If you ask me, no one does black lace like Ms. Britney Spears.
She’s recycled that look since her jaw dropping iconic 2001 VMA red carpet look.
And quite frankly anytime she rocks black lace it still suits her perfectly.
Here’s Britney rocking a darker hair with a similar black mesh look
at the 2010 Grammy Awards.
And more recently she rocked this scandalous number at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards.

In fact there are several flawless Britney Spears looks I’ve been obsessed with over the years and most of them are looks she’s worn in her music videos.
The torn fabric look from “Stronger,” has been one of my favorites for as long as I can remember, I just always thought she looked so damn cool and edgy.
Currently I have been in love with the AMAZING black lace inspired outfits she’s rocking in her newest firecracker video for “Make Me.” Some people have been hating on this video and I just don’t get it. I think it’s really fun and you can’t take it too seriously. And FYI if you think this video is her objectifying men, that’s a bit of a reach. I mean how many rap videos do women have to sit through and see boobs and butts sticking out and women being objectified continuously. The video has a plot, the men are there to audition for her video, it’s not just like men naked for no reason. There’s a fun little story to go along with the theme of the song. And um…I am obsessed with this song!
Anyway…I digress, these black lace looks featured in this video are so classic Britney, and so sleek and trendy. Black Lace, never goes out of style. And the fedora….perfect touch. Can one rock that outfit on the regular please?
Did I also mention that she announced that her new album; “Glory” will be released…August 26th!
“Make Me” and (her next single) “Private Show” are available on Spotify. Catch a sneak peek on “Private Show” in the commercial for Britney’s newest fragrance inspired by the song!
Britney promises a new era with this album. From the listen of just these two songs, I’ve got to say I’m excited, I feel like this may be just what I’ve been waiting to see from her. A reinvention. Britney Spears in all her GLORY. 😉 #GloryIsTheTitleOfHerAlbum #SeeWhatIDidThere #CleverIKnow 😉

So I thought I’d give this concert vlog thing another whirl. Let’s see how we do.
Last Thursday, on July 28th my best friend and I went to see Bethany Joy Lenz in concert. To say we have waited for this for along time would be an understatement.
We have been fans of Joy since her One Tree Hill days. As many of you may know Joy is best known for her role as Haley James Scott on the hit teen drama. And as our obsession with the show grew so did our admiration for Joy and her undeniable talent.
She is without a doubt one of my greatest and longest running inspirations. She hasn’t ever really been on tour in New York- well since the One Tree Hill Tour that my best friend and I tried to get tickets for but failed, (I wasn’t the ticket savvy queen I am now.) I have never been able to see Joy live. So back in April when she posted a concert poster, I freaked out when I saw a New York date and swooped up two tickets for me and my best friend to give her as part of her birthday gift!
Outfit of the Day + Hair & Makeup
The concert was held at Highline Ballroom in New York City. And it was probably the coolest concert venue I’ve ever had the pleasure of attending. It is so cozy, the lights are dim, there is a ground floor and a mezzanine level. The ground floor had some tables and booths but were reserved seating and the rest was standing room only.
Me and my friend are grandmas with big ole purses so we wanted to catch a good seat, so we rushed up to the mezzanine level and grabbed ourselves a nice little booth perfect for the two of us overlooking the stage. At the candlelit table you were asked to order a minimum of $10, however the ballroom comes fully stocked with a dinner and drinks menu.
We ordered two glasses of rose (oh so fancy), some mushroom sliders, butter lettuce salad with grilled chicken and fries. Everything was delicious. Not to mention that our floor had it’s own bathrooms too! So everything we needed was at our finger tips! We even ran into some family friends which we were able to share our fangirl experience with. The whole night was amazing, the show, the venue. It was such a great time and the ambiance gave off great vibes. Intimate shows are so much more soul satisfying. Artists talk more, they tell you stories. It’s beautiful. And you don’t have to deal with a crazy, loud, crowded concert hall.
