#5: You Rock My World

Clocking in at over 13 minutes, another gangster related mini movie was born. And I’m ok with this. This was the first single off of Michael’s last album Invincible, while he was alive to record and release new music himself. To be quite honest this album had not been as well received as all his previous ones. But I have to say that I really enjoyed it. There are songs from that able that I adore, and that I think should be recognized more. You Rock My World, is another guy chases girl only this time Chris Tucker lends a hand brings the funny. I can count 3 jokey shout outs on Chris’ account to Michael’s previous hits….”That girl’s a pretty young thang…I don’t know I got a bad feeling about this, I think we should just beat it…this girl is dangerous.” To me this video proved that Michael still had it. Although his game could use a little work, “Hey! Come here.” Michael just because you cat call at a girl, don’t mean she’ll come running. Just Sayin’. 😉 But props for always wanting to save a “damsel in distress.” It’s all about wanting to keep her safe. Then at the 3 minute mark…something magical happens, Michael’s silhouette takes the stage and the original song is started off as an a capella. It’s a beautiful thing to hear the shuffle of his feet as he throws out each move and the snapping of his fingers. You know another legendary dance routine is about to take you over. Brace yourself for the king.

#4: Black Or White

Oh hey Macaulay Culkin….kids and their loud music. Parents just don’t understand. The guitar in this song is unbelievable and gives me goosebumps. It don’t matter if you’re black or white. It’s simple. We are all equal. That’s the message here. “I’m not gonna spend my life bein a color.” And Having been scrutinized for his ski color change, Michael set the record straight. [disclaimer: Michael was said to have bleached his skin due to a skin condition] But never the less this video is incredible and sends a great message. I love the ending where all the faces of people of all different genders, race, color, looks, shapes, sizes, change and morph into one another! Bravo Michael. Message received.

#3: Smooth Criminal

Clocking in at nearly 10 minutes, Michael delivers again. In his typical fedora and suit, only Michael Jackson could flip a coin from across the room into a jukebox and kick start a song. 😉 “Annie are you ok?” And we set off into yet another record making dance routine. The famous MJ lean (no hands ma!) What I love about Michael videos most is that every video follows a specific plot line. I’m a sucker for a gangster squad storyline. You are thrown into this world and you believe it. You are a part of it. And every disagreement, every fight, is fought through dance. And it’s a beautiful thing. Each video has coined us an epic and trademark dance move/ moves.

#2: The Way You Make Me Feel

“GO ON GIRL! ” This video is actually such a favorite of mine it just misses the #1 spot. If there was no Thriller this would be it. But then again no one wants to live in a world where Thriller doesn’t exist! Ok so let me break it down for you. Not only is this song probably my favorite Michael Jackson song…(that’s saying a lot!) but the storyline of this video is just SO GOOD. Basically it’s a guy chasing a girl. Girl passes him up and he screams “HEYY!!!” (my favorite part) You knock me off of my feet now baby, HOOOO!” and then the lion/tiger growl cues and the beat starts and Michael begins his strut and conquest of getting the girl. It is so so good, that I can’t take it. And the silhouetted dance break is badass.

#1: Thriller

Directed by John Landis. Greatest music video of all time. I love how it tells a story. It goes from a movie date to them basically living in their own movie. It breaks the barriers between reality and fantasy. The makeup is still kick ass and attests the stand of time. Those zombie dancers could easily be seen on the zombie phenomenon The Walking Dead. Even though effects and horror have come such a long way, and some may say this video is a mirrored cheap version of a mini horror movie. This video came out in the 80’s which means the cinematography, costume design, and makeup done in this were all cutting edge and broke the mold. If you ask me, I still get slight chills when watching this video or even just hearing the song, and when Vincent Price’s laughing cackle shrieks out at the end, and we see Michael turn around with those yellow cat like eyes. Ugh SO GOOD. Love this video! Your skin just crawls. It’s a video that makes you scared one second and want the dance the next. The dancing is the coolest routine I’ve ever seen and the song is just…well let’s put it this way…. This video is complete proof of why Michael Jackson is considered the greatest entertainer of all time. Thriller is the longest music video (clocking in at about 14 minutes long) which started the mini movie music video trend both for Michael and future artists.

*The thing about Michael’s videos is that there’s always a story. there’s always a build up. They start slow, hit you with a climax then resolve the issue at hand. So many videos these days are rubbish because it’s all big booty girls who are half naked grinding on a pole. There’s no storyline, no intrigue, no cinematic dreamery. Music is such an amazing outlet and how beautiful it is when you can see it being bright to life. The video for a music video should always match the message in the song.*

Random Bonus Video…because it’s just too good to leave out!

A haunted house gone wrong. Stephen King was involved in the story writing…which I never knew and that makes so much sense now that I think about it. In this creeper Halloween special Michael lives in an old creaky creeper mansion, and when neighbors come over to complain Michael challenges those who call him a freak. I remember watching the making of this with my family. We were all gathered around the tv and were completely amazed. It was a big special and video release, just in time for Halloween. This is a legit film short. Coming in at over a half an hour. Michael reinvents his level of creativity and the barriers he will cross to achieve it. Fun Fact: Michael plays “Michael” and the overly judgmental guy in a suit and several other characters!

