oh snap!”

“I’m just having an allergic reaction to the universe.” * I couldn’t find this scene and I forget the context of this line, but it’s definitely typical Seth not being able to deal with life while feeling the need to talk about himself. haha.*

tumblr_mqbgn31AGm1sqsw9bo1_500[1]

“Do it dad, Travolta’s your bitch.” *I couldn’t find this scene but basically they are having the usual Cohen family dinner with added additions Theresa and Marissa. Which Seth describes as a #Telenovela. And Theresa mentions how she and Ryan did musicals together as children, leading Sandy to mention he was in musicals as a kid too and he sang Grease Lighting. While Kirsten jokes to change the subject before Sandy starts singing. Seth in turn delivers the line. *

Sandy cohen

“Yu-freakin’reka Ryan.” *fyi the real song in this scene is “End of the Road” by Boys II Men which Seth says he’s listening to because it’s the saddest song in the world and fits his mood, of losing Summer. But in typical Seth fashion he comes up with a plan. *

“Good Lord, I think I’m gonna pass out.”

Oh Seth Cohen, thank you for the endless laughter…

you my friend, are timeless.

Send Up Green Balloons For Glenn!

***SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!!***

Chris Hardwick meme

Haters gonna hate hate hate…

But I could care less you skeptics.

I knew it in my heart that Glenn is still ALIVE!!!!!!

glenn alive

Take a look at my own personal instagram campaign if you will, as I wrote Glenn on my wrist/hand for the past 4 weeks, in hopes that he’d be back with us soon. Captioning each picture “I got you babe.” Because my heart knew he was still alive. I know, #psychofan, but I take this shit seriously, no shame. Judge me. 😉

i got you babe glenn heartGlenn heartCapture 2Capture

I had to do something special to show my love for him. It served as my #goodluckcharm. I’d like to think I had a hand in the outcome 😉 haha.

As Sunday night’s Episode 7 entitled “Heads Up” of The Walking Dead finally revealed what we’ve been waiting to hear for the past 4 weeks, your girl was dancing and jumping around, screaming in her living room. Yup, I was in with the fans waiting on that dumpster, with no shame.

Today in honor of Green Balloons for Glenn (we’ll get to that,) you guessed it, I wore green to support my boys future homecoming!

green for glenn

Let’s break down the episode, Nicolas was in deed Glenn’s shield and protection. Well at least he was good for something in the end. Sorry Nicolas, but you know what you did. You tried to kill Glenn and mess with the well-being of the group too many times to be greatly missed. But I do think he in some way was meant to help Glenn to make up for everything. Terrible outcome, but definitely sparked a conversation.

People had their jokes about us believers.

Glenn dumpster

Saying we were crazy, saying there was no way that he could survive that zombie infested alley.

0j27UVunt6lx[1]4876508-3[1]

And although I admit it unrealistic that he did, Glenn has always been one resourceful dude. And he’s maintained his humanity but still manages to escape the craziest of situations.

The mind games the cast and creators of the show were playing with us, gave us little solace. Like the ambiguity they were throwing out “you saw what you saw,” “Glenn will come back in some way.” Maggie revealing she is pregnant. Removing his name from the credits. (Well his name is back baby! Right in its rightful place near the pocket watch Hershel gave him.) It’s been a crazy and emotional ride.

credits-steven-yeun[1]

Right where you belong.

But as usual fans like us…we knew better, we had faith and we believed.

It was an interesting journey as the episode started we see a black screen and we hear the words “Thank You” uttered by Nicolas accompanied by the gunshot and the piercing feedback from it, as we are brought back to the alley of walkers that cornered both he and Glenn. We watch as Nicolas falls onto Glenn and it is he who is being ripped apart and shielding Glenn from any actual bites. Glenn slides his way up under the dumpster and takes cover, killing the nearest zombie forming a shield. And after waiting out the herd, for what seems like a day, he emerges with only a couple bumps and bruises. I have to say I thought he was going to at least have been bitten and that he would in turn need to chop off a limb. But he was A-Okay…which makes me thrilled.