We watched the whole show in sheer awe of what was actually happening. Sometimes I literally would just scream or make this face at my best friend-
-because I just didn’t know what else to do, I was that excited. When you experience something you’ve always wanted to, you kind of lose yourself. I certainly felt like I was living an out of body experience at times throughout that night.
Joy was amazing; she sang an array if folk/country/soulful songs. Some I knew, some I hadn’t heard, but either way it was moving and she is pure talent.
Joy released that night’s set list via a post on instagram. *”Dance with me” is one of my favorites!
I had a mission that day-to vlog my experience. I love to take pictures and video, I love to document my life, so that I can look back on things and remember. I’m extremely sentimental. However, as I literally sat there trying to record every song, I felt like I was watching the concert through a screen. This concert that I had waited so long to see, this person who I have in some sense idolized for over a decade. How could I let myself not be in this moment.
So as those thoughts crept into my mind, Joy said the thing I needed to hear. In the video you will see how she explains how technology has gotten to all of us, including herself. So at her shows she asks for her audience to put their phones and cameras down and to just “Be Here With Us.” I did my best to do so, I’m only human and I certainly filmed and took my pictures, but there was a chuck of time between when she asked to when the “phone song” came on that I had definite moments where I was able to disconnect from the digital and relish in the present moment, and take in the whole world of wonder that was around me. Something that is so difficult for this generation to do.
So let’s get into the fact that WE MET BETHANY JOY LENZ. I have to be honest, it wasn’t planned. When I had bought the tickets there was the option for a meet and greet, but it was quite expensive. I internally hoped that there would be an alternate way to swing a meeting because the venue was on the smaller, more intimate side. I must have had some good vibes swinging that night, because the minute I went down to check on the merchandise and memorabilia being sold, I was told that something was already sold out. I looked at the girl behind the table and asked “Oh no what did you already sell out of?” She said they just got word they could sell more polaroids. I asked her what she meant, when she told me that for $35 you could meet Joy after the show and take a polaroid picture with her and she would sign it. I was dumbfounded for a hot second. Is this real life? Is this opportunity literally within my grasp?
“Do you take credit cards?” I asked quickly.
“Yes!” she replied excitedly.
“Oh my god, Ok, I’ll take two,” I say whipping my credit card out and handing it over.
“My best friend is upstairs and she’s going to freak out when I tell her.”
So I rush up stairs, internally freaking out and sit across from my best friend.
“Oh my god you’re gonna die when I tell you what just happened?”
“Oh my god, did you meet her?”
“No, but we’re going to.”
As I told her the whole rundown, she streaked and hugged me.
This was going to happen.
After the show, we waited online to meet Joy, we strategically placed ourselves toward the end of the line, so that there wouldn’t be people rushing us off quickly. The audience was quite the mix, but there were teens there. A lot of teens. The way I describe it – “the Netflix generation.” You know the girls who fangirl over One Tree Hill, but didn’t actually live through it while it was on the air. Waiting week to week for new episodes, or waiting for winter hiatus and summer breaks to pass while we waited to find out if Haley and Nathan would get back together. It was safe to say that we were the old ones in the crowd and you know what it was beautifully nostalgic. I chatted with the littles and told them to breathe and stay calm. We joked and it certainly made the time pass nicely.
When it came our time to meet Joy, I was strangely at ease. Considering I balled my eyes out when I met Sophia Bush years ago, I’d say my behavior while meeting Joy was a major improvement. I guess I just realized that she’s a human being made of skin and bones just like the rest of us. I guess I’m growing up.
She gave us hugs and we took our pictures.
I turned to her and told her that we had been waiting to see her in concert for years and when I finally saw she was going to be in New York, I knew we had to go. And that the show was so amazing.
She smiled saying “Thank you so much.”