Mysterious Attraction- Chapter 10 Part 3

So I’ve kind of been MIA as you may have noticed, but I have once again had to battle with my computer so I finally had to buckle down and purchase a new one. So now we should be good to go. And once again I can post more frequently as I have missed it so much! So as promised, let’s get to it as we round out Chapter 10 of Mysterious Attraction.

One month later…

Lexie is home recuperating and Carter is waiting on her hand and foot.

Carter: Here babe…(he hands her a glass of water and her prenatal vitamins.)

Lexie: Thank you. (she takes the pills and sips her water)

Carter: Drink the whole glass…water is very important when you’re pregnant.

Lexie: I know that.

Carter: So drink it, come on.

Lexie gulps her glass down.

Lexie: Happy?

Carter: Very (he smiles) So how you feeling…(he sits next to her on the couch.)

Lexie: Good.

Carter: Any pain?

Lexie: Just a little. But not unbearable. The doctor did say the wound is healing nicely though.

Carter nods.

Carter: And what about this little one? (He puts his hand on her growing baby bump.)

Lexie: Getting stronger every day, (she smiles.)

Carter: I’m so glad you’re both ok, I don’t know what I would have done if…

Lexie: Well lucky for you, you don’t have to find out. Because I will be around for a longggg time, continuing to do all the annoying things that drive you crazy. (she smiles brightly and bats her eyelashes.)

Carter: (laughs) I wouldn’t have it any other way…. I love you, you know that…

Lexie: I do. I love you too. (she strokes his face)

Carter: Do you know how much I love you?

Lexie: Well…I wouldn’t mind hearing it all over again. (she smiles and laughs as he kisses her)

Carter: You know while you were in the hospital the only thing I kept thinking about was the fact that you never got the see this.

He pulls out a small blue velvet ring box and opens it, showing off a sparkly diamond ring.

Lexie gasps and looks up at him.

Lexie: Are you serious?

Carter: Yes. The day that you got taken was the day I went to get this. I went out to pick up dinner just so I could pick this up. The call I got wasn’t about the divorce it was from the jeweler saying this was ready. I just wanted you to be surprised. We’ve been through so much over the past year, that I just really wanted this moment to be perfect for you. I didn’t want you to suspect anything. And then when I can home and I saw you weren’t here I-

Lexie: We don’t have to talk about that.

Carter: I should have been here.

Lexie: Carter, stop it. Do not blame yourself. I won’t have it.

Carter: I just…I want you to know that I can protect you. And I know that you hate when I say that, but the truth is we are a couple, and there are gonna be times when you’re gonna need to let yourself lean on me. Now I realize I haven’t exactly done the best job of protecting you so far, but-

Lexie: Shut up, would you? (she laughs) Skully was a tyrant ok, even my father couldn’t predict what was going to happen, and he’s been dealing with Skully’s mind games for years. I’m ok. The baby is ok. We’re ok. Besides I’ve never felt safer than I do when I’m with you. (Carter smiles at her) So… you were saying…(she gestures to the ring with a big smile.)

Carter: I realize that this isn’t any girl’s ideal proposal, and in my head this planned to be a lot more romantic…

Lexie: So you’ve been planning this for a while?

Carter: You could say that.

Lexie: It’s perfect.

Carter: Not really. I would have preferred to give you a longer recovery time, but if I wait any longer to do this, I think I’m gonna go insane…so…

Lexie: Shut up and ask me already. (she smiles)

Carter smirks and kneels down on one knee.

Carter: Will you marry me?

Lexie: Absolutely. (she smiles as he slides the ring on her finger and kisses her)

Carter: Did you ever think we’d get here?

Lexie: Where…barefoot, pregnant and engaged?

Carter: Well yea…but I mean…happy?

Lexie: So happy. (she smiles and leans up to kiss him)

Carter: So did you think we’d ever get here?

Lexie: That depends. I definitely hoped for it…but given how we started…back then it was difficult to see this actually playing out. But like everything in our relationship, it’s all unconventional.

Carter: Ha, that’s an understatement. Yea we definitely don’t fit the typical restraints of a love story. The way we started…my god…do you remember the night that we met?

Lexie: (laughs) How could I forget it?

*Flashback* (A few years ago)

A bar

Music playing

Drinks clinking

People socializing

Carter sits at the bar drinking and brooding over his nearly failed marriage, looking at an old crinkled photo of his wife Kelly on their wedding day, that he keeps in his wallet.

Lexie sits a few people over drinking some red wine with some friends.

Carter’s eyes fall on her and she’s talking to someone; laughing and smiling.

Carter stares and watches.

Everything about her electrified his curiosity. He wanted to be near her. And yet he didn’t even know her.

Playing with his wedding ring Carter takes it off and spins it on the bar top next to the photograph.

Bartender Bill: Can I get you another?

