Ok, so as we can all see Christmas is in full force and it is rapidly approaching. And with Christmas on it’s way, the tv specials and Christmas movies are airing one after the other. Every year abc family does it’s “25 Days of Christmas” where they play Christmas movies every night and currently I think they are abusing “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” lol. Don’t get me wrong, I love it! But I mean I don’t need to watch it every night. But every Christmas there are certain movies I just love to watch. Plus I am a real sucker for a good abc family, hallmark, or lifetime movie.
Here are a few of my TOP CHRISTMAS MOVIE FAVS
#1.) A Christmas Story (1983)
Ralphie has to convince his parents, teachers, and Santa that a Red Ryder B.B. gun really is the perfect gift for the 1940s.
#2.) Home Alone (1990)
An 8-year-old boy who is accidentally left behind while his family flies to France for Christmas must defend his home against idiotic burglars….the wet bandits.
#3.) Elf (2003)
After inadvertently wreaking havoc on the elf community due to his ungainly size, a man raised as an elf at the North Pole is sent to the U.S. in search of his true identity.
#4.) The Polar Express (2004)
On Christmas Eve, a doubting boy boards a magical train that’s headed to the North Pole and Santa Claus’ home.
*The next two are throw backs for me, personally, and may not be as well known as the previous…
#5.) Three Days (2001) [abc family movie]
Ten years ago, Andrew Farmer married his childhood sweetheart, Beth. Now Andrew is a high-powered literary agent, and his relationship with his wife has not fared as well. After a marital argument about his possible infidelity, Beth runs out at midnight and, whilst trying to retrieve their neighbors’ dog in the middle of the street, she is killed by a car, on Christmas Eve. An angel, Lionel, gives Andrew the chance to relive the last three days as if his wife was alive. There’s a catch: he cannot change the fate of his wife. There’s only one gift he can give to save her life and he only has a very short time to figure out what that gift is. So Andrew spends three days trying to make Beth as happy as can be and figure out how to keep her alive, while finding out what he would really be losing.
*I have to watch it every year, I don’t know what it is, but I just think it’s a beautiful love story. Full Movie in link! I am so psyched because I missed it when they showed it on tv and now I get to watch it!
#6.) The Ultimate Christmas Present (2000) [Disney Channel movie]
A girl steals a weather machine from Santa Claus, to make a snow day. The machine breaks,
and causes an out-of-control snowstorm.
(Couldn’t find a trailer for this one :/)
*This movie is old school I used to be obsessed with it when I was a kid, and if I catch in on nowadays it’s just a fun reminder of being younger and having a more simplistic understanding of life and of Christmas.
So sip on some hot cocoa or tea, cuddle up with some cozy blankets, fuzzy socks and watch some Christmas flicks!