After we posed for our pictures she signed our polaroids and we made our exit, but not before I turned to say bye and blew her a kiss. Haha. In hide sight, it was kind of weird and awkward, she didn’t exactly reciprocate. Haha. The thing is it’s kind of a reflect for me, to blow a kiss to a friend when I’m saying goodbye. I do it all the time, and I clearly felt like she and I were besties so it just fit. 😉 And just like that a childhood dream came true.
Anyway you know what they say…”Never meet your idols, because it’ll never measure up to what you have in your heard.” That may be true. The meeting was quick, and Joy certainly seemed exhausted and kind of ready to fall asleep. But she still stuck it out and met all of us, posed for pictures and signed autographs, it was a pretty sweet deal. And she was still her sweet self. The rest is just me overanalyzing. Haha. Until next time, Joy. Until next time.

Having to wear shorts under dresses and skirts #chafingproblems
Jewelry trends #chokers
It’s too hot for this shit! In the summer sometimes I just cant deal with wearing jewelry, as much as I love it, everything just sticks to me and I hate it! And chokers are the new trend and I love how they look, but when I try to rock one, I give up before I leave house. I feel constricted. Lol.
Racerback tank tops #hellobrastraps
I’ll admit I know this is a fashion no-no and it’s tacky, but I am totally guilty of this. I do it all the time. And I just don’t care. LOL. I’m not about to wear some uncomfortable strap device every time I want to wear a racertrack tank. #SorryNotSorry
When heels make your outfit, but you’re just not into dealing with the pain
I’m usually the girl who brings a pair of flats with me, because I know heels are not my usual jam.
The maxi dress #WhatUndergarmentsDoIWear #WhyIsThisDressSuddenlySeeThrough
But she still looks good tho!
Oh is this how you style them?
The strapless dress/bra #AllBrasSUCK
The strapless is not for the busty.
Pulling and tugging. All. Night. #BigBustProbs
I have this adorable off the shoulder shirt that I love but I hate strapless bras- they lack support- so I wear a tank top under the shirt which defeats the whole point of the style of the shirt. Ugh.
When you don’t want to wash your hair and your dry shampoo fails you and you end up looking like a sweaty gym rat.
The romper/The jumpsuit #BUTnowIhavetopee
It’s crazy because in my mind when I have a reason to believe I can’t use the rest room freely, I feel like the idea is on my mind more than usual. It messes with your mind, Lol.
Can you relate to these fashion frustrations?
Soldier on my fellow females, we got this! #LookinFlawless 😉
Tori Kelly is one to watch. She has a voice to be reckoned with. Plays the guitar and the drums. Has a damn cool laid back style with funky twists and spins and overall gives off really good cool chill vibes. AND HER HAIR IS EPIC!
I’m going to showcase some key things I’ve noticed in her style choices.
Maybe it will help create some fun fashion inspiration for my laid back girls out there.
The sneaker trend.
Tori has this cool way of rocking a funky sneaker with a dressier outfit. Somehow it works.
Below she is pictured wearing them with a dress, a romper, shorts, and a pants outfit. And although it may be considered a slightly off kilter concept, she makes it work. I’m not much of a sneaker girl and I don’t know if I would be able to pull of this trend, but I’d definitely give it a try!
Colored shades.
Below you will see Tori rocking the same pair of green sunglasses. I am obsessed with these. They are such a funky color and reflective and just bad ass. They add a pop of color to any outfit and work really well with her big blonde curls.
Flannels.
Below you will find Tori incorporating flannels into her outfits, whether she is the rocking them around her waist to add more dimension- giving it that 90’s grunge vibe- or she’s rocking a full skirt piece, Tori makes it all work-effortlessly. Besides, you can always throw the flannel on if you are cold which would then in turn switch the outfit up a bit-giving it a cozy, cabin in the woods vibe. Where’s my crackling fireplace and my glass of wine? I’m ready.
The all black theme.