Carter: Yea…keep em comin’.

Lexie calls out…

Lexie: Hey Billy boy, how bout another round….when you get a chance.

Bartender Bill: Right away Ms. Lexie.

Lexie smiles, and looks at Carter. Their glares are shared for a brief second before Carter looks away.

Bartender Bill: Here ya go.

Lexie: Thanks baby.

She hands the drinks to her friends.

Bartender Bill notices Carter’s eyes on Lexie.

Bartender Bill: Intoxicating huh?

Carter: What?

Bartender Bill: Lexie…she’s intoxicating.

Carter: I wouldn’t know. I’m a married man. (he puts his ring back on)

Bartender Bill: Oh. It’s just the way you were looking at her, I thought maybe-…my mistake.

Carter: Nah that’s ok. (he shrugs and shakes his head) Why… what’s her story?

He tries to sound disinterested when he actually is more than interested.

Bartender Bill: Let’s just say you don’t wanna get on her bad side, she comes from a pretty well known family, her Dad isn’t exactly on the right side of the law. And she’s a pretty tough chick to try and get one over on, but that hasn’t stopped many a men from trying.

Carter glances over at Lexie again, she notices and smiles, biting her fire cracker red glossy bottom lip.

Oh dear god. Carter thinks.

Carter looks away again.

Bartender Bill: I’ll tell ya something though; those red lips, high heels and skin tight dresses are only the surface….she’ll ruin a nice guy like you for sure. Just saying word of advice, keep your distance… married or not, you’ve been warned. (he laughs)

He turns and takes the next person’s order.

An hour or so goes by and the bar begins to empty. Lexie looks over at Carter and he’s staring at her again.

She smiles and stares back.

Lexie: Hasn’t your mother ever told you…it’s not polite to stare?

Carter: Girl like you makes it pretty hard not to. (Carter surprises himself by how forward he is)

Must be the liquid courage he thinks.

Lexie gets up and starts to walk over toward him.

Lexie: Oh hunny, I’m not a girl…I’m a woman. And there’s a big difference. (she purs through red lips and white perfect teeth.)

Carter: Is there now? (he turns in his chair to face her)

What are you doing, don’t engage. Carter thinks.

Lexie: Absolutely. What’s your name? (she sips her red wine)

Carter: Carter.

Lexie: Sexy. (she smiles) Well Carter, I’m Lexie, but something tells me you already knew that. (she leans closer to him, strokes his chest and stares him in the eyes)

I’m going to hell. Carter thinks.

Lexie: Carter you seem like a sweet guy, so I’m gonna let you in on a little secret the male society has yet to learn.

Carter: What’s that? (he says unable to stop from playing along)

I’m a moth, she’s the flame. This is not going to end well. He thinks.

Lexie: See, girls wait for the guy to come to them. Women go in for the kill.

She pulls him in and kisses him.

Lexie: We take what we want. No questions asked.

Skip to…

Carter and Lexie kissing in the back of the bar…

Carter: I shouldn’t be doing this. I’m married.

Shut up you idiot. Carter thinks.

Lexie looks at him.

Lexie: You wouldn’t have been staring at me…(as his eyes wander over her)… like that… for the past 3 hours if you didn’t want this to happen.

Carter: I…

I’m speechless. I literally have lost my ability to speak words. Who is this woman? Carter thinks.

Lexie: Now something tells me you married a girl and you’re in the market for a woman… but if that’s not the case then speak now, because I don’t like wasting my time. Nor will you deserve to experience what’s about to happen. And it will be amazing, I can promise you that. (She smirks)

Holy shit. Where did she come from? Carter thinks.

Lexie: Your call.

Fuck it. Carter thinks.

Carter cups her face and kisses her.

Lexie: There may be some hope for you yet, (she smirks seductively and kisses him back.)

*End of flashback*

Lexie: Whoa whoa, was I really that forward?

Carter: Oh Yea…and it was hot as hell. (he kisses her)

Lexie: You do realize you started it all though right? I mean I realize I was a bit more forthcoming in the physical aspect when we first met but…I just got the ball rolling when you were too scared too. But you stared me down first…the entire time.

Carter: Yea but alls I did was stare. I never touched… until you did.

Lexie: Staring is almost more of a tease.

Carter: What? How do you figure?

Lexie: Because that’s the mystery. The mystery of what that person smells like, feels like…

Carter: kisses like, (he says smiling and kissing her)

Lexie: Exactly. That’s the definition of mysterious attraction. A look reveals everything and nothing at the same time. A look sets the stage…it shows that the want is there and that lets your mind wonder to all kinds of crazy places. But when you look away, it takes it all back, revealing nothing.

Carter: Funny that’s exactly what I was going for. (he laughs)

Lexie: Oh please, you had no idea, I was about to wreck you for all future women.

Carter: Yea you’re right. I had absolutely no clue. But one look and I was pretty much a goner, so I can’t really blame you for playing the part.

Lexie: I’m sorry I played it for so long.