The rest of the episode we see Glenn come across Enid, as she throws him a bottle of water. He goes after her to try and ask how everyone back home in Alexandria is doing. He asks what the noise was that swayed the herd, he asks about Maggie. I swear every time he calls Maggie his wife, my heart flutters a bit. It’s kind of the sweetest thing to hear him say that.

enid

Throughout Glenn and Enid’s storyline we see the dad in Glenn come out. As he battles with her to come back to Alexandria with him. Saying things like “my wife wouldn’t want me to leave you.” Fighting her and her nasty attitude and even pulling a gun off her after she points it directly at him, because she doesn’t want him to try and save or help her. We get it Enid you’re a teenager, but chill with the dramatics, because it’s the zombie apocalypse and ain’t nobody got time for that. Shit needs to get done. Glenn said it best, “You point a gun at my head and I’m the asshole.” Haha Glenn you are going to make one awesome dad. He later mentions that he’s helping her not for Maggie anymore, but for what I can only assume is himself and the child he is about to have and its future. He goes on to tell Enid that they are not supposed to let the world die, and that you honor the dead (the people they’ve lost) by living.

We are brought to Maggie’s journey simultaneously as she takes watch overlooking the gate, waiting, hoping for a sign. She mentions that “this is the direction he would come from, and that if he were to send a sign, she’d see it from up there.” Rick joins her and gives her hope that she’s right. Maggie even makes mention to Judith and how she looks so much like Lori, her motherly instincts are already kicking in! As the episode continues on, we see Enid and Glenn try and find their way home, as they come to a hill overlooking Alexandria and the walker count keeps going up. Glenn and Enid accumulate quite a large amount of Green Balloons that were from the initial distract the walkers plan and use them to send up as a signal to Maggie and the rest of the group that he is out there and trying to get home. Maggie sees them and goes running, telling Rick “that’s Glenn.” This moment made my heart burst. I am a sucker for the Glenn/Maggie love story from that first moment he saw her riding on her horse in season 2.

green balloons a sign

This brings me to my next order of business. Now I don’t read the comics, I’d rather not spoil the show for myself. But in some shape or form the show does follow the comics at times. And in the comics, Glenn does in fact die. And he dies by the hand of a Savior named Negan who takes a bat to his head. It’s said to be one of the comic’s craziest scenes and deaths. And it was recently reported (during the emotional wreck we had to endure….seriously strategic timing) that Negan was cast and will be played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan. So there’s still that fear that Glenn’s death can only be a season away. Which would be hellish and quite frankly down right evil, for them to dangle that hope in front of us only to rip it away. But I guess that’s how things roll in the zombie apocalypse. But I will in no way shape or form be okay with that. Let it be known, I don’t want to go through this again.

walkingdead11f-1-web[1]

There is another fear, hanging over our heads as well. And that fear is that something could happen to Maggie, in some twisted original death tradeoff.  As we see in the end of Sunday’s episode the watch tower comes crashing down, breaking their wall of protection down and allowing the walkers full access into Alexandria. No one is safe. And Maggie is seen running for her life in the promo for next week. Maggie better be okay! I can’t deal with this!!!!

The Mid-season finale is next week, and word to the wise people, do yourself a favor and WATCH IT LIVE! I’m so tired of people complaining that the internet ruins it because they say things before they watch it. 1.) Stay off the internet then. 2.)You only have yourself to blame. I’m a fan, and I need to talk about things that happen on this show!

New episodes are coming in February 2016, and the series has been renewed for a 7th season for October 2016 as if there was any doubt.

Now onto The Talking Dead.

Steven Yeun released a special message during a commercial break during AMC’s Into the Badlands saying;

“I’ve been following everything you’ve been saying and it’s meant so much to me to see all of your support and concern for Glenn, The Walking Dead has the best fans in the world and I’m happy to be back.”

And we are happy to have you back Steven! And can I just say to anyone who was disappointed by the fact that they kept Glenn alive, what the hell is wrong with you? His story isn’t finished, and you know you love him, so suck it up and enjoy the ride!

Yeun also finally posted on social media as well.

steven yeun thank you twittersteven yeun thank you insta

Executive Producer Gale Ann Hurd was on The Talking Dead and discussed the insanity that went into trying to keep this storyline a secret. She told Chris Hardwick how each actor and everyone involved in the show were asked to sign non-disclosure agreements.

Steven joked about how he didn’t get out much for the last few weeks, and that he ate a lot of takeout and his apartment looks like a hoarders. He also joked that he possibly lost some friends, because he wasn’t able to talk to them about the show. Steven mentioned how overwhelming the response has been, and how he barely knew how to address it, and that he felt bad that he wasn’t able to talk to anyone about what was going on.

He also spoke about how through social media we can all communicate and that with The Walking Dead and this current storyline they realize How they “affected a lot of people at once.”