Tori wears a lot of black, all black outfits often including a leather jacket to be more precise. She even likes to paint her nails black as well. It gives off an edgy, rockerish vibe. And let’s be honest, you end up looking sleek as hell. What I love so much about the following three all black outfits, is Tori’s choice to accent the shoe with a shiny texture and vibrant sparkly color. We see gold wedge sneakers in the first photo (WHICH I ADORE), electric turquoise heels in the second photo and sparkly silver platform sneakers in the third photo. These accents are what makes Tori, Tori.
Thin rings on three consecutive fingers.
I see a lot of people wear simple jewelry additions like this. I adore this trend. So is there a name for these rings, and where can I get them?
The basic Tori samples.
Leather jackets aside, Tori often rotates denim pieces, plain tees, blazers, and booties.
Classing things up.
Even though often opting for a laid back, comfortable fashion style, Tori Kelly is no stranger to putting together a kick ass red carpet ready wardrobe. Below you will see how she isn’t afraid to go bold, bright, adding a little sparkle and shimmer. The first look plays with color, the second is head to toe sequins and sparkle, rocking the heels too. The last photo is my favorite look. I love everything about it, the studded booties, the feather dress, the leather jacket – which makes for a really interesting but beautiful texture contrast. And these pieces are all slightly different shades of gray/black as well, which compliment nicely.
All of these key ideas give Tori her own style. And it looks comfortable too. I’m all about that life. Because sometimes I can’t fashion, I’m too tired and now that summer is here, I have no patience. But it’s fun to explore the idea that laid back basic pieces can be made into fashion forward looks and still remain chill and comfy. Tori Kelly is quite the talent. So I leave you with these killer performances as you start to gain some outfit inspiration from her stellar self. Let me know in the comments below if I missed any Tori Styles Tips!
Ok so we all know Taylor Swift has ruled the world with her bomb ass girl squad, promoting girl power, feminism and all around badassery. So it got me thinking, if I could put together my own “fantasy” girl squad-like men put together their fantasy sports teams-… who would I include? These are the women who I admire most and who I think would all mesh well into one epic gang of powerhouses. I gave them squad names too, because I mean- duh. I’d lead this pack proudly. 😉
Bethany Joy Lenz- “Sweet Vintage”
Sophia Bush-“Chicago Spunk”
Tori Kelly- “TK Frizz”
Jennifer Lopez-“J-Booty”

I would include Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift in a heartbeat but they already have their squad. I’m creating my own path here people. Be a leader not a follower. 😉 And I said it once and I’ll say it again, I’d lead this pack proudly.#squadgoals Invites go out early next week. 😉 #AGirlCanDream #FanGirlLife

To make a whistle, shout, or comment of a sexual nature to a woman passing by.
Can Cat-calling and Douchebaggery quit sooner rather than later?
It boggles my mind how men get away with their sexist comments.
When I’m walking down the street, I could be wearing sweats or a pretty dress and the cat calling and comments can stride along.
It makes me disgusted. With those men. And skeptical of male attention in general.
You never know what intention lies behind the not so clever come ons.
In fact it does the opposite of what I’m sure is their intention.
It doesn’t make you desirable when you treat me like an object that is just purely walking the earth for your eyes to glance over and decide whether or not you’re going to comment on my looks.
I may be reading too much into things here, but you can’t tell me how to feel. Quite honestly I think there’s a greater problem here than just the occasional cat caller.
Some women may take it as a form of flattery.
I do not.
It causes an insecurity rather than a compliment. And that’s the major problem.
It causes me to question my attire, and whether or not I should have left the house wearing whatever it is I happen to be wearing. Did I do something wrong? Should I have walked home a different way? Crossed the street? Put my sweater on, even though it’s 85 degrees and I’m hot.
No. No. No. Men need a reality check. Men need to actually think with their brains, not…well you know where I’m going with this.
The truth is I’m a modest person. I dress rather conservatively.