Carter: Don’t be, we both messed with each other, we were just scared to let each other in. Our track records haven’t exactly left us unscathed from love’s brutal wrath. But we were put through the ringer and we made it. And now, we don’t have to worry about anything…besides I knew you secretly loved me.

Lexie: Oh did you now?

Carter: Yea… (he cups her face and kisses her) it was all in this- (he gestures as he kisses her again.)

Lexie smiles and kisses him back.

Fashion maven Brooke Davis from One Tree Hill

Both portrayed by one of my fashion icons and all around “idols”

I first fell in love with Ms.Bush as perky yet overly angsty teenager turned woman Brooke Davis. I watched as she fought her way through life and love and finally found her happy ending. Now as Sophia Bush embarks on her latest television drama we get a different side of her, as she fights her way through Chicago breaking down doors and arresting the bad guys as a detective.

With September 23rd being the One Tree Hill anniversary of when the show first aired 11 years ago, and September 24th being the premiere date for Chicago PD’s second season, I thought what better way to celebrate then by doing a little fashion inspired somethin’ somethin’. A style steal or get the look post….if you will.

Let’s start off with the role that brought us Sophia Bush…Brooke Davis

Brooke’s style varied over the years, but one thing was for sure, she always looked fabulous. Her fashion ranged from cheerleading uniforms and sweats, casual cute for school, dressed to kill fashionista, business chic and even as a mom she still rocked mini skirts and sexy high heels.

“He Said, She Said.”

A follow-up to “She Said.”

He Said: Hey…

She Said: Hey.

He Said: You look good.

She Said: I know. (she smirks)

He Said: (he smiles and looks at his feet nervously) How are you?

She Said: I’m really good. (she smiles simply but it’s genuine)

He Said: Good.

She Said: And you?

He Said: I’ve seen better days.

She Said: Haven’t we all. (she laughs) It’ll pass. Some days are good, some aren’t.

He Said: I know this is in poor taste to bring this up but-

She Said: Then don’t. It won’t really make a difference at this point.

He Said: Maybe not. But I just- I need to say something…

She Said: Okay.

He Said: I’m sorry. And I know that’s lame and I’ve said it countless times before. But I really am sorry. I’m sorry for what I did, I’m sorry that I hurt you and our relationship. Basically I’m just so sorry for how we left things. I really hate that the last memory you have of me is a rotten one.

She Said: Yea, well the whole situation pretty much sucked. But what can you do right. What’s done is done. It’s all in the past now.

He Said: I feel like you hate me. And I totally deserve it but-

She Said: I don’t hate you.

He Said: You don’t? (he says in shock)

She Said: I’m sure at some point I thought I did. (she laughs) But I don’t really believe in hate… I mean even if you hate someone, it’s still a feeling, you still have some kind of feeling toward them. And to me, hate is just a gateway to love. Even if you hate someone you probably have some love for them too or at least you used to. So I don’t believe in hate. I don’t hate you.

He Said: You’re kind of amazing you know that?

She Said: Obviously. (flips her hair behind her shoulder dramatically)

They share a laugh like old times.

He Said: So you still believe in love?

She Said: Oh absolutely. But you already knew that. So why are you asking? (she laughs)

He Said: I guess I just needed to hear that I didn’t ruin it for you.

She Said: (laughs) Someone’s a little full of himself. And you wonder why we never worked out. Hmmm? (she rolls her eyes and laughs making light of their situation)

He Said: I just meant…I’m sorry. (he shakes his head in frustration with himself)

She Said: It’s okay. I get that your nervous.

He Said: I can’t tell you how many times I’ve rehearsed this conversation in my head. I guess I didn’t expect you to be so nice to me. I’m losing my cool.

She Said: Well considering you were never that cool…that’s not saying much- (she laughs)

He Said: (laughs) Why are you being so nice…are you secretly plotting your revenge? (he raises his eyebrows)

She Said: Nah. I’m just a better person than you. (she fakes seriousness, then laughs)

He Said: No that’s actually true though.

She Said: Forgive yourself. I have. Life’s too short to live in regret…to live in the past.

He Said: Have you?….Forgiven me?

She Said: Look at me…do I look unhappy to you?

He Said: No. You look amazing, and you seem happier then I’ve ever seen you. Way happier than you ever were with me.

She Said: And it’s not even an act. (she smiles) Look after we broke up, everything just kind of fell into place. And I really went for the things I wanted, things that I realized I was holding myself back from. So I guess in some twisted way you cheating was a blessing in disguise.

He Said: Wow. Well then I’m really happy for you. I just wish I treated you better when I had the chance. You were worth it. That’s my biggest regret.

She Said: Well…I appreciate that.

He Said: Well now at least you know what not to look for in a relationship right? (he laughs)

She Said: Oddly enough I do.

He Said: Good… Do you think we could ever give it another shot?

She Said: No. (she laughs)

He Said: Sorry. Can’t blame a guy for trying right?

She Said: I suppose not. (she laughs, shaking her head)

He Said: Whoever gets to marry you…is one lucky guy.

She Said: I’ll tell him you said so.