Steven compared Enid and Glenn’s interaction of her throwing him a water battle in his time of need to his Walkie moment “hey dumbass” scene with Rick from Season 1. Which I thought was so true and really beautiful now that I think about it. And it’s beautiful to see that even though Glenn is always the guy to help someone out no matter who they are, to see him so aware of the fact that he’s going to be a dad and he’s trying to instill some kind of hope back into this young girl, is showing that he’s ready to take on this journey with Maggie. Yeun mentions Glenn wants to be able to tell his son or daughter that he did everything he could possibly do to maintain his humanity in this world. Let it be known that Glenn is the only original character that still hasn’t killed a human. As Yeun said on The Talking Dead that in the past seasons Glenn was fearful of creating a life with Maggie and now that he has seen Alexandria as a potential safe haven, it is only natural for him to want that start a life with Maggie.

baby glaggie

Baby Glaggie coming soon!

When Chris Hardwick asked about the storyline and whether or not the creators or actors would be worried that the non-death of Glenn would send the wrong message to the fans, Writer and Producer Scott Gimple said that they “wanted to tell a story of uncertainty this season, and that they wanted the audience to be (and feel) where Maggie is. I sure as hell did!

Yeun said Glenn’s fate was more about “sometimes even in this world the good guy can win.” I  absolutely love that and I just hope it lasts long. This whole ordeal has me doing a lot of obsessive researching to see how the world is reacting, I’m seeing a lot of hate on the fact that he’s alive, which is kind of an oxymoron because the world erupted when we all thought they killed him off. I mean who ever really wanted him to die? Who doesn’t love Glenn! I don’t get that, I mean who gives a crap if they fooled us, that’s storytelling and we still got what we wanted, screw shock value. I’m all for Glenn being alive! There’s definitely more to come.

On The Talking Dead they instead of giving Glenn an In Memoriam… The gave him an Un-Memoriam

They crossed out Glenn’s name and wrote… (Much like taking his name down from the memorial wall, like Maggie did two episodes ago.) As Hallelujahs sing aloud.

We are so happy you are alive! ….For now. (Ugh bite your tongue TTD)

I get the emotional rollercoaster, I understand coming from a writer’s perspective they are telling a story, and I respect that. Like I said, I will say YOU GOT ME GOOD and be happy he is alive. I admit I had my fair share of my angry tweets, but as a fan it’s only natural to have that knee jerk reaction to be angry with the writers and creators. As someone who loves television and loves to write and hopes to one day write for television this idea that this show was able to stir up something so grand in people and have fans talking across the board was a tall order and they managed to do it. And I think when you get that kind of reaction from your fans, even if they hatefully disagree with your story telling at the moment, to get that passionate of a response shows you must be doing something right.

We the fans, take this show seriously and we consider the original characters family at this point. Glenn is one of the few originals left, and it was hell to be in limbo for so long about what happened to him. But in hindsight, now that the pain of the unknown is in the past, we can laugh and say it was great storytelling in its own right and I appreciate them not waiting too long to let us in on Glenn’s fate. And I am extremely happy that they chose to give us what we wanted to see rather than shock us with an impromptu death. Because that’s essentially what the show is all about. That anyone can go at any time, regardless of backstory, or family, or love.

We can only hope we don’t get destroyed by next week’s outcome (as the symbol of hope for Maggie is tarnished by the collapse of the watch tower,) or later on in the series when Negan is introduced. We can only be joyful for the extra time we will have with Glenn and Steven Yeun’s portrayal of him. And hopefully from the reaction they received this time trying to kill Glenn off they realize killing our beloved Glenn isn’t acceptable. And just to throw it out into the universe, neither is killing Maggie, Baby Glaggie/ Gleggie, Rick, Daryl, Michonne, Carol, Judith or Carl.

You can exhale until next week my fellow TWD fans. And remember send up some green balloons for Glenn! Our boy is back!

My Glenn/The Walking Dead Theory

So as you can probably tell from my last post, I’m having a difficult times believing that Glenn has died on The Walking Dead. And with all the theories and speculations and that cryptic message show runner Scott Gimple released to The Talking Dead’s Chris Hardwick, I’m just so uncertain that what we saw on screen was all there was to the story. I think there’s more. So here’s my theory.

Michael Traynor as Nicholas and Steven Yeun as Glenn Rhee - The Walking Dead _ Season 6, Episode 3 - Photo Credit: Gene Page/AMC

Yes the more I watch the scene, the more I think Nicolas’ body fell on him sideways and is shielding Glenn from becoming walker bait. And the blood and guts you see are indeed Nicolas’ intestines and such…

glenn-nicholas-1445855906[1]

glenn-guts-1445855900[1]

I saw a meme out there that made me laugh it said something like “Psst, hey chill out he’s alive, your intestines aren’t in your chest.” Haha. Has a point, no?