And for me to have to feel insecure because a man can’t seem to be respectful enough to keep his mouth shut as I walk by, is sad. So sad.
It’s not my fault.
And ladies, it’s not yours either. No matter what you’re wearing. Nothing is an invitation for a man to treat you like an object.
I shouldn’t have to worry if my shirt shifts or my dress is slightly shorter than I usually wear. I shouldn’t have to feel shameful of wanting to feel sexy and dress like a woman.
The best part is that most of these catcalling moments will come from men older than me. And let’s be real I have a baby face and probably look younger than I actually am. So what the hell are these guys even looking at me for, let alone commenting on my appearance.
I’ve been in a few awkward situations with older men where I am made to feel uncomfortable about what I am wearing. And it’s a shame. Because my wearing that outfit wasn’t to seek their attention. It was to dress up and feel girly. My looks are not warranting your comment.
Don’t get me wrong, hearing a compliment is nice every once in a while. And there is certainly an allure to the idea of having a gentleman caller admire you. To have someone want to figure out what you’re all about. It can be very sexy when done respectfully. But the operative word here is….gentleman. Does he look you in the eye? Does he respect your mind? Does he treat you like a human being?
Because the attention we get from these disrespectful men is not what we strive for. The comment isn’t a compliment when it comes in the form of sexual grunts and whistles, from a guy who doesn’t really care about me at all. Or the fact that he’s making me uncomfortable and self-conscious.
I ask these men to think about their mothers, sisters, aunts, cousins, your future (or current daughters) …Yea some men are fathers and still pull this bullshit. Think about all the women in your life, who you love and respect and care for. Would you want guys catcalling them and making them feel the way you make me and other women feel?
No. So stop. Just stop. It’s unnecessary and it’s not going to get you anywhere. I mean really aside from being ignored or given a shaded glare of hatred. What do you expect? What do you think is going to happen? Do you think I will become overly flattered by your so cleverly thought out whistle or sexist comment that I’ll just jump your bones, right here in the public street? Because, that’s a big fat NO. You sir, are not impressing anyone. Quit while you can.
Just because you have been deemed a dog, doesn’t mean I’m a cat. Ok. Thanks. Bye.
Read my “5 Things Girls Wish Guys Still Did” post below.
I don’t understand how violence has become the norm.
I hate that the quality of life and living have been tainted.
We ask why?
We try to understand.
Is nowhere safe?
You risk your life everyday by leaving your house.
You risk your life by taking public transportation.
…by going to the movies.
…by going to a concert.
…by going to a nightclub.
All things that are normal.
Things that are part of making life worth wild.
Experiences. Memories.
All viciously tainted.
We now live in a world where you can’t trust the stranger sitting next to you.
A world where you are weary and guarded.
Because you have to be.
Because this world has taught you that you need to be.
The violence must stop.
The world is in turmoil.
Security must enhance EVERYWHERE.
It’s sad. But it’s true.
You can’t walk around carelessly anymore.
You can’t trust in humanity.
In strangers or in sense of self and good hearts.
It’s sad. But it’s true.
You never know.
Anyone allowed to carry a weapon should have to undergo a psychiatric test before walking out with one.
People who have such anger in them that they would take the life of others just because they want to, just because they feel like it. They need help. The rage, the hate, the anger, the violence. It needs to stop.
We live in a world where you question bringing new life into it.
You question traveling at night alone.
…dropping your kids off at school.
The world is in turmoil and in these times are law and government going to step up and do something to change things? Can they change things? Will they even try?
Underground illegal actions constantly go untracked.
There is so much we don’t know.
I’m not one for politics, because quite honestly it feels like a popularity contest and they don’t end up doing what they say or are limited as to what they can actually do. If you ask me it’s probably not really even up to us.
But people in positions of power should use it for good. Awareness. Awakening. The time is now. No time like the present. The next president, needs to be the face of change.