He Said: Have you met him yet?

She Said: I think so.

He Said: Good for you. (they share smiles and understandings) I guess I should get going.

She Said: Okay. It was good to talk to you. Good Luck. (she gives him a goodbye hug)

He Said: Thanks for hearing me out. And for being as graceful as I remember you to be.

She Said: Oh you know… that’s just how I am. (she shrugs and laughs)

He Said: I’ll see ya. (he waves, smiles and begins to walk away)

She Said: Bye.

He Said: (he turns back toward her) Hey… if you say hate is an extension of love and you believe in love, but you don’t believe in hate. Isn’t that kind of an oxymoron?

She Said: Hasn’t anyone ever told you…everything in life is an oxymoron.

They both smile at each other one last time before they go their separate ways.

So…this is the aftermath

She Said:

I do believe that you love me, or that you think you do. And I do believe that you’re sorry, or that you think you are. But I can’t say that I think that’s enough. You can say she didn’t mean anything, that it was one time and the last time. But that doesn’t mean I believe it. I can’t trust you. That’s basically what it comes down to. I gave you my heart and you chose to break it. You chose to. You knew what you were doing. You knew it would hurt me, you knew it would hurt us. Break us. But you did it anyway. That just goes to show how little you know about love, and what it actually means to fall into it and to value it. Sometimes people don’t deserve a second chance, because it’s only risking another disappointment. It’s okay though. What you did is not okay. We are not okay. But I am. Or at least I will be. Because, I think a part of me knew you would hurt me. I think every girl deep down kind of expects it. And I don’t think that’s being a pessimist, but a realist. Guys will come and go. They will make you fall and then rip the rug out from under you. But like I said, it’s okay. We will survive, we will move on. And one day a man will come along and surprise us. We will wait for our feet to hit cold tiled floor, but that day won’t come, and then we’ll know. Then we’ll feel it. He’s it. He’s the one. And he won’t make you cry, but instead pick you up and make all the cries and lessons that came before all somehow seem worth it. You just have to be patient. He may be closer than you think. Look around. Say hi…smile.

Mysterious Attraction- Chapter 10 Part 2

RECAP

Paramedics arrive and are bringing Lexie into the ambulance on a stretcher. Carter and the others are close behind.

Paramedic 1: There’s only room for one family member to come with us. The rest can follow us to the hospital.

Carter looks at Reeves.

Reeves: Go. We’ll be right behind you.

Carter: Thank you.

Carter rushes in after Lexie.

Reeves: We’re right behind you Lexie, Princess hang on.

Reeves and the guys rush to their car to follow.

Paramedic 2: Is there anything we should know about your wife sir? Any pre-existing conditions? Any allergies to any medication?

Carter looks up at the paramedic.

Carter: She’s pregnant.

The paramedic looks up at him.

Paramedic 2: How far along?

Carter: Can’t be too far, 2 months at most? I just found out.

Paramedic 1: Ok well don’t worry we’re gonna get her to the hospital and do the best we can to save your wife and your baby.

The ambulance drives off in a hurry

As Carter can be seen through the small rear window clinging onto Lexie’s hand.

The paramedics rush Lexie into the hospital and Carter rushes in behind. What really sounded like the paramedics relaying her condition to the doctors on staff was all muffled and blurred as Carter saw everything around him in slow motion, unable to comprehend what was actually happening.

Reeves and the others rush in.

Reeves: Carter, where is she?

Carter snaps out of it quickly.

Carter: They took her into surgery….Reeves…there’s something I need to tell you…

Reeves looks at him worried.

Carter: Lexie’s pregnant.

Reeves stares at him in shock and then looks away.

Carter: I just found out tonight.

Brice looks on shocked too.

Carter: She’s not that far along… 2 months maybe, she can’t… she can’t lose that baby… not again, it’ll ruin her.

Joe looks away.

Carter notices.

Carter: You don’t seem surprised?

Joe: I knew. Lexie told me just before the explosion. She told me so that I could tell you, that if anything were to happen to her…that you should focus on the baby.

Carter: What?

Joe: She wanted me to tell you to save the baby, over saving her.

Carter: She said the same thing to me before she passed out. But I don’t understand that doesn’t make sense. The baby isn’t even fully developed, I mean how could I-

Joe: It makes sense to Lexie. Look I know you know our history. She’s miscarried before. Children are all she’s ever wanted, a family is all she’s ever wanted. So she wanted me to tell you…so I did. I get that it doesn’t make sense, but it’s what she wanted.

Carter: Yea I get it. Thanks.

Joe nods.

Brice: Look they’re working on Lexie right now. There’s no reason to assume the worst, we just need to hope and pray that both Lexie and the baby come out of this on top.

Brice tries to keep things calm and be the voice of reason.

Carter’s tears roll down his cheeks.

Carter: She has to, they both have too.

Reeves: They will. (he pats Carter on the back) Lexie’s a fighter. She usually gets what she wants. And she wants a life with you.

Carter nods wiping his tear ridden face.