And Glenn’s reaction is just from fear and sadness. Even though Nicolas was someone who Glenn -let’s be honest- someone he hated. Glenn is still Glenn and he feels everything. He feels every loss of human life. In fact it’s been recently discovered that Glenn is one of the few characters on The Walking Dead that has never killed a human being. That fact totally skated by me, considering I totally see Glenn as a badass. He does what needs to be done, and he knows the danger behind this world and he knows when he has to be cautious of someone. But he has a heart of gold when you really think about it.

4733e3928b099097587fab5b99924659[1]

It’s possible he was able to wiggle his way free and hide under the dumpster for cover. It is literally his only option for safety considering the walkers are coming from all angles.

But how the hell can he get out of this crazy herd of walkers unscathed?

Chances are he won’t.

Meaning that he probably got bitten on some kind of expendable part of his body. I’m thinking a hand, arm, leg, or foot. Something that he could chop off and still go on living. Although I think leg and foot would be way worse and the leg would be way too Hershel. But this part of my theory leads to a connection to what Gimple said that we may see “parts of Glenn.” Body parts left behind, for someone to find and think he’s gone. Which is ok. We can handle that. We’ve seen it done before and characters still lasted for quite a while. RIP Hershel. RIP Merle. But Glenn will show up in some epic reveal! Hell yeah.

Then Michonne noticing something is up, because let’s be honest home-girl has some wicked instincts and she follows them. She will go looking for him, and find him as they both circle back and save Rick’s trapped ass.

Hey Dumbass? 😉

rick rv pNw7cQTL-600x399[1]

Let’s be real that would be kind of dope. Glenn saving Rick from the RV of doom (with one arm like a boss), much like he saved him back in Season 1 from the tank fiasco.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Daryl magically shows up too, cause well he shines in these moments.

I just think that Glenn has tried to be like Rick and get to the point where he can leave someone behind, or shoot someone point blank because they cause a threat. But he managed to take it back and keep his moral compass intact. Damn Damn Damn. As Chris Hardwick always says, you never want to be the moral compass of this show, because then you end up dead. I don’t believe that’s the case with Glenn. Glenn isn’t naïve about this world. He has a keen conscience and hell of a right hook.

Case in point.

Michael Traynor as Nicholas and Steven Yeun as Glenn Rhee - The Walking Dead _ Season 5, Episode 16 - Photo Credit: Gene Page/AMC

I think it would be really lame of the show to end Glenn’s story here. I think they have so much story left to tell. Glenn’s arch has been about him becoming a leader, a man, a husband, a caretaker. The arch could do a complete 180 if they allow Glenn to live. Think about how much death Glenn has been witness to, think about the images he has to suffer and relive over and over again. Losing Dale the way they did, Noah getting ripped from his grasp and torn apart right in front of him knowing there was nothing he could do to help him, and now Nicolas who literally shot himself I front of Glenn and then Glenn has to have his body be ripped apart on top of him, mirroring his possible faith.

I think it would be amazing to see Glenn make that transition toward who Rick has become. Some may say he’s crazy or cold. But he’s lived this life, he knows the risks, he knows the stakes. I think Glenn knows them to but he approaches things differently, which makes him him, and which makes him different from the other leaders in the show. I think it’d be interesting to watch him attempt to deal with all of this. I think it would make for some amazing character development. And would also make for some really deep, raw scenes between him and Maggie. Considering Maggie has suffered so much loss herself.

He can’t die. He just can’t. It doesn’t make sense for the show. So Scott Gimple, I ask you is the shock value of a possible Glenn death really worth risking the possibility for an amazing story arch for Steven Yeun’s character? No. That’s what I thought. I think you’re messing with us here and if you indeed are, and Glenn is alive (and you KEEP him alive, none of this he survives only to be killed later on this season) then I will tip my hat off to you and say YOU GOT ME. And that was one hell of an epic fake out.

Sunday’s episode is 90 minutes long, fingers crossed that I can come back with some answers more to my liking. Because Glenn dying on The Walking Dead is no laughing matter and I think I speak on behalf of the fandom when I say it is unacceptable. And to those saying if Glenn lives the show will lose credit, I say the have more to lose killing off a character everyone loves. Nobody is going to say “Oh my god this show is so stupid why didn’t they just kill Glenn.” We all love you Glenn, we want you around for a long long time.