The media only makes it worse. The constant reports, I have to turn it off after a while, because my anxiety spikes and if I continue to bury myself in that negativity, I’d never want to leave my house.
We shouldn’t have to fear living life.
In times like this we all turn our heads upwards and ask why?
Even those who don’t always believe.
We may even get angry as to why God let this happen.
There’s free will, and sometimes people abuse that.
While others soar and inspire, some are filled with evil and sin.
And one day their judgement day will come.
God Bless.
Stay Safe.
Hold your loved ones tight.
Forgive.
Leave it to God.
And Pray, pray harder than you ever have.
Pray for the world, pray for peace.
Pray for souls to connect with God again and fill their minds and hearts, with his will and to do the best they can, and be the best they can be to better this world for this generation and many generations to come.
Because this world, this isn’t the world God gave us.
The anger, the hate, the violence, he never instilled that into souls.
We’ve damaged our world, and now we need to fix it.
Have you prayed yet?

I understand not all people identify with a religion but if you believe there is a greater power out there, then you know what it means to have a connection to something greater than yourself. I only hope you let that energy inspire you to always do good. Your soul deserves nothing less.
I had been struggling with a topic for today’s Monday post, but then suddenly inspiration struck Sunday Night and it came in the form of art in the sky.
Casually chilling at home with my family, working on some lesson plans for the week, my Dad suddenly begins ranting and raving about the beautiful rainbow outside.
I walked over to my kitchen window to take a glance and it was such a bright beautiful one, I had to run outside and see it clearer. It was actually a full arc and a double rainbow. Below is a slideshow of pics I snapped. The last one, is a bit enhanced and cropped to be posted on instagram. But still the pictures don’t do it justice.
This slideshow requires JavaScript.
So what does a double rainbow mean?
WeatherChannel.com explores the logical;
As sunshine breaks through the clouds and beams towards the raindrops, some of the light encounters the raindrops and bends – this process is called refraction. When the light refracts, the process causes the sunlight to separate into different wavelengths. These different wavelengths correspond to different colors: red and orange correspond to longer wavelengths, while blue and purple correspond to shorter wavelengths.
The refracted light waves then bounce – or reflect – off of the circular edge of the raindrop, and then they refract again as they exit the raindrop and travel through the air.
Because raindrops are relatively round when the sunlight refracts through them, the visual result is a spherical arc that soars all across the sky. Viewers who are lucky enough to see a whole rainbow will observe a colorful arc spanning the entire Earth, from end to end.
A Double Rainbow! What Does This Mean?
During a particularly lucky scenario, two rainbows will form at the same time. The first and brighter rainbow is called the primary rainbow. This rainbow is created by the process described above, and only requires the light to reflect off of the raindrop once before refracting out of the raindrop.
Sure there are scientific reasons as to why these colors get displayed post rainfall. But there’s a spiritual meaning behind rainbows too. Let’s dive in a little deeper, together, shall we?
According to universeofsymbolism.com Rainbows mean so much more than different colorful wavelengths forming from a mixture of rain, clouds and sunshine.
A double rainbow means serendipitous magic is on the way, the path of personal magic is opening for you. Be true to yourself and your dreams and know that the Universe is conspiring on your behalf. This also tells you that your intuition is keener than you might have imagined…it says “it’s a sure sign to trust your vibes.”
There are also some biblical references involving the symbolism of rainbows.
12. And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant which I make between Me and you and every living creature with you, for everlasting generations: 13. I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth . . . and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. (Genesis 9:12, 15, HBFV)
I personally think I’d side with the biblical and spiritual side of things. Sure rain happened and we got a rainbow- but why today? Why now? Was it the hope we all needed to see. An uplifting of sorts, a unique energy from God, a sign? I’d like to think so. I’d like to think it’s God telling us he’s with us. Because to me the world is far too big, too big to believe that we aren’t being watched over by a greater, much higher power.
So…what’s your take on rainbows? See any recently?