A female doctor approaches them.

Doctor: Are you all here for Lexie?

Reeves: Yes, I’m her father, this is her….husband.

Carter: (Carter slightly smiles at Reeves’ gesture) How is she? How’s the baby?

Doctor: Lexie’s stable.

They all sigh out of relief.

Doctor: But she’s not out of the woods just yet. There was no exit wound, so we had to operate to remove the bullet which we were able to do, and stitch her up which is good. But she’s lost a lot of blood so she needs a transfusion. So we’ll be doing that shortly.

Carter: And the baby?

Doctor: We had to concentrate on Lexie first. Given the fact that Lexie is only 2 months pregnant, the best chance that baby has of survival is based on how well Lexie recovers. As of right now the only thing I can tell you is that Lexie is doing well. The position of the gun shot being on her upper shoulder was in her favor, anything closer to the abdomen would have caused serious damage. So it’s quite possible the baby is just fine. But it’s still a very traumatic experience for Lexie’s body to go through while pregnant. So once we do the transfusion, and she’s able to rest more, we’ll proceed with an ultrasound and check on the baby. From that point on we’ll be able to find out what’s going on with the baby. But right now I need to get back to your wife. Hang in there.

Carter: Doctor? Please save my baby. Please. It’ll wreck my wife, if she loses it.

Doctor: We’re gonna do everything in our power to make sure she doesn’t.

Carter: Can I be there… when you do the ultrasound….please?

Doctor: Of course. I’ll have a nurse come and get you when it’s time.

Carter: Thank you.

The hospital room is bright and white Lexie’s eyes flutter open to be met by blurred faces hovering over her and random noises she doesn’t understand. Her vision clears and the noises take shape in the form of medical machinery. A feeling of panic sweeps over her.

Doctor: Well hello, look who decided to join the party?

Lexie: Where am I?

Doctor: The hospital. You were shot in the shoulder.

Lexie: Oh my god, no, no. (she grabs her stomach)

Doctor: Just relax ok, Lexie. Relax. We fixed you up, and you’re gonna be good as new in no time.

Lexie: What about my baby? How’s my baby?

Doctor: We’re just about to find out.

A nurse brings Carter in.

Carter: Lexie?

Lexie: Carter. (she starts crying)

Carter: Thank god you’re ok.

He kisses her

Lexie: Carter, the baby…I may have lost the baby…

Carter: We don’t know that. (he grabs her hand.) It’s ok. I’m right here. It’s gonna be ok. We just have to have a little faith. Your mom’s up there, I think she has a bit of pull with the big guy upstairs right? (he smiles)

Lexie nods and smiles faintly.

Doctor: Ok… are we ready?

Carter kisses Lexie

Carter: (he cups her face) You ready?

Lexie nods and grabs his hand tighter

Doctor: Ok we’re gonna do a sonogram to find out what’s going on with that baby of yours…

The doctor lifts Lexie’s gown up and pours some gel onto her stomach; she rubs the machine onto Lexie’s stomach. Lexie shuts her eyes, nervous to face what’s happening.

Carter looks at her and kisses her forehead.

Doctor: Ok…so you’re only 2 months, so what we’re looking for is basically a little dot…ah…Right. About. There. (She points to the screen.) And as long as there’s a heartbeat, we’re in good shape.

The silence is deafening and Lexie’s tears stream down her face. Carter hugs her close.

All of a sudden the small rhythmic thumping is heard.

Bub bumb. bub bumb. bub bumb

Lexie’s eyes shoot open.

Carter looks at the screen.

Doctor: Well look at that…we’ve got a fighter…must take after its mom. (she smiles)

Lexie and Carter kiss and he hugs her tightly.

Lexie: Thanks mom. (she whispers looking up).

Chapter 10 rounds out next week, and then we have just 2 Chapters left!

It all started with a tweet. Isn’t that always the case? We are living in the new digital age. R.I.P sweet typewriters, dell computers, aim, and let’s face it…aol.com. Anyway, getting back to the good stuff. On July 28^th my jaw dropped for a brief…VERY brief second when 1/5 of *NSYNC; Lance Bass sent the tweet pictured below.

A NEW *NSYNC album. And only ONE day notice! But I need to dig out my t-shirt and my bobble heads and…. BUT HOW CAN YOU DO SUCH A THING to a MEGA Fangirl!

In that minor second of happy panic I knew it was too good to be true.

Oh. It’s just another form of a greatest hits album. So it’s not really “New” is it?

*Although I have to admit the faux *NSYNC reunion rumors are getting easier to ignore, it’s happened just too many times, I won’t believe it until I see it with my own eyes!

So apparently Walmart’s releasing a new *NSYNC album tomorrow, swell, glad I had no idea…P.S. it’s basically a greatest hits…which just sucks…don’t give false hope Walmart just don’t!

July 29^th my status read:

Omg my inner 90’s self is so pissed…Dear Media, *NSYNC did NOT “drop a new album” none of the guys knew about it AND there’s no new music on it!