THE WALKING DEAD WENT TOO FAR!

OK So I don’t know what to think, or how to feel. I do know that I cried, that I jumped up and stood on my couch, then curled into a ball and hid in my sweater. I also know that I am in complete denial. This show, the people, are part of my Sunday night family and it is more than just a show. 6 years we as fans have been on this journey and you get attached to characters, you get attached to their stories and the relationships they make with each other. And in the word of the show, even though you know people have to die to keep the story going, you convince yourself that there are certain characters that are just off limits. A do not kill list if you will.

There’s a lot of skepticism revolving the death of a very beloved Walking Dead character. If you don’t wish to spoiler it for yourself…STOP READING NOW! I repeat SPOILER ALERTS AHEAD, stop reading now!

Ok you’ve been warned.

steven-yeun-glenn-walking-dead-season-5[1]

About 45 minutes into Sunday night’s The Walking Dead- Glenn Rhee’s fate seemed to be made clear as walkers surrounded both him and well hated Alexandrian, Nicolas. Nicolas choosing to end his life brings Glenn down with him into the pile of walkers and we see them get ripped alive by walkers. Yes NICHOLAS the same bastard who got Noah killed, and shot Glenn trying to kill him. The same Nicolas who we knew from day one, couldn’t be trusted. But Glenn being Glenn, always gives second chances, and tries to believe the best in people, and the best in himself. So when Nicolas asked to come along on a diversion plan to help Glenn lure the walkers away from the group, Glenn let him come and try to redeem himself. This is what now, chance 505, and Nicolas screws Glenn yet again. This time maybe for the last time.

44a6edb0-397d-0132-4108-0ebc4eccb42f[1]

The view in front of me was a sea of denial. As I anticipated something really bad  was bound to happen with Nicolas is around. But seeing Glenn get ripped apart was some kind of bad dream. I still can’t believe it and I choose to not believe it. After everything he survived, the well, the collapsed tunnel, merle and the attack of  the governor, terminus, etc. I refuse to believe that THIS is how his story ends. That his death is merely a cautionary tale. BULL SHIT. I call BULL SHIT.

And last but not least, I refuse to believe that Maggie is going to lose the only member left of her family, her husband. Their love story has been one of my favorite parts of the show, watching them stumble around each other like two geeky teens in puppy love, to man and wife. Seeing the little moments between these two scripted or not, are beautiful and rare in this zombie apocalypse world. It is the sweetest gem on this show. If you know me, you know my obsession with love stories, so that right there in itself automatically makes this a loss for me as a Glenn fan and as a Glenn and Maggie fan.

Maggie-Glenn-The-Walking-Dead-season-4-438x700[1]

After the walkers “consume the both of them”, you get an obscure view of Glenn screaming and it looks like his guts are being ripped out of him. But then they cut and you never see what truly happens to him, making you think that he’s just dead. (Not to mention that there were 15 minutes of the damn episode left.) Later on Michonne notices Glenn isn’t meeting up with them like he said he would, and he isn’t answering Rick on his walkie talkie either.

However, as I watched The Talking Dead, some theories are starting to cook. Some people seem to think that when Nicolas shot himself and fell into the crowd of walkers pulling Glenn down with him, Nicolas fell on top of him and that is who was being ripped apart. And that Glenn’s screaming expression is just his reaction to that. Some also seem to think that Glenn got free and hid under the dumpster.

Scott Gimple released a statement that Chris Hardwick read aloud on The Talking Dead that basically alluded to a very cryptic possibility that Glenn could still be alive, could be in pieces, could be in flashbacks, or could be a walker. But that Glenn’s story will be resolved. If you ask me that doesn’t help me very much. It doesn’t help my heart. Although the writers and producers have never released statements about a character’s death quite like this, so this ambiguity could just be a cinematic epic lead on …*fingers crossed.*

The cast isn’t commenting on Glenn’s death. Steven Yeun, who plays Glenn hasn’t said a word. And usually they do when it comes to their character’s death. Something smells fishy.