So what’s the deal with this album? *NSYNC members had no clue this was being released. Why was the label being so secretive? Well after Lance’s tweet, I googled my ass off…naturally. And checked my *NSYNC related sources and by sources I mean I stalked the guys social media accounts and found that the “new” album was a compilation of old hits, some unreleased/unreleased commercially tracks, some fun collabs and covers, soundtrack contributions and some random tracks that were released as side projects. [AKA the Britney Spears/*NSYNC McDonalds CD]

Lance did a whole interview about the album release on his radio show and he basically won me over! Listen to it HERE!

By the way take my Facebook anger with a grain of salt. I wasn’t angry at the band or their music. I LOVE their music. I love them! I was just frustrated that no one knew about this album. The guys should have been notified it is their voices, and some of the tracks Sony used on this CD were actually written by members of the band. And I’m not gonna lie even though I knew it wasn’t gonna happen, I was secretly hoping for real deal 2014 music. Not to say that the unreleased tracks aren’t boss. Cuz they are. But being the psycho fan I am, I pretty much heard 99% of the album (unreleased tracks and all) back in the 1996-2002 time period, thanks to Lime Wire.

OMG who remembers Lime Wire?

Initially my first thought was well I have almost all of these songs; I own all their albums and have most of the other singles thanks to Lime Wire again. (I was a kid, please don’t punish me…free music is free music.) But when the thought of not buying the CD came into my mind, my 90’s fan girl grilled me and put her hands on her hips, tapping her foot at me. She was pissed. So naturally I gave the album a listen on YouTube. [GOD I LOVE YOUTUBE!] And I basically fell in love. So a month later and here we are. “New”/ Old *NSYNC album playing in my ears. I guess I’m growing up a little since I didn’t run out and get it right away, I waited it out….

But I was up in Pennsylvania on vacation and consciously sought out a nearby Walmart and bought my copy. (So there’s that.) I guess there are some things I just can’t help. It was the right thing to do. Here’s how it went.

My Brother: What’d you get?

Me: What do you think I got? (holds up cd)

My Brother: (gives me a face) So you bought a cd you already have all the songs to?

Me: Um that’s not true…there’s unreleased music.”

My cousin: “I didn’t know people still bought cds?”

Me: Oh I do. I love cds. There are some people that I just feel like I need to own their CD.”

I gotta say new album or not, *NSYNC looked nice back up on a shelf….right next to Ms. Britney Spears. The way it should be.

Band member Lance Bass said of the album on his radio show, Dirty Pop: “There’s a lot of these songs I don’t think I’ve ever heard, I remember recording them but I’ve never heard them before, so I’m interested in just hearing them.” JC Chasez tweeted about the album’s release, stating: “I had the strangest dream last night that some old friends and I had a top 10 record on iTunes. Crazy right…” “Chris Kirkpatrick said of the album; “It’s great to release some of the songs that had never made a record before! I’m glad our long time fans get some new music!” Joey Fatone also said; “Pretty interesting this album comes out, which I really had no idea, and it’s in the top of Amazon and iTunes… we owe it to our fans. And yet Justin Timberlake has yet to comment. But instead of getting all angry fan girl on him, I will just chalk that up to the fact that homeboy needs to learn how to tweet for himself more. I hate seeing –Team JT (no offense Team JT, we do appreciate the updates).

There is something about listening to *NSYNC and hearing young Justin Timberlake vocals that transports me back to the amazingness of the 90’s and my childhood and how everything was just so much easier. Memories are connected to those songs. And hearing those voices again just reminds me of what made me fall in love with them in the first place. It’s a feeling I can’t seem to let go of.

*NSYNC may have been known as a boy band, but they started off as an A Capella group. If you really take the time to listen to their self titled debut album, you will see that their vocals are a lot more clear and there is less room for fancy background music and beats and you realize they actually can sing. They all harmonize so well together, and each shine in their own tone of voice, creating a nice dynamic group. It was a beautiful thing to see vocals that fell through the crack back then, like “I Thought She Knew,” “Sailing,” and “Selfish,” be given new life on this album. I think the entire compilation is a really good overall encasing of what *NSYNC was known for; talent and entertainment and for basically making all us young girls giddy as hell! It’s a serious throwback and we 20 something year olds have basically named ourselves the nostalgia generation. So if this fits you, and you’re a hardcore *NSYNC fan, buy it! And if you’re not, buy it anyway…maybe after hearing such a great selection of songs; it’ll turn you into a fan. Crazier things have happened.

However, do I think they missed a few key songs? But of course.

Just a few that came to mind.

*NSYNC’s transition to more pop like music happened in their second studio album and the world loved it. Songs like “Bye Bye Bye” and “It’s Gonna Be Me” made us all sing at the top of our lungs and dance those synchronized dance moves we all know and love. But their third and final album (as a current band) was a play on their new found fame, with songs like “POP” and “Gone” we saw the boys had turned to men and they wanted to be recognized as such. And to be recognized as actual artists. Hence….Justin Timberlake’s soon to be exit from the group, breaking teenage/pre-teenage hearts everywhere.

For me, *NSYNC is always going to be golden. They were such a crucial part of a golden era and I loved everything they’ve ever put out…even the album they had no clue about. It’s a great 2 disc, 34 song track list,!!!!34!!!! ($11.88 at Walmart…2 discs, 34 songs, I’ve bought many cds in my life and I thought that was a steal!) The album pays homage to their vocals and gives us all a little hope that one day it may just actually happen. If you ask me I think if the label was looking for some kind of validation from the fans as to whether or not an *NSYNC album would do well on today’s charts. Well I think you got your answer.

The Essential *NSYNC was released July 29^th. And was quite beautifully received by fans, via twitter people praised their favorite old tracks and newly released favorites. It was even in the top 10 albums on iTunes, next to new generation boy bands. Fangirls got you *NSYNC. Always. Believe in us. We believe in you. Come back for real and you’ll see.

2013 Vmas “Reunion” a year ago…hmmm and this album just dropped…hold onto hope fellow fangirls!

Ugh these dang reviews always turn into a love affair of me pouring my guts out to you…so let’s wrap this up before I think of more to say. In a nutshell, 90’s girls will never forget and never let you go…accept that *NSYNC. Accept that Justin Timberlake. And tweet me back will ya? #HowRude 😉

Who’s YOUR Lobster?

I’m a TV junkie and not afraid to admit it. And along with that I’m a romantic at heart and therefore I have certain couples, which I ship within every TV show. But there is one couple, who I feel is the couple of all couples. Whose love and relationship is timeless. The couple which all other couples are compared to, but could never really match. And that is the love between Ross and Rachel from F.R.I.E.N.D.S; which is also what I consider to be the greatest TV show of all time. And it all started with…

Oh Ms. Buffay, Thank You for this and all your weird wisdom.

27 Reasons Why Ross & Rachel Were Each Other’s Lobsters

1. Ross loved Rachel since the 9th grade.

2. “It’s always been you Rach.”-Ross

3. Ross planned his entire future with Rachel after only 6 weeks of actually dating her.

4. Ross got dressed and ready to take Rachel to prom when she thought her date stood her up.

5. Even after Ross “cheated,” you had to feel bad for him, because you realized just how sincerely in love he was with Rachel and how sorry he was. The scene that broke everyone’s heart into a thousand pieces. He later even lets her keep her favorite shirt of his, because he knows she likes to sleep in it.

*I have to say I understood why Rachel was so hurt and I understood them breaking up over it. But I wished the break up didn’t last as long as it did, because they were obviously still in love. But I wouldn’t consider it cheating since at that time he slept with someone else, they were actually broken up. The infamous “We were on a break” was a run on joke for the duration of the show.*

6. Ross cancelled a really important career night to be there for Rachel when she was in pain and in need of a hospital visit, he even helps her get dressed and do her makeup.

7. Ross and Rachel flirt at the beach house and kiss later that night, even though Ross has started to see Bonnie.

8. Ross stopped dating Rachel’s sister Jill, just so that there would be a chance for he and Rachel again in the future.

9. The jealousy of each others relationships…was pretty evident…Mark, Joshua, Paolo, Julie, Bonnie, Emily.

10. Rachel went to London to stop Ross’ wedding, but when she got there decided it wasn’t the right thing to do and supported him instead.

11. Ross said “I take thee Rachel.” in his wedding vows to Emily.

12. Ross & Rachel drunkenly got married in Vegas.

13. Ross lied about getting an annulment…he didn’t want to divorce Rachel. Ross smelt Rachel’s hair when he hugs her. Phoebe saw it as a sign and so did we.

14. Ross tells Rachel she can live with him, when Monica and Chandler decide to move in together.

15. Ross and Rachel both considered *Bonus Night*….and then it actually happened…

16. Ross planned his proposal for Rachel when they were dating…and reveals it years later when he and Rachel are at a family function pretending to be engaged because she is pregnant.

17. Ross guided Rachel through the mysteries of pregnancy.

18. Ross wanted Rachel to move in with him, when she was pregnant and after they had Emma in order to be closer to them.

19. During her pregnancy; Ross gave Rachel a special pager code, for her to use to get in touch with him.

20. Rachel and Ross have their baby Emma.

21. In response to Phoebe saying she can’t tell who Emma looks more like, Ross says; “She’s gorgeous are you kidding me, she’s all Rachel.”

22. Ross’ reaction to Rachel & Joey’s “relationship” was perfect.

23. Ross doesn’t take advantage of a vulnerable Rachel when her father has a heart attack and she’s looking for comfort.

24. Rachel tells Ross that with them “sex is never off the table.”

25. When Rachel is offered a job in Paris, Ross slyly tries to get her to stay.

26. Ross and Rachel fight about how hard it is going to be for Rachel to leave him.

27. Rachel gets off the plane.

The roller coaster of why these two belong together was a hell of a lot of fun to watch, but I could have done without all the useless relationships and hookups in between them finally realizing they belonged together…but I guess that’s television for ya!