Glenn has been on the show from the first season. He is one of the few originals left that has lasted this long. And he and Maggie are the only true love story on this show. He is one of my favorite characters. His arch has been one of true leadership, honesty, bravery, and love for his group. The family he has created for himself in this wicked world is one he will do anything for. Always following his gut and instincts to trust him to find his way and lead others to safety. Always looking out for the next person, always willing to do the heavy lifting and dangerous work to protect his people and others. Glenn is good, to a fault, as he always tries to give people the benefit of the doubt. He is kind, but at the same time has lived in this world long enough to know how to survive.

the-walking-dead-season-4-glenn-and-tara-in-tunnel[1]

It kills me to think that in these last few episodes he and Maggie haven’t even spent any real time together, and they didn’t even get to say goodbye. If this is truly Glenn’s fate, then I’m sorry Walking Dead but this time you really got it wrong. I can deal with you killing Hershel (he had one leg and it was bound to happen but it was such a cruel, harsh death for a sweet sweet man), and Beth (there was a bunch of foreshadowing but seriously after all that time waiting to find where she was, and you still killed her)….although they were the hardest two deaths to take in, I could deal, but Glenn…this I cannot deal with. You need to FIX THIS. Please don’t let this be true, please don’t let this be true. Until next week….it’s a 90 minute episode, so they better make this up to us. And Glenn better be alive.

What do you guys think? You be the judge….Watch the painful scene HERE

13 Times Haley James (Scott) Handled Things Like A BOSS.

So I randomly got into watching some One Tree Hill episodes a few nights ago, and I was reminded of just how much I love Haley James Scott. She was always my favorite character. I always felt like aside from the fact that she ended up married by 16 and pregnant by 18, I thought she was the most “real” or most accurate version of a typical teenager/girl next door. I saw things in her, that I saw in myself. And as a writer and a tv lover, I realize that’s gold when you are trying to hook an audience. When people relate to your characters, you truly have something special.

haley angel

Haley James Scott, known for being the goody two shoes of the group. The kind, and sweet and innocent girl that always had a thing for people who needed fixing. She was the girl who spent her free time working shifts at the café to earn spending money, tutoring kids, and studying and being brilliant. But by season 2 she was a full fledged singer, and we saw new side of Haley. #Rockstarr

However, let’s be honest underneath that sweet nice girl act, was a sassy girl just dying to get out. Mess with her, or someone she cares about and you will feel her wrath. And in those moments above all else, I LOVED HER!

Because Haley James Scott was more than just Nathan Scott’s wife, or Tree Hill High’s teacher, more than Haley James singer and tour travel goer. Haley James Scott was a young woman who spoke her mind when she felt something was wrong. A girl who never faulted on her beliefs, and always without a doubt followed her heart. Because Haley James Scott was a BADASS! And here’s why…

13 Times Haley James (Scott) Handled Things Like A BOSS.

  1. When Haley finds Nanny Carrie and Nathan all nake-fied and stepping out of the shower.

2. When Haley bitches out Peyton for kissing Lucas when he’s with Lindsay.

3. When Haley bitches out Lucas for proposing to Lindsay when she saw him kiss Peyton. @1:24

#ILovedLindsay #PeytonAlwaysIrritatedMe #WhyDidntHaleyAndLucasEverGetItOn

4. When Haley throws a drink in Rachel’s face and slaps her at she and Nathan’s house party.

^ Skills: “Yo ma I think it’s time for you to leave.” haha

5. When Haley shoves the mother of the kid who’s been bullying Jamie.

6. When Haley pukes in Dan’s lap after spending the day playing hooky and drinking with Nathan, . #DrunkHaley #SoUnHaleyLike But hysterical.

7. When Haley and Nathan fight over her not being on birth control pills.

-He was such an a$$ here, like as if it’s only her responsibility. And he never SHUT UP about basketball and HIS dream, but whatever that is an angry rant for a different time.

8. When Haley and Nathan fight about Nanny Carrie and Haley asks for a divorce.

9. When Haley slaps a bitch…named Renee.

10. When Haley and Nathan talk about Nathan’s Sex Tape he made with Brooke. #pregnancyhormones LMAO.

11. When Haley initiates “slutty wedding sex,” with Nathan.

12. When Haley and Nathan fight during a Tree Hill storm and the power goes out.

13. When Haley tells off Principal Rimkus.

So yes, I know that there are many more sassy Haley James Scott moments out there, but we’d be here forever. These are the ones that came to mind first. Tell me which ones I missed!

And also can we just take a moment and fangirl a.k.a freak the heck out over these One Tree Hill conventions that have been going on all over lately. The cast’s instagram game is EVERYTHING. They need to leave Paris for a while and come visit NEW YORK. Joy I’m still waiting to do brunch, oh and we can invite Sophia Bush along too! 😉 #FangirlLife
